Dude I can't even describe to you how good this album is, I promise it'll keep growing on you listen after listen! absolutely perfectly written and produced.
I already noticed that in the reaction for the basement some hours later. It was difficult for me to say which one was my favourite song since they sound better and better each time I hear them
Pretty subtle catch in bodysnatchers about the music industry. This is their first album done after their record deal expired. They recorded, produced and released the album on their own. It was then released completely randomly and you got to decide what you wanted to pay for the album. It was a weird time period before spotify but after the death of CDs and music stores. In rainbows actual release was revolutionary in itself
You have listened to this album. You would be amazed how the basement session is even better than the album. I Can’t wait to see your reaction of how the play this they are freaking magicians.
The drum roll on videotape isn't a heartbeat rather it signifies a tape jam. I interpret it such as how fragile our lives are and how suddenly they may end any moment. This song definitely grows on you on multiple listens. Also thoroughly enjoying your Radiohead journey so far, love the reactions.
I picture it as a reel to reel video machine, when the tape ends and if you don't stop it the end of the film makes a flapping noise as the reel keeps rotating.
I am so excited to see this one. My brain tells me OK Computer is a masterpiece. My heart says it could never live without In Rainbows. I can never get tired of this album. Wierd Fishes is my favorite. This was their first album away from their record label. When they released it they did it as pay what you want! I'm excited to watch your Moon Shaped Pool review. ❤ edited to add that tadum, tadum on Video Tape was the sound VHS tapes would make if they broke and kept running through the VCR.
with radiohead as my favorite band and in rainbows as my favorite album of all time, im super glad to see you listen to it. it's honestly such a great experience and speaks about love and death in a way that i havent seen in any other medium, truly a timeless album.
ma dude! I've been checking youtube for the last 4 weeks looking for this reaction! I think this album has something unlike any other, because it's both the favorite for many great fans but also the "easiest on the ear" for new listeners. So even with such a wide array techniques, instruments and filters, they built something that's more harmonious than any of their albums. Things just fit together seamlessly. And don't get me wrong, sometimes the rawness of OK Computer or Kid A can hit you harder. But I believe this album to be the bridge of crazy fans and not so crazy fans. Thank you for this reaction tamerail. All the best and merry Christmas
In "Videotape" the narrator recalls his whole life, and watching it as a Videotape. Just wanted to share with my opinion on this beautiful song. Now can't wait to see you reacting to "King of Limbs"! (also In Rainbows has Disk 2 with more nice songs. "Down is new up" is a great example!) Nice reaction keep it up!
Did you notice that the robotic, metronomic style of drumming on this album is heavily influenced by 70s German rock bands like Neu and Can? You can really hear it imho.
YES tamerail ty for sticking with Radiohead all the way to this point! In your From the Basement Patreon vid you mentioned a clip of a robotic, unenthusiastic live performance and I must say that would be highly unusual for them! If you're interested, and given how much you seemed to enjoy early Radiohead I would recommend this 1994 live in Astoria performance in particular: ua-cam.com/video/RjQZd8p-eBM/v-deo.htmlsi=gU8WK_a2DMmcC5IL They have uploaded sooo many other amazing performances on their artist YT page throughout the years as they've evolved, somehow they never cease to bring passion and energy to their live shows. Thank you again for the uploads, looking forward to A Moon Shaped Pool
Is anyone not talking about how legendary Radiohead bridges are, like the one from Paranoid Android, the one from Bodysnatchers, the one on How To Disappear Completely, and more...
Radiohead doesn't usually use pre-recorded stuff in live sessions and if they do they record it live during the song and play it back later in the same song, but backwards (of course).
I actually find kinda funny that you went way crazier for the worst radiohead album (Pablo Honey), instead of going crazy to the best ones like Ok computer, Kid A or In Rainbows. You probably did like em though, except Kid A
I would say the king of limbs is worse. whilst Pablo Honey is by far the most simple, there are far more chances that come along to listen to it than the king of limbs, which to me is like an album to sit through once to check it out and then not put on again
@@pervenchemusic The basement session is fantastic and if you've never heard it you should. It needed more of an organic instruments and less robotic type of sound which they do in the basement and the result in amazing.
Have been enjoying watching you discover this god-tier band, but, especially with this album, you are really killing the vibe when talking during these songs. I do understand it's a reaction channel, but there's gotta be a better way to do it considering this is your first time hearing this masterpiece.
I really want to see you do system of a down. They're a really unique band and I think it would be interesting. Start with self titled or toxicity if you do.
Tou absolutely must watch the From the Basement session -- if not for the channel, for yourself. Easily one of the best live performances I've ever seen (video...wasn't there)

@@tamerail Like 'Loveless' by My Bloody Valentine, I barely consider them individual songs. They all just flow in and out of each other perfectly

after telling me about it for months, here it finally is. ENJOY!
The cheeriest sounding album of their career and every song is fairly much about death/mortality...
Nude, weird fishes, and all I need might be the best 3-song-run in any radiohead album to date.
Exit music, let down and karma police better
@@marquinfssno way
@@marquinfss Karma Police is overrated IMO.
Absolutely one of the best three track runs ever!

YESS IN RAINBOWS FINALLY I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS
u gotta react to the 3 albums by the smile, thom and jonny's new band with drummer tom skinner, really great stuff. :)
Jigsaw is one of my favourite songs, it was my most listened-to on my spotify wrapped with 1985 listens in the last year 😅
you're the proof that non corporate produced entertainment is a thousand times better. Love the humor
One of the greatest Albums of all time, not just for Radiohead but I mean of ALL time bruh
it’s that time
Bro said not to be a grammar nazi in the most german accent ever is so funny my god xD
Now In Rainbows disk II needs to be covered
There's a 2nd disc with some great songs on it. Radiohead has a huge amount of great b-sides, enough to fill at least a few full length albums.
Go Slowly 🎉
In Rainbows Disk 2 is essential listening.
Weird fishes and jigsaw falling into place are their best tracks imo
this intro,,, this man cannot help himself
😓
What a ride what an album what an experience. Nice reaction
listening to this with my mother rn
WE HAVE THE IN RAINBOWS REVIEW YESSSSS!!!!
Laughing out loud while being sad is an experience I didn't know I needed today. Your sense of humor is wild!
I think it's time to get Queens of the Stone Age albums now

Thom is a genius in solo concert. He does all five parts alone, near-perfectly

Yesssss I was waiting for it
Holy F dude I wasn't expecting that fire at the beginning
As great as this album is, the "From the Basement" version is even better. It's probably the best live performance ever recorded.
