Next video will be a new challenge series, so stay tuned!!! Also, minor correction: torchwood doesn't add splash in PvZ 2, only PvZ 1. Looking back I may have been too harsh on Tomb Tangler, he's actually a pretty good plant in levels where you can use him. The pulling ability is actually kind of broken as you can see in the gameplay footage.
When you put his Heath seeker at five I laughed for like 20 minutes you put by far the best plant in this game at number five that is criminal man literally kills everything in a wave for 125 sun you need like a whole two rows of poker to do that and that’s like 4000 sun You’re gonna make me shit myself this is too funny
Man all the new plants are so unbalanced and badly animated. My favorite plant is Jack o lantern because of how silly he is but comparing him to these newer ones is just sad
Jack O' Lantern is my favorite plant😁 I miss when he was an interactive Plant. Not to mention his sound effect when you shoveled 1 up, now that sound effect only happens when he's killed.
16:52 also love how someone put primal potato mine on the form despite being a world plant and not a seedium. For fun though he really should do a top 5 best and worst world plants and maybe a mints tier list, would be interesting to hear his opinions on them.
I've never thought of using poop in my arsenal, but this video has changed my mind! Its low suncost of just 25 suns combined with its ability to grow random plants in every single tile is simply too OP for this game
Would make sense, I see it as literal "Fertilizer", double the stats of the plant placed on that tile. What an interesting plant gimmick that would be, like if they brought back coffee bean but wanted it to be useful and not fake difficulty.
I think that Ice shroom is better if we’re talking about both of the plants (the ice shroom and pokara) being max level (mastery 200) since the ice shroom one shots almost everything except for penny’s pursuit and arena.
@@C-oneC-four-wn9thyeah but the problem is that its much more expansive and most people have them at lvl 3-8 so Pokra is overall better But they are equal in strengh from my experience
Yeah I like this list. Major kudos for not giving in to memes and making Scardy Shroom bottom tier like most people wanted. I really hate when people do that. cause yeah Scaredy shroom isn't worth getting now but it would've been fine when the game first came out, and also, coming from the Paper Mario fanbase, there's nothing worse than hearing a bunch of egg heads say "This plant is awful, why? cause you're just supposed to hate it. it's just bad and everyone else hates it." It's like people who genuinely hate Blover because they think it's the most broken plant in the game being the same people who believe that every plant should cost 3x the sun so that casual players can't enjoy it.
I have to agree on Goo Peashooter being a neat sight. Amidst a sea of boring/poorly balanced seedlings plants, it’s my favorite. Cheesing armor is a fantastic niche and very useful, even if it has a subpar plant food, and I admittedly thing it probably should have been on the list at least somewhere, but I’m generally agreeing with what’s on it.
@@MarioMastar blover isnt good in 95% of levels unless you are actively exploiting the physics engine with plants like holly barrier (witch is a seasonal premium so very hard to obtain)
@@eclecticenthusiast2997 I just hate how the pricing is so arbitrary. Pokra is so broken yet only costs 100 seed packs to unlock while goo pea costs 250.
One thing (that to be fair, released this month) that nobody is talking about is the Ice Shroom. At level 1, it can essentially handle anything that gets in contact with. Now, if you level him up to just level 2, you get double the damage and range, as well as a huge boost in HP. As a bonus, you can even boost the damage of other Winter plants if zombies ever come close to it. This thing is at least on par with Pokra.
Scaredy does have a niche in arena thanks to the plant food. It pushes zombies back and rallies up all scaredy shrooms in a 3x3 area, but the kicker is the knockback triggers blover, letting you clear 3 lanes with one plant food. Or the entire board if you use power tiles.
@@theghosttm8245 Blover is usually banned because with it and a level 5 stallia, you could effectively demolish arena. In fact, Pop cap actually hard nerfed it's sedium requirements to level up by increasing it's cost and the coin cost because they were annoyed at people using the Blover + Spring bean combo to wipe out zombies (despite tha requiring plant food) and personally told us that "it was a bug" (but then reinforcement and Stallia still work), and made sure EVERY new plant that knocks zombies in the air are immune to blover. But despite all that it's still a very solid plant. Even without the instant clear, it's just great in general for dealing with aerial zombies, but I'm glad to hear it works with Scaredy shroom's plant food. giving Scaredy shroom a much needed niche.
