I still think the golden standard of THE ODYSSEY adaptations is the 1997 miniseries with Armand Assante as Odysseus. It too had a great climax when Odysseus and his son fight the suitors.
Frank Grillo and Lou Diamond Phillips AND Werewolves? Sign me up! As for The Return, the fantastical elements are the best part of the story; leaving that out is what gets you things like Troy. Don't be like Troy. Give us batshit Gods messing things up! Thanks for the reviews Brad!
Or Dwayne Johnson Hercules. Why does Hollywood refuse to make Greek mythology movies without all cool gods and monsters? Except Clash of the Titans remake, I guess...
Screambox has been advising werewolves, so I'm assuming adventally it will come to that. I'll wait for that to happen. Honestly, anything with lou diamond Philips is exciting for me.
@@johnoneil9188 ohhh that's an interesting twist I'll def have to check that out, is it for like selfless reasons or is it "of the apocalypse happens our food source will go scarce so let's stop it"
Me and my husband went and saw werewolves yesterday and sadly even though this was it's opening weekend there was only 7 other people in my viewing room besides me and my husband that does not bode well for this movie 😢but I think everyone in my movie room enjoyed it so at least there's that 😃👍
The werewolf effects were cool, but I thought it needed some more blood and gore, gunshot squibs, especially. Also echoing what Brad said about the shots being a little too disorienting and unclear in action scenes. I will add that the actress who played the mom character gave a noteworthy performance, especially when shit starts hitting the fan.
I just watched it a few hours ago. The acting is OK. The cinematography is good. The special effects are pretty good. The premise is cool. As a matter of fact, the first 3-5 minutes makes you think this might be a really cool movie...then it gives you almost all the bad movie tropes and logical consistency of a sharknado movie. It's SOOO STUPID. I love werewolf movies but they made the writers of Morbius look like geniuses in comparison. The only thing that could have actually saved this movie is if they had taken jabs at it and made it a werewolf parody movie. Like a Scary Movie version of a werewolf movie. If it was intentionally poking fun at it's self, complete with 4th wall breaks and everything, that would have at least made it funny. Instead, it's just CRINGE AF. This was the first movie we have seen in a long time that my wife and I nearly walked out on.

That's like shitting in your hand and asking who wants to buy it lmao. Strictly dummies would buy this. No one else.
I was convinced the movie was called Werewolf - The Return and then surprised this was about a second movie.
I was on the same boat until the second review started, considering he said it felt like a sequel to another movie, it just made sense.
Hahahaha yeah me too I googled werewolf the return and nothing then it dawned upon me lol

Brad reviews these two movies together & now I'm going to probably have dreams of Odysseus fighting werewolves with a bow & arrow.
I’d watch that movie

Well, he did fight a cyclops & flesh eating giants during the Odyssey so werewolves would fit in there somewhere.
I can't read the title "Werewolves' without thinking of Young Frankenstein and MSTK. But, if I remember it exists, I' might catch it on streaming.

A werewolf movie i hadn't heard about? One that has some practical effects? Thank you and sold!

Flock Of Seagulls is putting out a new album by the way. :D
Damn Ralph looks good
The werewolves snouts were so long they were like skis!
Werewolves is a video game. It's a haunted house. It's low on characters or story, but high on action.
Damn I always had an idea for a werewolf apocalypse
Shit someone beat me to it 😂
Funny thing is, there is actually a franchise called Werewolf - The Apocalypse
@johnoneil9188 DAMN
Oh well atleast the ideas out there, we need more werewolf apocalypses anyways
@shimshamjunior The thing is, it is about werewolves trying to stop the apocalypse. It is very much about environmental stuff.

@@shimshamjunior The werewolves are pretty much the guardians of nature in that setting. It is literally in their blood to try and preserve the world.
It tries to be a grounded and realistic version of the Odyssey? WTF, then it's just a guy who takes a long time coming home on a boat!
This would be a great double feature with 'Nightbitch'.

Yeah thumbs up to going to a shit movie yay!
I had a ton of fun with Werewolves. It was exactly what I was expecting
So it's a double feature of final acts then.
The Purge: Underworld. 😁
SMASH that like button guys! Adam's worth it!!!
Well put

I went to school with Frank Grillo
Not since Brazilian Star Wars have I seen a film try to kill Brad.
It's annoying that they've never done a accurate Illiad/Odyssey series of films or TV show
Saw it yesterday amd it's awesome.
Somehow the obvious costumed wolf's adds to it
Is there one person on this planet that likes lensflare???
Eh, pass. I'll just watch "Dog Soldiers" again.
Great Movie but I saw werewolves yesterday and it was Pretty Darn Good you might want to check it out if you werewolf movies 👍

Eh, I'll watch "Ginger Snaps" instead.
The return of what?
If you have to ask, you'll never know.
The Mack
You have so little to say about these films you can cover them in 4 minutes 😄
BUT HOW HOT ARE THEY
Truly no one was ready for the furry apocalypse
Build a metal coffin and sleep through the night. Stupid film.
