I am reading Spinning Silver right now and am so taken with the images Naomi's writing has been creating in my head. I am blown away by the fact that she is a discovery writer! How does one keep multiple character and subplot arcs straight in their head and manage for them to come together so beautifully?! Regardless I can not wait to read more of her work and go to other fantastically rich lands with her characters
Two of my favorite authors! Uprooted and Spinning Silver are great reads, 10/10 would recommend (and of course the Inheritance Cycle and To Sleep). Loved this!!!
These videos are great! As a writer myself, I can relate so much with what you say and I’m so glad to experience things the same way the major authors do!
My two favorite fantasy authors, worlds colliding! The Temeraire books and the Eragon books are my favorite dragon novels for sure. I feel like Temeraire and Saphira would get along quite well.
I missed in signing up for the virtual author talks at the various book stores when you pre order Naomi Novak new book. So this is so nice to see this conversation
I LOVED Uprooted! And I've finished reading To Sleep. Any chance of a sequel? I'd love to see where Kyra ends up. Do you see her ever being able to pass along Soft Blade to a new host, and return to her family and new friends, aboard the Wallfish? Naomi, I recently re read Dune, with the new forward by Brian Herbert, and he writes about how he wasn't allowed to interrupt his fathers' writing and how the family had to be very quiet and how much he resented that, especially during his teenage years.
Yes same! I finished To sleep yesterday! Did you like the way the book ended ? Did it bother you ?! I absolutely loved it but it hurt to see her leaving forever and ever
@@apersonalive4111 yes, I wanted Kyra to be able to go home and be with her family. I wanted to see her have a relatively normal life, but it seems like she evolved beyond that.
Just read a Deadly Education its sooo good! Absolutely her best work yet

Wait... Dragon-Saga writer meets Dragon-Saga writer??? Why hasn't the world exploded because of such excessive epicness??
I relate to Naomi’s thoughts and non-linear thinking going too quickly for words lol.

Teresa Harris True. It hurt before but I guess you’re right. She did evolve beyond that.
Waiting for your return to alagaesia