Just to let you know, Fire Peas don't have Splash Damage in PvZ2 Vanilla, that's just a Thing mods added because has been a thing in PvZ1 and makes sense to restore? Idk
I haven't played pvz2 since like 2019/2020 and have lost my opportunity to get all these plants the easy way. Back then, i would grind like hell and get the best levels of seedium plants on time. I do wanna say one thing about scaredy shroom. The main concept about it is, it is supposed to be a much cheaper peashooter or a long-range puff shroom that helps you out at night levels when sun doesn't fall at pvz1, and it was a fantastic plant that had it's own niche. But in pvz2, even though mushrooms no longer sleep during the day, there is no real point in using the scaredy shroom anymore because sun is never really the problem anymore when you have so many awesome sun producing plants and you can also simply use plant food on them, or use an imitated gold bloom in my case and one sun unit gives 50 sun, in contrast to 25 sun back in pvz which is still the cost of scaredy shroom. So the sun aspect is kinda pointless now esp. since plants can be upgraded to have a fewer sun cost anyway. And also there are an awful lot more zombies that can just speed past your defences or launch zombies like the zcorpion, those flying-in-the-back zombies in wild west etc. and the scaredy shroom will just hide in those instances.
I'd like to add that Pea Vines placing on Torchwoods also deal very good damage (Torchwood is an Appease-Mint plant as well). I guess honorable mentions would be explode-o-nut and shadow pea.
Explod-o-nut definitely deserves an Honerable mention. It's such an interesting plant balance wise. Most people think it's vastly OP but the fact that it can't explode instantly without an inta kill zombie IS a weakness. The number of games I've lost because I placed an explod-o nut and it NEVER expoded. it's just a Wall-nut in that case. Yeah it's still powerful and frankly making it cost 100 sun is fair, but I heavily disagree wtih people who think it's "Stupid op" because they want every plant to do no more damage than a basic pea shooter... (coughmodplayerscough).
Personal placements (from plants used, worst to best. 10 being worst) 10) Seaflora. Only "good" in one world, and that's IF you put it in the front of your lawn 9) Vamporcini. Only thing going for it is it's design when full. 8) Electrici-Tea. Decent "insta" though it needs to be eaten to kill, like Chili Bean 7) Heath Seeker. Hybrid of Homing Thistle's plant food and Grapeshot 6) Tomb Tangler. Cool plant concept, but needs a high level to even be planted on surfboards and backpacks. 5) Imp Pear. Really good plant, not a fan of the fart effect. 4) Torchwood. A Jack-of-all-trades plant. Wall, lane clearing when eaten, perfect for Frostbite Caves, and pea ignition. 3) Scaredy Shroom. OP with Tile Turnip. (I use the strat constantlyin arena, especially with Nightcap) 2) Pea Vine & Gatling Pea. Expensive, but Unstoppable Duo 1) Pokra. Literally OP as is.
I'd argue headbutter lettuce is even better than pokra. It does even more damage, it can attack behind itself, and of course it has the butter. However it can't attack multiple zombies, it has less reach, and it doesn't have the stallia effect. Running both of them though is almost unstoppable since pokra has 1 more tile of reach so it can just be places behind the headbutter
I am just wondering if saying that tomb tangled is better than heath seeker is some sort of typo or something because Beth seeker is leagues over tomb tangler.
I'm a little late but just to add some more details with more context of Penny's Pursuit and Arena as someone who actively plays in these gamemodes: Heath Seeker overall a very solid plant like you described, but has the flaw that if there are zombies that push "objects" onto the lawn, like ice blocks, arcade machines etc, then the darts from Heath Seeker will try to target and break these objects but just fly around the objects, so don't bring it in levels where these exist or else it won't be too effective. Scaredy-Shroom's amazing PF ability makes it very useful in particular for Arena, especially for those with lower level plants. Recent strategies with Scaredy Shroom (mainly in zomboss tournaments where maximizing damage is important) have scored quite high overall compared to other strategies, most notably, Appease-mint based strategies. Imp Pear will instantly kill zombies with its PF effect once it reaches mastery 12. It also instantly kills chickens, weasels, and circus monkeys, which further increases it's utility as a spammable wall plant. MGP + Pea Vine is fine, though for arena, one thing that most players either dont know or dont understand, is that there is a hidden mechanic that we as a community call score decay. To maximize points, you want to kill zombies at a constant rate to maintain and keep the Zombie Difficulty Level high (tougher zombies drop more points), but if you kill zombies too fast and if zombies don't come back onto the lawn quickly enough (aka if you are not killing zombies at a constant rate), the game thinks your plant defense is being OVERRUN by zombies, and drops their level, resulting in less points. It's a litle quirky but it means that we cannot just spam MGP + Pea Vine if we want to get the highest scoring strategy, mainly for us with higher level/mastery plants. (Also, you can use draftodil as a consistent counter against jesters. Stickybomb Rice can work too, but often times you pair it with Imp Pear, since Stickybomb Rice by itself is not consistent at stunning the jesters)
This explains why when I use plants like melonpult or pokra or even fume shrooms I end up with more points than people who use a deck full of bomb plants despite the fact that they tend to have a lead at the beginning of the round.
