    Too create the off balance between the two you can simple print 1 wheel with 10% infill and the other at 100%. This can also be done with any of the version that have multiple "blades" (eg Duality), to offset 1 wheel print 1/4 of the blades at a significantly higher infill

    Did you ever think about making a 3 loop design? It would be a little more difficult but more of an effect on the eyes.

    Beautiful realization! I have watched this video a dozen times and am trying to figure out how the pawl towards the wall (the fixed pawl) does not simply re-catch on the same sprocket valley after the moving pawl (attached to the white disk) causes a brief reversal. Can you explain how it remains ejected long enough to allow the impulse rotation to iterate to the next groove? Thank you for any help you can provide! I am so new to this.

      Thanks for asking.
      These questions are always welcome. :)
      Magnets are attached to the both of two pawls.
      The two magnets are installed in the direction of pulling each other.
      The fixed pawl was re-catched to the next sprocket valley by interaction of magnetic force. (When the moving pawl intersects the fixed pawl, the fixed pawl is pulled downward).
      If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
      In the next video, I will try to express the principle in more detail.
      Thank you.

    Really nice. 👍 ...would love it if you could make it run a bit longer! 👍😎 Maybe you can try a ceramic bearing plus copper rod 😁

    Nice work! Can I check what is the internal diameter of your steel tube? External is 8mm and your thread is M5. So does it work if the internal diameter is 6mm?

    • @housdrmoon
      @housdrmoon  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! Thank you for your interest on my kinetic art.
      The inner diameter is 4.2 mm.
      Make an M5 thread in the inner hole.
      Thanks:)

    Hello! I'd like to ask about the spring you used. It looks like a constant force spring instead of a constant torque spring. May I know where you got the springs?

      Hi!
      I purchased the constant force spring from the link below.

      load is 0.4kgf
      I hope you can order it in your area.

      @@housdrmoon I had made the 3D model but not tested yet. It's hard to simulate what will happen when magnets are involve. I am guessing I will have to do a lot of trial and error.
      Great job on your magnet trigger!

      @housdrmoon  3 роки тому +1

      Yes. You are right. Actually, my initial concept of magnet trigger has 5 spots to attach magnets. but after lots of trials and errors, final concept has just 2 spots. Good experience! :)

      @@housdrmoon I love your designs and your that you honor the work of Roy. Thank you for sharing these detailed videos! I am planning to build one of these in the next few months. Would a weaker spring help a light-weight version such as yours run slower and therefore longer, rather than only thinking about increasing weight?

    • @housdrmoon
      @housdrmoon  3 роки тому

      @@MissBrefunk
      Thanks for your valuable comment.
      I'm thinking based on the energy equation when considering about how to make this work slower and longer.
      KINETIC ENERGY = (1/2) * m * v^2.
      In order to maintain the rotation for a long time and slower, the kinetic energy must be increased while decreasing the speed (v). Therefore, it seems to be necessary to increase the mass (m).
      My some tests show that using a weaker spring with same mass tends to reduce the speed and also shorten the run time.
      As i learned from David C. Roy's video, he use another wheel to increase running time. it is like gear ratio. by using one more ring, force of the spring is divided, and the number of rotating could be increased.
      Maybe, there are many ways to increase running time. And i will test it. ^^
      I wish your successful project, and we look forward to seeing you with a more complete next product. :)
      Thanks~

    Can you make these small and lightweight?

    • @housdrmoon
      @housdrmoon  3 роки тому

      Thanks for your comment. :)
      I think it can be made small. However, the weight affects the rotation speed and duration time. It seems to be important how light it is.
      By the way, Do you mean portable level?
