Can the spare tire rack be removed, then lay down the tire in the bed and secure it somehow? I know it would eat up bed space, but just thinking in terms of adding a bed cover of some kind later.
No, it’s not a standard feature. I’ve talked to engineers from both brands, and it was just a decision that GMC and Chevrolet made differently. You can add them after the fact if you so choose.
Unfortunately they don’t make a lift for the at4x the AEV edition comes standard with a factory 4.5 inch lift and 35s you won’t be able to mimic that on the aftermarket world unfortunately. I got my allocation in on an AEV now I work at a GMC dealership in sales unfortunately with the strikes we won’t see the these till end of next spring early summer
Not worth 68 grand. I drove a loaded zr2 bison but decided not to buy it as my gas mileage would have sucked having to drive several times from northeast tn up to visit with my daughter in richmond,va. So I just bought a 2024 zr2 in harvest bronze metallic color for 50,700.00. Saved a good 12 grand over buying a zr2 bison model truck. I will just put bigger 295/70R17 tires on my truck and buy after market bumpers and skid plates.
The canyon as well as the Colorado need lower gearing. Give us 4:88s with the 35 in tires. 4:10s with the 33s. 3:42s off road are terrible. You just spin in loose conditions. Even in 4wd. Plus the traction control Is a hinderance. You cannot completely shut it off. Its just sad. My 21 Tacoma has 3:91s and That has never once spun the tires off road. In all kinds of mud, loose rocks, hills, off camber flexing etc... I get way better fuel economy as well. 16mpg in a 4 banger is a joke! I consistently get 23mpg around town in the taco. Don't get me wrong I love GM. Though ever since my 2019 AT4, with the 6.2 started burning oil and 30 plus recalls. I had to switch to Toyota. I have owned 8 plus GM trucks over the years. I never had any serious issues till my 2019 AT4. When you drop 60k on a vehicle. Then instantly have 30 plus recalls They have no fix for. It leaves a BAD taste in your mouth. How they feel they can charge as much as they do is beyond me. They should be ashamed. Now 4 years later, we have 60 plus grand for midsize and 100 plus grand for full size is a complete scam!! If I have to Ill just go back to the original 4wd a.k.a. A Horse.
Quite the upscale off-road package. Are the wheels 17 or 18 inch? All reviewers seem to talk about is 33's and 35's. Also, do the tail lights come on automatically ? There are far too many folks driving around with tail lights off!
I wouldn't buy solely on the spare tire...id rather a 33in spare to get me to the shop to plug or replace...no way im blocking view or using uo bed space...most people are not gonna take extreme off roading...not with this truck
You can remove the spare as an option I work at GMC dealership and already have my allocation in just hasn’t been accepted and won’t be for some time due to the strikes but when I put together my order there’s an option to remove the spare tire. I opted to remove as I’m in the same boat I don’t care for it.

This truck doesn't have the Multimatic hydraulic bump stops like the ZR2 Bison has?
I believe it's an option, which is ridiculous. You can see the brackets for them behind the rear tire in the video.

which is better Canyon or Colorado, same truck different body? GMC has always been more expensive!