I heard that ice shroom is a rediculously good plant. Also about heath seeker. It's comparable to homing thistle plant food that is essentially half the price
My top 5 best seedium 1) Headbutter Lettuce & Pokra These plant deal very high DPS even at lvl 1. Headbutter lettuce has the highest DPS in the game while Pokra having the fastest attack combinedd with high damage also, plus the 'stalling' and 'stunning' gimmick those plant have make it the most effective plants 2) Nightcap Nightcap is what if invincibility was translated into a plant, her attack is powerful and fast like Pokra, and at the same time poison zombies while go into stealth mode. I mean, How OP can it be? 3) Imp pear Every plant is OP upon boosted, if this was used with First Strike boost, he's OP, but regularly he's just like chilli bean, yeah but again, his ability see no difference. Even gargantuars. 4) Turkey pult It's like Cauliflower of Hypnoshroom, she's the most effective zomboids summoner, other than Zoybean pod. Speed summoning rates, and the turkey dmg is also good. 5) Shadowpea By himself, he's weak, but when powered, he's radically OP, just like if Pokra was a piercer. And it can swallow normal zombies too
Hocus circus is pretty good against fast paced zombies like sandstorms, break dancers, all stars and newspapers, just don't use her alone as an attacking plant, she's a pretty great stalling plant and combos very well with melee plants. And WHY is scaredy shroom one of the best???
Seeing someone on UA-cam bring up Zackscott just makes me smile. I've been watching him for a over a decade now. Love his videos especially PvZ and Dark Moon videos. Also, Very good list :D
I feel like electric tea is underrated Like i use it in arena and when it gets eaten it clears a 5×2 area Idk people just don't understand the main purpose of him Like why would you use him as a melee plant use him as an insta kill and don't plant food him.
Such a shame when Popcap buffed Tomb Tangler they could've just make him plantable on more grid items or normal tiles but no they just buffed almost everything except his main weakness. He is kinda decent now with buffs but as you said Boingsetta completely outclasses him.
I love the idea of Tomb Tangler, turning graves against the zombies, but Pop cap seems to have forgotten every world gimmick is specific to the world and occasional pinata party. Most stages don't have graves at all and never will, just as only one stage has water. If graves could appear in ANY world at any time, that alone would heavily buff Tomb tangler. At the moment Grave buster has the niche of being able to clear those high HP graves that appear in Arena mode and Penny's Pursuit so you can place more useful plants for free, but it's too weak to want to keep it in lieu of another plant in those modes.
I was genuinely baffled by how surprisingly good Heathseeker was. I saw the description and didn't think much, but then one day decided to watch an ad to give it a whirl, and I wound up basically only needing it to beat the level. Its cheap, recharges fast, and its damage is SUPERB. Its a great counter to zombies like Octo and Wizard since it can kill the octopi and the wizards really easily from anywhere in an instant. Definitely a top notch instant.
In defense of sea flora , the devs will add a new mechanic which was found in the games code called puddles , this update will also have the raincoat zombie and if im not mistaken , guard shroom as well , so we will be able to unlock sea flora's true potential in levels that normally dont have water.
While I agree with most picks, I do want to bring attention to a few plants: Sea Flora is my personal worst plant, she attacks way too slow and is way too expensive for what she does, not to mention how niche water is even with the upcoming puddle mechanic. Scaredy Shroom is overhated. Yes he is not that great, but his cheap price and insane Plant Food ability, especially if combined with Tile Turnip, makes him a decent budget strategy. Still not the best, but it's something. Especially when you've got the likes of Bzz Button and Bun Chi struggling to justify their existence. Mega Gatling Pea, as much as I love him, is a tad overrated, since you could just run Threepeater anyway and it's a decent alternative. I suggest Rhubarbarian since he instantly kills most zombies in his lane for 100 sun. I also found it weird you included Torchwood, since as far as I know, he is given to players after their 7th day of playing PvZ2, and this list is meant to be a guide as to which plants to get. I would place Gum Nut here, since its mechanic is really strong, easily making it the best wall plant.
