I've been chatting with Ben Michael and he told me to try local glass shops for this mod. I wound up only spending $33! All I had to do was take the stock Plexi to the shop and they took the measurements! I just couldn't see paying double plus shipping cost. The glass will make such a difference in clarity and a more premium look. Thanks for the video as usual PDubs! I love your channel and all u do for the community!
I really appreciate these videos for the Arcade1Up tables. I ended up gutting my 'Attack from Mars' cabinet and replacing pretty much everything. Replaced static print backglass with an actual monitor, upgraded the playfield to a 32" monitor, replaced plexiglass with a piece of actual glass, and used an ASUS mobo/CPU combo and Nvidia 1660 GPU from my spares to run it all. Now I have access to all my Pinball Arcade/Pinball FX3/Pinball FX and VPX tables all through Pinup Popper, and even developing my own tables. It's been a pure joy! However, my sound still leaves something to be desired so I was super happy to discover this, and your other video on upgrading the sound and I will be taking this path in the coming days. Most of the mod stuff I find with this class of cabinets are for the AtGames versions so I appreciate you sharing mod content on Arcade1Ups. Thanks!
It is worth it. I found the same speaker covers for $8.49 on Amazon and free prime shipping. I was fortunate enough to get my glass when they first started. It cost approximately $50 out the door about a year ago. If you have one of these vpins great mods, and I dare say the glass is a must..
PDubs, thank you for this video!!! I made both of these mods per your recommendation and they just make my Star Wars Pinball machine look absolutely beautiful! Keep the awesome videos and recommendations coming! Much Much Much Appreciated!!!
Great video PDubs!! I ordered this from 19K's video and guess what...mine showed up shattered!! I'm glad to report...I notified the seller and he responded right away with a new tracking number!!! Hopefully I will get it soon and in one piece!!! Thanks again Dubs!!
"I'd buy that for a dollar!!" I think both updates look great PDubs! The speaker grill definitely needs the new black mesh to make that chrome ring pop, but it looks super clean and I'd assume stock if I didn't know better.
I want to do this to my AFM machine but im alittle worries about messing it up. Not knowing what im doing. Thanks for the video, i might try some day.🤙👍🕹🎮
It would be for sure. A lot of people don't even know where their local "glass shop" is so you're mostly paying for convenience of not leaving your home, taking it with you inside places, etc you know it's cut to fit to match etc it's all about options
I like it, pinball machine looks sharp with the extra chrome. Arcade1Up and iiRcade should include tempered glass as standard and do away with the plexi.
It definitely looks cooler with the glass and chrome speakers for sure. I do like the Attack on Mars graphic. Which electric pinball do you think is a better buy? At games or Arcade 1up?
I was able to get a custom piece of glass on order @ a local shop for 35 bucks. Should be here next week. So it's worth shopping around. In your opinion is the black edging on the top and bottom glass necessary or can I go without?
I have all three as well as ALP, when people come over they don’t even bother with the ALP because they don’t understand it too many buttons to push complicated sign in. The arcade 1up just flip the switch on and you good to go. And they look great. If they have Wi-Fi and 1080p I think they would be perfect
@@jefferydossett4733 yeah I really want to upgrade all three, but make it so they stay true to the game set. So on the AFM id have every single williams game from fx3 and so on with the marvel and starwars. Plus my dream would be to have three 32" screens.
I like the idea of the glass, but $70usd? Gonna be well over a hundred bucks cdn once I get it over the border. That prices me outta this one. Will just go to a local glass company if I want to do this.
I went and grabbed my wallet so I could order at the end of your video once I saw how it came together, but $95 shipped is a lot of money just for minor visual upgrade (I totally see the wavy lines stuff now but it's not a showstopper). I guess I need to track down the local glass company. Either way thanks for the video because I would have never thought to try swapping out for true glass had you not done this!
Yeah, you can go to your local glass company and ask them for a custom size for a much lower cost. You can always spray paint the underside of the glass black to block off anything you don't to see through.
@@AlphaTrion92 I think for that reason exactly that as time ticks on I'd say in the next 15 months to 2 years they will go by the wayside because they have priced themselves out of the equation for people still having to do exactly what you said. If they were still $3:00 then totally different story and I would say go for all day long not at 7:00 then to have to put another 2:00 to 250 into it
Links in Description - let me know what you think of these quick and easy pinball mods?
I did both of these. Love the glass. I’m convinced it makes the playfield look brighter / better?….thanks

Thank you David, you're too kind
My opinion the speaker covers make a major difference.. like wow.
Very cool
Thanks Dude!
Great video. I used my old pinball speaker covers for Big Blue. Looks and fits perfect.
I want to do this to my AFM machine but im alittle worries about messing it up. Not knowing what im doing. Thanks for the video, i might try some day.🤙👍🕹🎮
PDUBS, great video, and product presentation. But curious, it it would be cheaper to take the plexi glass and get real glass cut yourself?
It would be for sure. A lot of people don't even know where their local "glass shop" is so you're mostly paying for convenience of not leaving your home, taking it with you inside places, etc you know it's cut to fit to match etc it's all about options
First thing I did on AFM and SW. $74 out the door from my local glass shop.
Some people don't even know where their local glass shop is
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I certainly didn't. I first stopped at the hardware store, they did glass but not tempered glass. They sent me to the glass shop.

No more wavy lines good job mate. Also good Idea saving the original P G one never knows.
Agreed 👍

AtGames...because you can do so much more with it. Arcade1up pinballs are cute but limited in functionality

You can go without
I love these machines despite some of their obvious flaws
They satisfy the itch for some, they are cute but limited.

If you are in Canada...wellllllll...then that makes sense.
You can find this on Etsy for $49.99. Seems to be the same specs.

LOL I caved and paid the $100 after all. Thanks again for the link PDubs!
I got this 2 months ago and I couldn't agree more but that grill cover looks interesting....hmmmmm
All that chrome....
How are the reflections with the glass?
Normal
Looks cool but it should come with the glass to begin with … If I owned the 1up pinball I’d probably do the same
You know 1Up..make em as pretty but as cheaply as possible
Haha, my man. 🦊👊🏼
Lol thumbnail is hilarious
I got my glass at my local hardware stored 11 bucks!
Lucky guy!
