  • This is a no frills, extended and unaltered video for those who were interested in seeing my process in more detail.
    Unfortunately, The video stopped before I was finished with this stage. I went on to add some thicker mica glitter veins, when the product was more set up, so that they wouldn’t “sink” too much.
    I also did some over spraying with some light and dark spray paints and then alcohol spritzed into that. As you’ll see in the final result (in my other videos of this piece) the colors and veins moved and blended and softened quite a bit by the end.
    After the color coat was cured, I poured a clearcoat with diamond dust added. And after that was cured, I used a gold foil pen to carefully enhance some of the gold veins that had softened more than I liked. It added a wonderful extra quality of depth and dimension to the piece after pouring the final clearcoat.

      Awe, thank you 🙏🏻 It’s crazy how things evolve and sweep me away. I don’t know where an hour goes! And I really push the envelope when it comes to “working” a piece, going well past 45 min to an hour, too!

    I know this is an old video but I was wondering if there is color under the cellophane or if it's just white. I've watched your videos for a very long time and always hoped you would do more. I'm so excited you are making more video's because I always looked forward to watching them. Thank you so much for sharing, your work is stunning! 😊

      Hi Tammy 😃 First, your question. No color, I just adhered it to the surface as you see it. Second, wow! Thank you so much. That is so encouraging! Indeed, I have wanted to (and have finally started to) post more content. Unfortunately, life got in the way. That said, as you have observed, I’m finally back to it, yaaaay! I’ve got lots of projects lined up and will be filming as much as possible! Thank you so much for being an admirer of my work and encouraging me to keep offering more of what I do. It really means a lot! 💖

    This was very helpful and I appreciate that you filmed your process. I’m curious what you applied towards the end, from a little squeeze bottle? It was a copper-y kind of color. Was it a mica in alcohol, or a dye? Thank you for sharing; really beautiful piece!

      Thank you! It’s my pleasure to share. 😊 It was awhile ago, but I’m pretty sure what you’re referring to was the “Reactive Epoxy STAIN” in Bronze Patina from Epoxy Candy, if memory serves me correctly. Thanks, again!! 🙏

    It's really spectacular. I'm wondering if around the cellophane, one could do an exotic pour to make it look like it was opal embedded in a marble or granite look. I may need to do some samples to see if I wanted to do my shower stall in this way. Thanks so much for posting your process, it's really wonderful.

    Was that clear epoxy you put on first, I cant tell? I wish you said what each color was that you put on each time. It's gorgeous!

      Michele Hrbek oh gosh, I apologize. I totally get it. I’m so new to all of this. Just getting started. I think I can re-edit my video and add either commentary or text to explain my process. I’m also a little shy about talking on camera. 🤓 Also, I get so engrossed while I’m working, I’d probably forget and stop talking while filming, lol 😂. I will keep trying to improve my process.

      Michele Hrbek it was 2 shades of clear, each lightly tinted, one with “ghost” blue and one with ghost red, and some very fine iridescent glitter in same highlight.

      @AlchemyArtisanWorks  3 роки тому

      @@michelehrbek9807 you can get them at lots of different online retailers, including amazon, epoxy candy, and more. For this I just happened to have Jaquard products, interference blue abd interference red. They look white but have iridescent colored highlights.

    Thanks for posting this! I want to learn how to do the opal effect. This color scheme would be perfect for my coffee table. I’ll just have to stop piling stuff on it so I can show it off!

      Dita Hargrove right? 😄 I finally did my own at home, little bit different technique, and now I want to keep it clear all the time!

      @@AlchemyArtisanWorks That will be a challenge, especially with my husband. The worst part is the table has built-in storage, and we still pile tons of stuff on it!
