  • How To Play The Puck Behind The Net: Make more wrap around saves by understanding how to follow the player and react to their moves behind the cage. Sal Stalteri, one of Dahan's top instructors, puts on a clinic for two U14 goalies.
    4 key teaching moments:
    - Avoid moving your feet after a shot is taken - see 04:45
    - Check your windows before sliding when a player is behind the net - see 07:11
    - Get up on every rebound "going up-ice" instead of sliding - see 08:50
    - Recover in a ready-stance when the puck is in your zone - see 09:35
    If you have any questions about goalie training or what you can do to improve your game, leave a comment.

    Great video. Would love to see one with some beginners and how you'd teach some concepts and techniques with them.

    Dahan is awesome. It's a pity I don't live in Toronto, otherwise I'd be looking to get lessons there.

    Not sure if this happens to any other goalies but lately on the ice that voice pops in my head "you are not done do something". Kind of a blessing and a curse at the same time. But thanks anyways.

    What’s the best way to close 5 hole when a shooter on the breakaway cuts across as they come in tight? Also drills to help snap that trailing pad to the ice?

    • @Dahanhockey
      @Dahanhockey  3 роки тому +3

      3 things you can do:
      1. Slide with your paddle down, covering your 5-hole
      2. Get your blade to face vertically along your body to poke-check the player when they cut across
      3. Stay on your feet a little longer

    hey Nick ( I think thats your name ) I recently stumbled upon your videos and I thought your pointers and tips that you made were really smart and I was looking into maybe ging into a camp of yours then I found out that you coach in Canada. So I was wondering where your camps or sessions are hosted and to see if there are any within range of Minnesota or Ontario. thanks
