Andre, you do you but you can TOTALLY play the Rescue Rangers theme at your wedding if you get married. We used the Moon Theme from the NES Ducktales game at our wedding...best decision EVER!
@@heidichrist4000 Seriously. It was the entrance music for the wedding party to the reception. Not everyone got the reference, but it was still nice music for those who did. Now knowing what I know about the reboot tv show....the song has a second meaning, especially as we both lost our mothers that year. We had a semi geeky wedding. I walked down the aisle to Zelda's Lullaby, we had zelda cupcakes for dessert, hell there were quite a few Zelda touches throughout as that was the main theme...without going overboard. We also had a few video game sound effects play during the ceremony and reception. Secret unlocked for the exchanging of the rings is the main one that comes to mind.
"I'm the collector's item you never remove from the box!" Funny thing is, that does sound like something Darkwing Duck would actually say in the cartoon.
There is no way you can just randomly pick and have a favorite Duck Nephew without watching the totally radical Quack Pak! Clearly someone's got secrets!
I love the Disney Afternoon, Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles were my favorite. I especially love the comic for Darkwing, it may be my new favorite comic. They need to bring back those books so they can bring back Morgana!!! I AM THE TERROR THAT FLAPS IN THE NIGHT! I AM THE LIVE ACTION REBOOT THAT RUINS YOUR NOSTALGIC MEMORIES! I AM A GIANT NERD!
Cool Man,I love the disney afternoon ,Ducktales,Chip'n Dale Rescue Rangers,Goof troop,Bonkers,Darkwing Duck,I have The Disney afternoon Collection as well on the PS4 ,Great pick ups man
Finally another rescue rangers fan! We gotta get you on The Acorn Cafe site. FYI, you're missing a ton of comics. Ducktales had a different run as well as CDRR & DW (think tail spin too) in the '90's. Those were cool & had their own plots separate from the show & Disney afternoon comics.
I only really have vague memories of a lot of Disney Afternoon shows (a combination of being born in '93 and not really having Disney channel much) but I love watching you get to talk about stuff you love in your videos! :) You're always super funny and happy in them, they make me smile.
The Disney Afternoon aired in syndication. Some of the early shows would get preview runs on The Disney Channel and would air on TDC's Block Party after they ended, but the block itself wasn't a TDC exclusive. It aired on local stations in various markets.
I didn't know that, I grew up in Canada so some of our Channels were different, but I do remember watching at least some Disney shows growing up so that must be where I saw them! :)
That was also my experience with the Disney Afternoon shows! I also grew up in Canada, and I've seen most of the movies but I don't think the shows were playing where I lived. The Scrooge McDuck A Christmas Carol movie defintely played every year but otherwise, I didn't have access to them.
Yes! I would love to see a video talking about ads in old comics. I'm collecting the old Disney Afternoon comics as well and it's always fascinating to see what was being promoted at that time. It shows a lot how things have changed.
Aw man! Those statues really make me envious! Darkwing Duck was by far my favorite show on the Disney Afternoon. Rescue Rangers was my second favorite- my brother and I really related to the protagonists (I loved Chip and he really liked Dale) and even back then I thought Gadget was one of the coolest characters on the show.
I just got the image of Darkwing Duck having to do the super hero registration in Civil War. "And, what is your superhero identity sir?" "I am the terror the flaps in the night! I am the noun the verbs your other noun. I... am DARKWING DUCK!" "... Ok. I'll put you down with Howard the Duck."
I also love the ads in my old comics. It is how I ordered my Sea Monkeys back in the day. Love love the DW duck and Duck Tales resin figures. Those are beautiful. Have never seen those.
Oh my gosh! I remember the Disney Adventure Magazine. We only had one issue but it was such a bright and colorful magazine. There was a Nickelodeon equivalent too if I recall. ☺
I was born in 1998 but I absolutely love the Disney Afternoon collection of shows. Unfortunately I've had to watch a majority of them sub-legally but they're still always awesome to watch. Can't want for the Ducktales reboot and I hope they do more.
That's awesome! What's even more awesome is that it's Scrooge in his blue Duck Tales outfit! Which means it's definitely the Disney Afternoon version of Scrooge! :D And that seals it.... Darkwing Duck!!! Seriously, they NEED to make a Rescue Rangers version of these statues! I'd totally rob a bank for a Gadget one. ^.^; ;)
I remember Disney Adventures magazine. They had a 3-D issue every year. And they even reprinted some of Jeff Smith's Bone in that magazine for a little while.
I miss these cartoons so much! Some of my other favorite Disney cartoons arent the Afternoon variety but I loved Recess, The Weekenders, House of Mouse...dangit Disney! Make a channel with ALL of your past cartoons!
Think I still have a ton of Disney Adventures, I was mainly getting them for the comics. I loved that overarching cross over with that creepy red jewel Baloo and Rebbecca stumbled across which wound up infecting Goofy and somehow bridging the gaps between dimensions because Darkwing and Ducktales may be part of the Goof Troop universe, but Rescue Rangers was always meant to be a separate universe, and yet I believe they encountered that twisted red necklace deal too.
100%. Sounds like an awesome idea. Marketing and ads from the 80's and 90's is so cool. Just look how popular the Nostalgia Critic's many commercial videos are.
Yo.... That Trapper Keeper though... You just brought up old memories of excitement for school supply shopping from when I was a child! I used to want to get the dopest Dragonball Z and other anime folders; I used to trace the characters in class and get in trouble and stuff hahaha!
I have been looking at that giant Darkwing Duck figure for years in the background of your videos wondering were it came from. Awesome video as always, keep up the good work.
A lot of the Disney Afternoon shows started to get releases on iTunes and other digital platforms (US only) from Summer 2016, including a remastered version of Rescue Rangers and Goof Troop.
Hey Andre, did you know that the original voice actor for Gizmoduck was named Hamilton Camp, and he is now being voiced by Lin Manuel Miranda (aka Alexander Hamilton). COINCIDENCE, I THINK NOT!
The Center For Puppetry Arts in Atlanta just swapped Grover out for Herry Monster in the Sesame display case and they posed Herry in this weird crouching position. They also slapped a huge number 9 in front of him.
I wish they'd put Bonkers on DVD and release the last few Seasons of the Muppets. I know Muppets weren't part of the Disney Afternoon, but Disney needs to complete the collections.
Fun fact- Singing the Rescue Rangers theme in a David Bowie voice works strangely well (See also Muppet Babies). Fab video as always Andre, full agreement re the Rescue Rangers theme (I used to watch it with my bro while eating cheese and digestives for some reason).
OMG Andre... that is some of the coolest stuff i have ever seen... i love it... i almost teared up when u were talking about Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 for the NES... my mom gave my old NES to my little cousin about 10-15 years ago... and sure enough, Chip n Dale 2 was part of the collection (of course we didnt know what we had either)... fast forward to about 2-3 years ago, my cousin wants me to take him the the video game store, to sell some NES games... they offered him just under $100 for Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers 2... and u know how places like that low ball u... so i can only imagine what it was worth... and that was WITHOUT THE BOX!!! i wanted to push him over and run out of the store with my game :(... my mom always had a way of giving away all of my childhood things... like my TMNT collection... my car collection... ok let me stop before i cry lol... thanks for sharing your collection Andre... its AMAZING
Andre it's because of you that I now have a snes, the shout factory box set of the original transformers series ( and the movie ) and a lot of 80s and 90s things. you are awesome keep on doing what you're doing. :)
I try not to give in to my collector-impulses because I know I have the potential (but not the money or space) to go crazy with it ... but damn, that Launchpad pop vinyl! ❤
Wow Guizmo Duck confirmed!! Fenton looks a little diffrent, but I am okay with that, curious to how he will be. Oh I wish I can become a voice actor in time and voice him. I freaking loved Fenton as a kid. Yes Andre the Rescue Rangers theme is my favorite too. Listen to the Swedish one if you like. That one is really incredible, but be sure to listen to the second version, we got 2. Cool figures, I might buy some myself if I ever find them at a convention. I am really curious abot that Darkwing Duck comic and the Ducktales crossover. Just wow so much cool stuff. But most of all I want the dvd to be complete. Please Disney and Sweden I just want to buy your stuff is that to much to ask?!
Andre "Black Nerd" I'm in the process of finishing up my Associates Degree in Accounting. P.S. you just made my whole week by commenting! P.P.S I loved your cameo in the Angry Video Game Nerd Movie!!!!
Ducktales, Chip-N-Dale Rescue Rangers, and Duckwing Duck have more collectibles maybe more popular. Gummi Bears were awesome plus Talespin was cool, too. The late '90s Disney Afternoon may some collectibles. It still fun that Gadget's GO GO Coaster is still at Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland when most of the kids of today don't know Rescue Rangers. What about Gargoyles, Goof Troop, or Bonkers? Any merch from those shows? I have a Gargoyles comic, and I'm pretty sure I had one of those Goof Troop and Bonkers toys from Burger King when I was a kid. Oh, but Disney Adventures and the NES games... talk about nostalgia! I still own mine. Need to make a collection of the DVDs, but I probably still have my VHS tapes.

