Keeping your weapons in good shape will help with combat. Regularly check to see if your weapons and armour need repairing. Magical or enchanted weapons need to be taken to a blacksmith able to repair them which is not the same as recharging them.
Love the playthrough! Also, when you kill an enemy with a nice weapon, the weapon may not show up to be looted on the body. They may just be laying in the overworld. For example, Faustina should have dropped a unique dagger called Witsplinter that I think was on the floor by her body.

Loving the playthrough. You definitely need a home though to store stuff and sleep. Check the quest in Lleyawin with Mazoga the Orc in the Castle foyer.