Yeah, even in the vanilla game before the Arena and Penny's Pursuit I find it hard to justify using Sea Flora. Big wave beach has the water level kind of shift wildly during a game, wtih the water table set, but the water comes from the zombie side, so you're putting a slow attacking plant near the front of the lawn. Sure Cactus wasn't out when Big wave beach was first introduced WAY back when. but...Laser bean was and it costs less than sea flora and does way more, Heck they cost the same if you include lillypads. and I think Fume shrooms were available too. Sadly Rotobega, the absolute BEST plant for BWB wasn't out yet as Frostbite caves was the next level and even then Rotobega was the second wave of plant, but still. you had better options even then than Sea Flora. I'll give plants that are underwhelming the benefit of the doubt if they may have had a niche in early days like Electricity (which FEELS like an early PvZ2 plant), but the worst ones are even bad by THAT era's standards, when a basic pea shooter or wall nut out classes it. The plants you literally start the game with (and by now are FORCED to upgrade XD)
Also for Scaredy-Shroom PF with Tile Turnip. All you'd need is 2 Turnips to get a whole field firing (make 3 rows and columns of Scaredy, put the Tile Turnips in the 2 spots in the direct middle of the two halves of the grid), and watch the firing squad roll
@@astralguardian5930 I'd say another strong point of scaredy shroom is it belongs to the ailmint family and compliments the short range nature of fume shrooms and puff shrooms if you want to build around using ailmint. While goo pea can cover the long range role it's more expensive and therefore might not be suitable for levels with limited sun production/use.
When the mega gatling pea first came out I was super excited (as someone who played much more pvz1 than 2 at the time) and grinding the 1000 trophies for max rewards, then got pea vine and torchwood and appeasement mixed in and thought "damn this is a really good combo! I wonder if anyone else has thought of this...." then as I finally started watching pvz2 videos I found out I had accidentally found the (debatabley) single most broken combo in the game
Yeah, It's weird to see so much hate on scaredy shroom even though 3 rows of him and 2 power tiles will completely wipe the board ( minus excavators and jesters).
13:26 pea vine doesn't boost pea plant It boosts all planta in the game Just try using it with bloomerang and you'll see a brown orb just like the green one. Fun fact: if you plant a level max pea vine on a level max gargantuar the pea vine will kill him in 2 hits.
15:04 I can actually really agree with this because I regret buying this plant in the first place WHATEVER YOU DO IF SHE IS PLANT OF THE WEEK DO NOT BUY HER SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! I only bought her since I thought she'd be op as hell like all the other Halloween plants but no! Tomb tangler and vamporcini were major letdowns!
Heath seeker is actually really good against high health but low density zombie hoards, since the projectiles pierce less zombies but do heavy damage. At level 1 I’m pretty sure it can kill like 2 gargs by itself, since 1 garg is definitely no problem
Scardey shroom is actually a one of the best (top 5) strats for defeating Zomboss in arena and penny's Pursuit. I have gotten scores in the 40M+ with scaredy shroom. And it can shred 3 pepper zomboss.
Head butter lettuce and pokra are very similar, in the fact that they have high dps (head butter has the highest in the game at 200 dps) have equal range (head butter hits backwards but has one less forward range) and can deal with gargs very well, as you only need one head butter at level one to kill a garg. Plus, they cost the same, have similar plant foods in the fact they they don’t do much damage but stall a bunch of targets, and are both insanely overpowered in all three game modes.
@@nas1373 one is not better than the other, they serve different purposes, obviously pokra will be better for groups, while at the same time, obviously head butter will be better for gargs.
Electritea is amazing in reflourished and I have wiped out most of adventure using it but I agree its basic attack is abysmal. But it’s a quick recharge Insta, that wipes out hordes of basics and cones. In regular PvZ I can see where it sucks though.
I was just casually playing Plants vs Zombies 2, trying to recover my lost progress because the game stopped working. Even before I got Spikeweed, I got so many Torchwood seeds I ended up unlocking it. I also remember back when I played PvZ 2 for the first time, Torchwood was a Premium plant.
