As a portuguese, I'm not saying this song should have won, but at least it surely deserved much more points. Fortunately, to compensate, in 2017, we won with the most points ever in eurovision.

As a portuguese, this song gives me the cringe haha for most of the 1980s we kept on sending really nationalistic songs and that was just cringe. this one is a chant to colonialism, which is not ageing very well in this day and age. musically speaking, she starts off tune. maybe all of these reasons worked together for a bad score in the end.
