Great video. Mine issue for my E66 was the TCU and bought a used one on Ebay and put it in according to this demo and Bluetooth and all are working great again. Thanks!
Must be a common issue with these. My satnav module stays awake and keeps the idrive screen on even after locking the doors and drains the battery. Do you know if a new module will need coding?
@@GeorgeAusters I took mine to the dealership and learned that my TCU was the reason for my IDrive staying on to drain the battery. I replaced mine and so far the car starts with no problem but I'm watching to see if it fails. I'll let you know how things turn out.

Hey I order the same piece and it’s the sat nav module. Radio came right on. So could you recommend a place, I could order one with the newest maps to go with it?
Hi, i owned a facelifted e66 v8 2006 750li, i ve been driving it for few years alrd and this issue keep happening but it never actually cause any real problem so i kinda ignore it, but it still annoy me and im not sure what cause the issue , hope u can help me out. I live in VietNam South East Asian country , the traffic here is quite slow so most the time i drive with speed under 30 miles/hour. This issue only happen after i start the engine and drive for 10-15 minus, and it mostly happen when i start driving uphill and slowly accelerate from around 25 miles/ h to 35 miles/h and that is when the car start a series of vibration/ shaking that i feel like it come from under/below the car. The vibration/shaking come in waves, it vibrating for like 2 seconds and then stop for like 0.5 sec and then vibrate again 2 secs and repeat few times. When i almost reach the top of the hill , it stop. I really confuse about this and its been happening for years and no mechanic in my city can actually figured out the issue correctly. Please help me out on this , thank u so much.
Thank so much, it's really helpful. I am facing issue with sound only it's mute and resume by itself. I don't know if dust could do that issue or I need to replace last part.
Really good video. However, everything for me works but the sat nav just stays on the loading screen and i'm unable to remove the disc...At least I know now its not the module and just the actually Sat Nav unit.
thanks for your video, on my e65 i got a problem with the speakers because now only 1 works behind the backseat, but sometimes the front speakers work for a few minutes, same with the bmw warning BONG i only hear it sometimes, you think i can check your method or is it the ask unit which i have to repair?
I was told by the dealership that my cracking noise and intermittent radio sound were due to a faulty aerial tuner module. Have you worked on these before and if so do you have a video to show how to remove and replace them? Thanks
I don't have a video actually (something I could look to do) but the module that you mention is found in the left hand rear C pillar behind the trim, it can be a bit of a pain to get to but shouldn't take much more than around 10 mins. It can be replaced without any coding required though so should hopefully fix your issue! 👍
Thank you, what is the name of the fiber optic tool used to bypass the modules? Just did a alternator bracket gasket on a 745li and now the navigation system or nothing is working. It displays everything but 0 sound and no stations will display .

Hi that’s a great video ! Be great to get your advice on something ... I have an e66 was imported from Japan last year. The sat nav is in Japanese and showing a map of Japan as the car thinks it’s there. Also the tv is in NTSC and want to get it to PAL to pick up the stations here in the UK Would you any idea about this ? Thanks again
Hello, Asking if you may know, if any of my fiber optic cable at the trunk is broken/cut, let’s say from the gps module, will I still be able to use the bypass kit for other fiber line to run the system normally without the module with the broken/cut fiber optic line?
Marko Ilic I didn’t have the correct one for the connector that I needed to bypass. There wasn’t as many of the MOST bypass kits available at the time as there are now. However if you take a look at this kit on Amazon then you should get what you need to carry out a bypass. Great video Kev! I noticed that you have the same telecommunication module as on my e65 2005 facelift. Can you please give me some advices what I should do since my android Samsung A9 2018 it sees the module but when I am trying to connect by bluetooth it asks that pin number of four digits and I don't know where or how to find those since are not as on 2006 modules written after PK mark. If I will replace it with an 2007 module with PK on it, it might work as well?
I’m not sure actually mate, I am totally unable to connect any devices via Bluetooth to my car, I have the factory installed telephone in mine which uses the Bluetooth, there appears to be no way to make any other devices connect. At least that’s the case with my car, I did read somewhere that 2008 on models were able to do that but have not been able to confirm or deny this! Sorry I can’t be any more help bud 👍🏻

If there is no red light at your connection then the problem is at a different point in the system. Perhaps check the CD changer in the dash as this is a common failure point! You'll know when you find the problem area as you should see red light in the connection.
That will achieve nothing mate, each module within the MOST circuit requires power as it acts as a bridge for the last module all the way back to the ASK unit. if one of the modules is faulty or has no power then it can't transfer data to the next. If I remember correctly I did explain this in the video though!
