this show is so precious to me! it stimulates my creative spirit and it makes me want to go deeper into my mind and discover new ways of creating. I'm a totebag designer.
"How far can a needle carry you?" Wow, that's inspiring. This is a lovely video and I've always been interested in the AIDS quilt project. Heart breaking and heart warming at the same time.
I Enjoyed the quilting part of this because it reminded me of my grandmother. When I was really young I remember her piecing small pieces of material together to make a quilt top. As the woman said you had to make quilts to keep the children warm.
Great video! I enjoyed seeing the different crafts especially pottery and quilting! This video inspires me to start back painting which is something I use to do. Painting was very therapeutic for me.
This is my favorite of the series & I love to come back to it again & again, it's just so inspiring, thank you to all who make & made this possible 🙏🇿🇦
There's a wonderful little book The Quilt by a man who spent summers on the Iron Range in northern Minnesota with his grandmother as a child. Farms were far apart and towns farther, so when a baby was due, women from throughout the area would gather to help with the birthing. They'd work on a quilt with pieces cut from clothing of people who had died and tell stories of each person represented there, for remembrance.
This is beautiful on every level!! We need more folks like this...folks who work with hand and heart. Crafting and artisan communities are imperative socially and economically. Thank you for sharing this with us. Blessings from sunny FL. :-)
I especially enjoyed the quilting part, and the last lady's story. The only thing I think was a little strange was how few people of color go to Penland; not sure if that if for financial reasons or what, but it struck me as odd.

Absolutely love this.... Brings back so many memories of my granny quilting for hours.
I love how it's not just art it's a community and a family. So many people coming together to make and learn art.
I love the quilting ladies, I made a quilt top in the 70s with my great grandmother. It’s always in my heart spending time with her.❤️

Such an amazing programme 🌸
I loved watching the loom, I use to have one and would use it all the time to create pieces of fabric.
Art should be functional as well as beautiful to look at. That’s what is so great about quilting.

This video was very interesting and taught me a lot about different types of crafting in the community!
What an interesting and informative video! I especially enjoyed the quilting part of this video, as I am familiar with this form of art.

What an interesting, informative and inspiring film. Can't understand why two meanies have given it a thumbs down. What's not to like?
Because of ignorance x
@@normathomas8276 I'd say deeper than ignorance - arrogance; the base of which is fear, fear, and perhaps jealousy of artistry, beauty and community.
It's called jealousy.
love this!!!!
I am a Wisconsin girl and my heart is deep in the craft
