Comedy gold and astounding athletic prowess; what's not to like! I didn't realise you only started running in 2020, same as me. You're a veritable speed demon 👍🏻🏃♂️💨
haha aw thanks Mark. Yes it was literally the March 2020 lockdown when we were allowed an hour exercise or whatever it was... a group of friends and I started a virtual running challenge and that was that. I was actually always a bit faster than the other lads which made me realise maybe I was OK at running. I probably have some unfair genetic advantages or something. Nice that you started running similar time! And you're an ultrarunner now! x
Tobacco 😂😂 great video!
very disappointing that. Thank you! x
Good Man Rich. Nice run 💪💪
thank you! x
See Rich Keeble has posted and announce to my wife that he will start too far back. Do the Keeble zig zag weave through traffic adding half a mile to the run, announce he went out too fast but still bring home a PB. Bang on! Great running.
haha well done Paul! Yes, starting too far back is definitely my thing isn't it. Thanks very much! x
Congratulations Rich. Great effort. I also ran and really enjoyed the event. You need to get into the first wave next year. You wasted to much time weaving in and out of slower runners. Also the course was to long by around 300m. So next year sub 70 on the cards. Keep up the good work for us old boys. 👏
aw thanks Paul! I'd love to go sub 70. Yes my watch was about 200m over so I probably added a fair bit from weaving. I did drop back a wave so we could hang out together but maybe next time I'll just go for it! Glad you enjoyed the event too! x
I also attended the great south run on Sunday although I was a lot slower but still enjoyed the day 👍 congrats for your new PB
ah well done Dave! Yeah I enjoyed that very much - thanks for watching! x
I was also at the Great South Run as a Volunteer from Portsmouth College. I was one of the people in Cadet Rig handing out medals at the end. 🙂
Great video. Loved hearing a bit about your running story.
thank you! I'm glad. I always wonder if this stuff is extremely tedious or not x
@@TheRichKeeble not to me because 1) I am interested in people and 2) I am a newish runner so other people's journeys are nice to hear😁
We want the boot. We want the boot. We want the boot…
haha noted! Next time we must revisit...
Toilet seat could have come in handy in those portaloos.
Seems like you’re in a great place at the mo 👍👍👍
thank you! Yes, very happy to be honest. Just need to make sure I don't mess it up. This time(ish) last year I was about to run the sub 20 5K... and then I got cocky and started trying to do faster intervals on some slippery roads and that's when I had some achilles issues. Turns out it was just some inflammation on the bone rather than the tendon, but I ended up taking a month off over xmas and boy was it hard to come back! x
@@TheRichKeeble I got injured over Christmas too. Running stopped. Weight sky rocketed
Enjoyed the Ron Mael vibe from Dale, which complemented your subtly dry comedy style. Great run too, considering you appeared to start too far back given all that weaving. That cost you a little.
haha thank you! Yes I dropped back into Dale's wave so we could hang out but maybe it stopped me going out too fast? I think I made up the time but who knows, maybe I could've gone faster? I just didn't know what I could sustain so I'm delighted at how it turned out anyway! x
Looked like you were having to do a lot of weaving around slower runners so that must have added some time too.
Ah yes well I didn't make a big thing of it in the video but I was supposed to be in the orange wave but I dropped back into Dale's wave so we could hang out together. I did think maybe it stopped me going off too quick actually. Maybe I could've run it quicker but it was a great gauge of current shape nonetheless! x
Enjoyed watching your race footage without the typical annoying generic poppy music heard on so many vlogs. Cheers to the record.
thank you! I did use a bit of music in my early videos (I'd use my own stuff to avoid any copyright issues etc) but now I consciously don't, partly as it seems like it makes my life easier but also I just quite like leaving it "raw" x
