    I'm sitting on my 4 thousand dollar couch while my wife is out with the daughter buying groceries, and all I can think is 'why is this couch so expensive' and 'why am I using this precious time to watch a knife comparison of two knives I plan to never own'. I've been drinking.

    I've had a Polestar for around a month now and I really like it. I've had a few Tenaciousessess (Tenaciousi?) over the years and think the Polestar is an improvement and worth the extra bucks. I've heard a few other reviewers say that you can get the Delica for $10 more so the Polestar is overpriced, I actually think the Delica is overpriced.

    • @michadebicki6534

      Delica is shitty plastic baby's knife compared to really well made and universal Polestar.

    It's now 100 bucks here in Germany where the tenacious is around 65 now in 2023. I'm new into Spyderco, my tenacious will come tomorrow being my first Spyderco. Man I'm kinda like the polestar especially in grey, maybe I will buy it 🤔🤔🤔🤔 like your style man 😎😎😎😎

    My wife loves her Tenacious, probably because I was too cheap to buy her a higher end Spydie (because she wouldn't appreciate the value of a more expensive knife)!
    Thanks for the comparison AKB.

    I am not a big spyderco fan. With that said I own 12 of them. You don't have to be a fan of something to see the quality in them. I have been very happy with my tenacious. Imho one of the best under $50 beater knives you can buy.

  • @ebosspt

    I don't know if you know this, but you have a lot of different Spyderco knives. People who work at Spyderco saw that comparison shot and went, "Dang, that's a lot of Spyderco's." But thanks for putting your addictions to work for my entertainment. :) I appreciate you.

    IIRC, the Polestar got its handle shape from the Byrd Raven 2 & used the blade profile & shape from the Tenacious. I do prefer the choil that the Byrd Raven 2 has. It also uses CTS BD1 steel.

    • @AdvancedKnifeBro
      @AdvancedKnifeBro  6 років тому +2

      That's understandable. My youngest bro got one after he seen my PM2, but he wasn't ready to drop that kinda coin onna knife. For $45, it ain't a bad knife. Kinda like a poor man's PM2. Except not as fidget-friendly flicky.

    I think the Polestar is a neat looking knife. And I think BD1 does wear a little better. Though I agree that for a little more scratch I'd go with a better Spyderco. Honestly, the PM2 just kind of lives in my pocket. I thought it was kind of fugly before I got one, but now i get it.

    You voice is in hd in this review so i will review you as an advanced review bro .
    It has improved hd sound , which matters because it booms with quality . Hear cutting sounds is important in any cardboard breakdown . Words like flat grind and satin seem to really stand out because well satin is the indian word for trailer park. Who doesnt want a polestar in their pocket ? Holding a knife and saying tenacious is estetically pleasing mentally. I give you props as gimping was a word used that you have used in at least 50 vids in a row .....we appreciate streaks. Now faults
    Clearly you appreciate your investments so the lack of battoning in this video means that you really dont care about us . In the end i will give this vid a 9 out of 10 than you for the comparisons and really exceptionally tossing this out on an otherwise shitty saturday . Additionally credit for saying eat-a-dick . Well done

      Advanced Knife Bro especially since ganzo is putting out some sweet stuff thats affrodable and quality. Is it benchmade ? Is it spyderco ? No . But the rediculous prices of american knife companies has been talked about enough now that maybe ....just maybe , they will budge and that =yeay. As i can afford to collect them .

  • @gregwalker4236

    like your review! all knives for me bear some resemblance, just as a plumb hammer is similar to a stanley--but slight differences in tools can make a huge difference and i just don't see evaluating this against a much cheaper knife. if slight differences don't matter, i'll just continue using my barlow i had as a kid. to me these two knives you're looking at are apples and oranges, but if price is the only consideration, the tenacious is a fine knife (i have one) but i really like the polestar too....

    • @AdvancedKnifeBro
      @AdvancedKnifeBro  6 років тому +2

      I was reading over on Spyderco forums, where the founder Sal was talking about how the Polestar was an experiment in seeing if people would pay for a more premium version of a knife like the Tenacious. It's why I went with this comparison. Check out the thread, and see his thoughts about halfway down the page.

    Adobe Premiere is a huge step. Although I think it's to expensive so I'll stay with Vegas Pro for the time being. Did you also change the mic because your voice sounds completely different. Oh, btw: In Europe the Polestar is $107 new, which is already a pretty good price comparatively.