I would argue olive pit deserves an honorable mention because it behaves as a chomper with 3 uses that cannot be damaged by most zombies. I almost always place mine before an infini-nut for amazing results
Honestly, if Ice-Shroom at level 1 attacked two tiles instead of one, it would be just as good as Pokra, since it slows, or maybe better because it can ALSO buff ice plants around it.
There are 2 different scenarios I will consider: {1- Normal level plants} 1) Headbutter Lettuce & Pokra No surprise here, just the "infinityly kills a buch of actually everything" plants. 2) Ice shroom This plant is actually insane, deals insane damage, has a okay range, has an insane stun effect, pretty much everything needed to be OP 3) Imp pear Not that much to say about this, it shines even on low level because of the life ignoring factor and the relativily low coldown, killing everything on 2 hits. 4) heatseeker/tele-potatomine Probably the 2 greatest insta after pear, one does really high damage and easily breaks most obstacles in the field, other just get's the Thyme Warp concept and get it like 20 times better. 5) Pea vine and Mega Gatling Pea Same reasons on the video, insane combo, only downside is the really high cost. {2- Max level plants} 1) Headbutter Lettuce I have to put this plant here alone for 3 main reasons: 1º: it's DPS is just... not normal, it deals absolute insane damage, being the highest DPS in the entire game. 2º: His butter mechanic is just to OP to any zombie to actually handle, when you consider max level and mastery, it completaly breaks the whole game, 5 of this plant just PERMANENTLY stun every single zombie that dares showing up on your screen, basically killing everything with all the time of the world (Not that it needs it) 3º: It get's as cheap as a peashooter, this by itself says enough. 2) Imp Pear The way this plant gets almost exponentially better as it levels up is crazy, featuing one of the lowest coldowns in the entire game, and also instantly killing the majority of the game enemies, this plant pairing with power lily and Tile turnip makes the strongest combo in the game by far. 3) Pokra It wouldn't fall that much, it's just that it doesn't benefit as much as the 1º and 2º from levelups, I mean it's pokra with more damage and lower recharge, but one cool thing is that it's price drastically lowers, and just like headbutter it become 100 sun. 4) Ice Shroom Same Situation as pokra, also get's greatly cheaper, get's hella stronger, and it's damage boost increases, it's a shame that it's family doesn't have a solid dps to really benefit from this buff (I know ice pea is good, but there plenty better option to the DPS role). 5) heatseeker/tele-potatomine Gotta respect the instants man, solid, cheap, insane recharge speed, all a good plant needs. On the worst plants otherwise, I personally wouldn't make any changes on the things stipulated in the video, solid opinions that aplly for both of the situations analized on this comment.
Unironically, Tomb Tangler > Scaredy shroom. For the simple fact that it may be niche but it does its job. Scaredy on the other hand, not so much. the knockback or scaredy shroom is also at the cost of plant food with that you could've just either plant food a seed packet (primal potato mine) or plant food a plant on the lawn (primal potato mine). Electrici-tea has a better plant food than scaredy. And once eaten it can chain to other zombies. This basically an alternative to explode-o-nut for when people don't have that or it's getting buffed itself via modifiers. It's a sun sink. Just because Electrici-tea kills zombies ide put another plant in here, Bzzz button. That should be on it's place because it's a plant that needs to be eaten to stall, when there's another 150 sun cost plant that does that better also stays on the board or a 0 cost plant and both don't need to get eaten. Or when it's direct competitor thyme warp is also there for a full board reset. And the inherit downside of stall, killing is simply better. and speaking of stall, draftodil stunlock and removal of every imp, critter, flying zombie and slows them. A 1 use 50 sun plant that slows enemies compared to a 125 suncost plant that has a potential to clear 3 lanes or more. And still scaredy shroom is worse than everything i mentioned. 25 for 20 damage and it disabled itself, on top of getting it AFTER dark ages and the entire campaign. If it was in ancient eqypt i can see why it's used but when Shine vine, Sun Shroom, Primal Sunflower, Solar Sage and Gold Bloom are strangling each other on which can reach the 10k sun count the fastest. the cost is irrelevant also lightning reed replaced it ages ago for it's niche.
