It's so bizarre with postage isn't it. How some have issues and other don't.... Since the start of the new year I now send all my parcels royal mail tracked 48 and drop them into a parcel box. If they are small parcels. Every single parcel I've sent this year has has been delivered with the green tick to confirm.... Spoke to our local posty and she said that they have to scan the 48/24 parcels or they'll get into trouble. It's saved me so much stress and don't bother insuring things now, all I do with the more expensive items is take them to the post office so I know it's been registered as dropped off. Even though it always has when I've put them in the parcel box. Lol

Charity shops in the more posh and better towns are the way to go with better items. No no the secret is out. I seen a VHS today in a charity shop they weanted £12 wtf £12 for a VHS skateboarding video
I go to my locals now and again as occasionally they mix up games with DVDs so I do get the odd bargain but very very rarely so I do agree
Ralph Lauren shirts round my way are routinely £14, some shops charging £20-£25 and went in an age uk superstore on Saturday and they wanted £40 for a ralph jumper lol

Charity shops got expensive because they do their online research too before pricing items. On my recent visit to one of local shop I enquired about set of glass that were just donated. In the past shop assistant would give you random price and sell it on the spot. This time shop assistant told me they need to check online for how much they sell for to set the price.
Kitchen chef at Chineham is good for Yodel, I park in the back car park as they’re next to dominos. Short drive from your office rather than going into town😊
I also use go outdoors for Evri which is close by 😊
Charity shops are poop because people promote themselves buying really really good things that sell for a lot of profit, this is the case. It would not be like this if people didn't film themselves doing this. So I don't know why people that do this complain about it. You did it to yourselves.

@@RickyResellstbf he's kinda got a point. There's been a lot of new channels popped up in the last year or two which results in an ever increasing number of videos circulating. Combined with other social media platforms and the 'reselling community' gains more exposure. Greater likelihood to be seen by charity shop volunteers who in turn price accordingly/check ebay prices to cut out resellers and make more money for the charity. Whether they actually get the high asking price is another matter given the far smaller customer base vs eBay. It seems logical to me. How else could these crazy prices be explained?

I think folks are struggling so are selling stuff online themselves instead of giving them away to charity shops

I have one independent charity shop by me thats still reasonable but all the big one Cancer research .BHF etc way too expensive now
I'll always panic and play it safe with the exact 1kg items - especially weighing it before adding the label 😂 - last thing I want is Evri charging me more to deliver it or worse Royal Mail charging the customer to pick it up.

I don't even bother with charity shops anymore. They got too greedy now, end of an era. I think they will start struggling if they don't sort themselves out. Better places to source from.
Remember being in a charity shop ages ago and the shop manager was bragging to a customer about how they'd turned the shop around and increased takings. They attributed this to simply making the prices cheaper, making items fly out of the shop.
The charity shops seem to look at eBay and think they're entitled to the same prices. They don't realise that eBay has a global reach. High prices make items sit on shelves not earning them any money. Then they put up signs saying they can no longer accept donations due to not having room.
But still the charity CEOs have to be paid. The median Charity CEO salary was 175k in 2023.

I find it quite strange that when re sellers moan about charity shops charge highish prices for their items and then re sellers then moan that they are highish prices because the re sellers can not make any profit......well the whole idea is for the charity shops to make the profit for obvious reasons.....charity shops are not there for the re sellers to make money but I guess the re sellers do not get that at all......if the re sellers did not do what they do then the charity shops WOULD BE CHEAPER.

Was in a Salvation army charity shop recently. They had a plain Arne t shirt bnwt for £20 and a used Baracuta jacket (Great condition but not a particularly outstanding design) priced up at £80, Anybody who says charity shops are there for poor people are clearly deluded.

What's your usual drills when a well packaged item has been broken in transit to a buyer? Courier was Yodel via Pack link?
Ask buyer for photos of said damage, including the packaging damage. Refund the buyer. Then you make a damage claim with packlink - you won't get anywhere if you contact yodel as your delivery contract is with packlink.
Hopefully your item isn't on their list of goods not covered for damage and was fully insured. Good luck with it as from my own experience they can be hard work!

There was a Vero many years ago with that and Beachbody LLC and whenever everybody was listing them they were getting strikes on the account. It could’ve elapsed now.

Charity shops for the last decade have really upped there game and it is getting harder to find the bargains and you can not say because it for charity, you can not say is that the best price or try and knock money off you end up looking like a bloody dick head
