yeah I've been following this series to learn the game as a new player. I bounced off the game previously because of how overwhelming it is without any in-game tutorials. And I didn't really want to learn the game by reading 100s of wiki pages either. Started enchanting for the first time today after watching his video on it.

I don't think the mountain in the end of the video was from the survival guide world. I think that was the footage he showed from amplified world earlier in the video.
Very clear and concise….so helpful. For those wanting to create world seeds for both Bedrock and Java players to use, create the Bedrock version first, then share the seed ID to Java players. This will ensure both groups can use the same seed without having to know the numerical limits….just know there are fewer available to Bedrock, so start with the Bedrock version.
A note on world seeds: For non-numeric seeds, Java and Bedrock use the same method of converting them into a numeric seed withing the signed integer type number range that both editions share. However, generating a random world on Java edition without specifying any seed at all will with almost 100% probability pick a random seed that Bedrock edition cannot use. That said, identical seeds on both editions will only have the same terrain and cave generation. The placement of "features" (e.g. trees) will be different.

I'm really excited about this new series, especially because of the old minecraft survival guide (some days i would binge watch then for 8 hours a day and finish like 20 episodes), and i hope it wont end as quickly as the hardcore survival series, and i really want it to last as long as the first one.
I was hoping you would start a fresh world for 1.18. Love your initial series and watched a ton of it despite being a very casual off and on player (played a decent number of hours but haven't ever even been to the end lol). Excited to see how you progress in your new series starting with 1.18.
To anyone who did not know: This idea is not mine but there is a possibility to make your hardcore world playable again after you died, it is not deleted, unless you play on REALLY old versions. You can press on "Open to LAN" in the world menu and this way enable the cheats. Type in "gamemode survival/creative/spectator/maybe also Adventure and you can reach it again. You will notice that survival actually remains hardcore, but you should be able to play normally again. Nevertheless awesome video, Pixlriffs! :)

Prior to 1.18 all bedrock seeds had an equivalent biome map in Java, tho for negative seeds some additional calculation was required. I’ve not yet done any testing on the newly advertised seed parity, but it does excite me. Tho as a rule of thumb, if you want a random seed that’s the same in both versions, make the Bedrock world first
I've checked it, terrain and biomes are the same across BE and JE. However structures are NOT the same (really sad about that) Still, seed parity is a great step forward and I'm glad we no longer need to do any maths to make seeds (mostly) match
A note regarding seed numbers on Bedrock Edition: at the time of writing, a new Bedrock Edition beta was just released which fixes the remaining issues with seed parity! Bedrock seeds from beta **1.18.20.21** are 64-bit, and will generate the same terrain as Java Edition seeds. Once this reaches the full release, everyone will be able to reproduce the same Minecraft worlds on both Bedrock and Java, regardless of the seed number!

I always use the bonus chest just because I can just use the wooden pick to jump straight into stone tools and not waste time with the wooden set at the start of a new world 🤷♂️ I've been playing since the alpha days so it's really just a matter of convenience

an important thing to add about peaceful mode is that some items will be impossible to get since they only drop from monsters that wont spawn

@@MoriShep Piglins spawn as passive mob in peaceful so you still can barter for ender pearls.

Note: there will be some differences between java and bedrock generation. Some structures may not spawn, etc