    I agree that people worry too much about the blade steel. Though 8Cr13MoV is adequate, there is too much variation in the heat treatement to draw a general conclusion, except that the Chinese makers employed by Spyderco seem to do it well. That said, even the lowly Spyderco Tenacious has been cloned by Chinese makers willing to make them even cheaper and with lesser materials. So, be careful, even if you are seeking the Chinese produced Spyderco budget line.

    • @AdvancedKnifeBro
      @AdvancedKnifeBro  6 років тому +1

      Yep... I think they clone them because they cost so much overseas- but yeah you gotta be careful.

      I was being sarcastic.
      Hence, the cursing.
      : - )
      What I really want, is just three holes. Right-hand, tip up carry only. All of those other holes. Especially those six, around the pivot. Just get filled-up with gunk.

    • @GoldBold563
      @GoldBold563 6 років тому

      Steve Kluver Fuck the tip down people! But why screw southpaw's?

    • @SteveKluver
      @SteveKluver 6 років тому +1

      L o l. Well DRwarnclif. It's not like the Southpaw's are getting the lock-bar moved too. Correct? Then why just the clip? So we can *all* have dirt getting in those holes, all around the pivot? I say, save everybody from that.
      I'm right handed, but do carry in my left pocket. I'm sure many of the left-handers can, or do that as well.
      I also like a beautiful, clutter-free, show side. Can you blame me for that?
      : - )

    • @GoldBold563
      @GoldBold563 6 років тому +2

      Steve Kluver Im ambi. The lockbar is just as easy to disengage with my left hand as with my right. But I get what you mean. Have a lovely rest of your day/night good sir!

    I also care less now about blade steel after having several years of experience with many knives. Once I got an Edge Pro and learned how to use it blade steel was even less of a factor. They will all get dull with enough use, and if you can sharpen it then you have won The Knife Challenge.
    Plus the really expensive knives with the way cool steel are too pretty and too expensive to actually use, so we go out into the great outdoors with our cheap knives.

    If you were to Dremel the edge of your stripper, you’d have a demonstrably better tool. Much better for holding, less need for hand cream. But you would have to lie low until she calmed down and stopped wanting to shoot you in the nutsack. But tbh I wouldn’t want the hassle of smuggling a Dremel I to the club, getting appropriate lighting and stable bench space etc etc. I totally agree on the multi tool thing btw. I got a Leatherman Skeletool with a good old fashioned 154cm blade. I like it more than most strippers.

      They are Wolverine 1000 mile Addisons. I've had them for a few years now. I plan on doing a long term review of them. I shot some footage when I first got them- so stay tuned. I haven't done a boot review yet- so I'm trying to wrap my head around it... I've partially written some stuff- but none of it I've liked.

      Thank you, I will definitely keep an eye on that subscription list. Keep on going man, your videos are great and refreshing and the camera work is top notch. I really like that you break away from the grain of tacticool 3 percenters or wannabe special forces and actually have humor in your videos. Also you actually use your knives, and your knives for what they are actually designed for(minus your batoning demonstrations), I can't believe that this was ever such a revolutionary idea lol. I really hope that this becomes profitable for you because I think you deserve it.

      Advanced Knife Bro Why the switch to Adobe Premier Pro?

    • @AdvancedKnifeBro
      @AdvancedKnifeBro  6 років тому +1

      It was more a work thing. I still use Final Cut Pro, but needed to learn the work flow- so I did most of it in premiere pro for the practice

    You had me at pole star!
    But by the end I was wondering if the barely masked sexual undertones are the reason behind that heavy existential question that seemed to come out of nowhere. I believe the answer lies within the relational complications behind your love declaration. Women rarely understand the impact they have on heterosexual men. Men even less... 🧐🤔 But we got knives! 😋😜🤣🤣🤣
    PS: Premiere Pro is a software I recommend for serious enthusiasts. Used it for 4 years. No longer now.

      You no longer edit- or found something better?

      I’ve been using Final Cut Pro since it came out in he early 2000s... we upgraded at work so I brought a project to get to know the work flow better

      No longer professionally doing video editing. And that was the end of it. I have used Final Cut Pro but it was not better than Edius by Grass Valley which I used the most.

    • @AdvancedKnifeBro
      @AdvancedKnifeBro  6 років тому +1

      Never used that one. It was time at work to upgrade- and I chose Premiere from Final Cut Pro 7- because I know a ton of people use it. I use Final Cut Pro at home- but after High Sierra finally killed the old Final Cut Pro- I need to learn it. So that's why I did this video on it. Now I understand the work flow.