@@ShadowSync That's awesome, that being said I also quoted in the comment section of this video when Andrew said 'Ducktales, ATchoo.'
MAD RESPECT, BRO!!! 👊
"I'm the collector's item you never remove from the box!"

Ryan Robotham I actually think he said that once! 😂
I'll have to rewatch lol
Any excuse, eh? ;-)
Ryan Robotham you never too old for candy
@@filmfangirls9163 I know he said "I am the surprise in your cereal box", before. Specifically in "Darkly Dawns the Duck", part two!

Lin Manuel Miranda is Fenton in DuckTales!? My life is complete.
I somehow missed this video back in the day. The DuckTales reboot is how I discovered him.
I still remember running home after school and skipping on homework to watch the disney afternoon.
The second I heard "Daring duck" I started singing along as my wallet gently weeped. To quote General Zod, "I WILL FIND HIM!!"
I could not be more hyped over the new Ducktales. I can not wait!

Andre it feels like I am watching a Disney afternoon cartoon
A video on weird 1990's comic book ads? Yes, please! Thanks for the video and giving the Rescue Rangers theme some love! I adored that show as a kid!

I was so happy watching this. I've got the Darkwing Duck comics, including the most recent ones. And woah, Those figurines are so cool!

I also spotted VR Troopers on that Power Rangers ad! I loved that show almost as much as Mighty Morphin'!
