I couldn't but my cousin did. Unfortunately he would die later on. I never saw the ending until UA-cam.

I've always loved the art style of Battletoads. The original NES version was a bit too hard for me, but I still played it, because it was fun and great to look at. I have the new Battletoads game on my Steam Wishliist and it looks to be coming out today. I have so many games right now on my backlog that I probably won't pick it up day one, but I will be picking it up. Great cabinet build!

This looks so awesome brother! Funny enough, I wanted to do an a1up mod project of the new TMNT cartoon 4 player arcade. Had a blast playing it with my kids at an arcade during vacation, this sparks that desire even more. Good stuff as always!

That's awesome! I hadn't thought of using an Xbox One in an A1Up. Will the Brooks encoder wake up the xbox from sleep (i.e. what's the process to turn your unit on?)? Also, I didn't realize that xbox one would output different aspect ratio (the A1Up doesn't look 16:9).

My local retro arcade had Battletoads on freeplay with unlimited credits, but I never bothered to get to the end.
I was able to conquer the speeder bike as a kid, but definitely not now.

Awesome cab! How did you get the cutout for the eight button control panel. Did you manually have to cut out the extra button from the graphic or were they able to do that for you. Trying to see how much it would run me for the panel, the art, and the plexi?

yea, unfortunately those parts are pretty much unplayable on the arcade set up. Luckily they are short, so I can just plug in a controller to get past them and then go back to the arcade controls.
How do you connect the Brook Fighting boards to the Xbox one? If I get an Xbox One S digital edition, will that still work for this mod or do I need the original Xbox one console version? Awesome mod btw! 🎉

the twin stick portions are pretty much unplayable on the fightstick unfortunately, the rest are fine.

So you used the arcade 1up, but the screen is a 4:3 ratio. Does is squish the image? Extremely curious cause I have an extra Xbox one that I would to put in for KI!!

Assuming you did some control panel modification to get those joysticks and all the buttons to fit inside the frame correctly?
Only thing I had to do was dremel a small portion off the side of the player 1 joystick base to prevent it from touching the side of the cabinet when installed. No modifications necessary to the control panel itself.

Hi. Added Battletoads to my Launchbox Based Cabinet via Xbox Gamepass for PC. However as only one Joystick I couldn't control properly. How did you get round this? (My cab has same IL Joysticks and 8 buttons as yours does).

Did you go mostly digital on your Xbox or do you have to pull the arcade out to change discs?
I didn’t put the back panel back on the arcade, so it’s very easy for me to change discs if need be
I want to Replicate my version of your Cab! I have the Marvel Vs. Capcom Cab coming from BestBuy on the 16th... And the new Xbox is coming out.... I want to use my Xbox One X, and Xbox 360 to build a real Xbox Live Arcade machine.

But I basically want the same arcade as you except Orange Sticks and Buttons for player two to use Green(P1) and Orange (P2) which is the scheme of the Xbox Live Arcade colors. And with Xbox Art Work.

Maybe I missed it but do the usb encoders plug directly into the xbox and work or is there button config needed? And, how do you power it on, manually from behind the cabinet or does it come on and load the game when power is applied?
Yes the encoders plug directly into the Xbox via usb. No button configuration needed, you just wire up the buttons, and joysticks to the corresponding labeled inputs on the board. I can power the xbox one on and off using the purple buttons on the control deck.

this is the stock arcade1up monitor, and no the xbox one requires special usb encoders

How to did fit the Joysticks on the panel?
I had to dremel off a small portion of the player 1 joystick to get it to not hit the side of the cabinet when installed, everything else just fit on the panel like normal.
How much money would you say you put into the cabinet?
not including the Xbox since I already had it somewhat laying around, I would say somewhere near $500
Make this arcade of that game is horrible that game is not even developed by rare it makes the real arcade vintage version looks like master piece .why Microsoft then buy rare? Only killer instinct worth but is horrible the rest
