The regulation of the battery is what's blowing my mind 🤯 like why the hell does it have a computer if it can't figure itself out when it's being put back in top shape
I have a 750 li , 2007 . I just changed my solenoids in the tranny because it wouldn’t go into gear , said transmission malfunction, after replacing solenoid it’s still saying the same thing and battery keeps going dead , I’m now going to replace the battery and hopefully that makes the transmission malfunction go away
You missed a step, at the 2:04 mark, on the red cap covering the positive terminal, there is a little round removable tab on the left side of the cap, remove that, that tab is inserted into the battery vent on the opposite side of the battery, yes there is 2 vents.
I can’t find where to put the “breathe air” connection on the battery. Do I have to program the battery to the car if I’m only trying to warm the engine up a few times per week?
I saw in another video, if you keep a 12V power supply connected to the car under the bonnet (where you would jump start from) through the battery swap process, then you don't need to go through the registration process. No fancy equipment required.
the purpose of the registration is to "inform" the DME that the battery is new, so it can be charged accordingly. If you swap batteries like you said, the car will think it is still an old battery and may overcharge it, reducing battery life. Registration is important, my last battery died in 6 months because it wasn't registered properly.
if i dont register it.and only use the battery to move the car a few feet like 3times and then disconnect the terminals. Will it still be good for future use if battery is disconnected and stored??
Hola como esta yo tengo un e65 bmw they changed the engine but didn’t connect the power cable to the cams now no crank no start no fuel pump and student cluster no lights They tried jump starting it what do you think 🤔
You battery is not going to receive the proper charge from the alternator causing a premature damage to your battery or alternator. The battery registration needs to be done so vehicle relearn how to charge the new battery properly to optimize its life and capacity.
Francisco Amaya , tnx for the info. Was asking because I know 2 people with different experience with the AGM battery issue. All both of BMW e90, one replaced with normal battery without registration and so far its worked fine, the other lady did same and has been having issues ever since with her car. But maybe cos the e65 is a more complex machine to deal with.
Hi, I Am having charging only at 13.5-13.8V and after a short drive, my battery is not charged properly, so it can happend that It does not start afterwards, or playing the radio for a while will drain so low, that Engine will not start.... and so on. I have changed a new Alternator and new Battery H2SO4 Acid one 100Ah 900A , and of course did not register immediatelly, (just 4 months later after replacement) and recently, I found out, that the OEM Battery is a AGM type, so I am really curiouse if changing the battery back to AGM type will fix my issue ... What is your opponion gents ?
Francisco Amaya my alternator went bad so I replaced it in my 750 Li so I replaced the alternator and it still has the original battery but before I change the alternator I put a new battery because I didn’t know what was the problem so I replaced the new battery with the same old one I recharged it do I still need to register it & would that cause like for instants my door not to shut it will be the passenger front side that also my trunk won’t open by itself?
I am not sure about that one. You can buy this one www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B019QCG5RE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511884648&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=bmw+battery+registration+tool&psc=1 It said that it support battery registration.

great video thanks ~
Do you have to turn off the battery before disconnecting it? Cause there’s a button you slide to turn on or off
Thanks for info. My question is how to switch battery on in the luggage compartment ? This appears in the check screen e662007
You don’t have to register. Not registering just makes it not last as long. Like about a year or more
if i dont register it.and only use the battery to move the car a few feet like 3times and then disconnect the terminals. Will it still be good for future use if battery is disconnected and stored??
thanks man
Thanks for the info 👍🏻

If you replace the battery in the 750 and the car won’t start or say anything what should I do
Probably a fuse is broken or it is properly connected.
Olá Francisco tudo bem tenho uma 760i 2004 troquei a bateria fazendo o mesmo procedimento mas o carro parou de funcionar o ar condicionado
What happens if you don't register the battery?