There's also so many things that attack the backrow. where you would want Scaredy to be since there's so many new threats to the front row. but both the back and front rows are sieged by so many zombies.
overall a great list but one plant that I think is just as powerful as Pokra is Headbutter Lettuce. Headbutter Lettuce stalls almost any zombie with butter and can solo a gargantuar just by stalling it and dose a huge amount of damage quickly
I 100% think teleportato mine deserves to be in number 2 and instead of tourchwood which has no splash damage. IT IS LETTERALLY A STONGER PRIMAL POTATO MINE although I always rank plants based on adventure mode or you just forgot about it!
Ik levels aren’t mentioned usually, but Pokra’s plant food gets one more projectile with every level on top of the other stupid bonuses it gets. Since plants are invincible with using plant food, it ends up lasting so long that Pokra with plant food can just act as an invincible wall for a short bit while stalling and damaging the whole lane.
As someone who uses Gatling + Pea Vine + Torchwood a lot, I can say that to counter how expensive it is (400 + 125 + 175 = 600 for 3 plants) I use sun shroom + enlightenmint to get a lot of sun quickly. Also, to counter Excavators & Jesters, I would use plants that deal enough damage to kill them both while at the same time, have at least enough health to survive.
I like that price. Reminds me of what it costs to originally get Gattling Pea + Torch wood, or like Cob cannon if it was in the game. I think if a plant or combination costs over 500 sun (Winter melon baseline) it should deserve to be a top of the line. Though yeah....farming Sun is so much easier with plants like Gold bloom, the buffed Sun shroom and Moonflower which often gets slept on in these videos.
I can see use of tomb tangler, first it'll pair well with catapult plants, and slow plants. Personally I like Kernel-Pult and Dazey chain combo so I'll probably be down to add the tangled tomb plant on those stall teams.
It is a shame to see people rate Scardey Shroom so badly, it costs as a Potato mine so for early stall strategies it is good but it is also good for having a back line as you build up stronger plants. Yes it isn't strong... but that isn't the point. It is cheap and effective for early game, its damage will aid any other build, it just works. Its cower lets it be used for a 25 Sun emergency defense as well. Yes it isn't amazing, but it helps you get to everything else amazing. And with Tile Turnip... your plant food covers the entire map or it can be further combined with something like Infi-Nut for an unbreakable wall and pushing everything back and dealing damage. Having this as an emergency plant food button is pretty game changing.
You know what'd be interesting? If you went back and tried to beat some of the impossible levels on your peashooter only challenge by leveling up your plants, just as a sort of experiment to see the difference levels make.
I just feel like electrici-tea needs a few buffs before it becomes useful (I actually use it) 1. Buff the small zaps. They deal ONE DIGIT damage, so I would ask to buff it to around 20-50. 2. Make it activate upon DESTRUCTION, not being eaten. This is to put it on a better level with explode-o-nut. 3. Increase the range and chaining of the ability. This should make it a more "Pick off high damage enemies" plant rather than a worse explode-o-nut.
@@koalapvz Fun fact: ElectriciTea does cost 50 Sun in AltVerz making it a really good alternative (no pun intended) to other sacrificial plants. It's really great against tanky enemies that eat since it will one-shot them regardless of their health. That includes the robots in Far Future. It's still an underwhelming plant, but I was able to find some uses for it because of how AltVerz designed their levels.
very small correction: (unless this was changed recently, past my knowledge) torchwood doesnt grant splash to peas that go through it anymore, its just increased damage
in my opinion, torchwood shouldn't be on here (i like lobbing plants more and don't really know how to use it effectivly) and give 4th to heath seeker, then give 5 to teleportato mine (ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS LEVELED UP)
The Pea synergy with torchwood isn’t even important anymore because of how fast it cool down is and all of his other attributes. He is busted just by himself. I bet you could beat most adventure levels just with him as an offensive and defensive plant
ngl electrici-tea is really underrated. I feel like it should be used like the buzz button, feeding it to zombies for a really strong chain attack rather than its puny little zap. It's not a bad insta if you look at it from that standpoint. I disagree with tomb tangler as well, but you addressed that. I feel like solar sage should've made it to the top list, but i'm not sure where it'd be put.
Electricitea is an unfortunate case of "Would've been fantastic if it released when Wild West first existed, but now is far too weak compared to other options." It has it's niche with the electricty shocking multiple zombies for good baited crowd control, but it's attack can't even beat chicken zombies, the whole point of having a weak AoE attack so it doesn't get eaten. It has a lot of potential, but as is.... it doesn't really do it's own job right as a delayed Cherry bomb that needs to be eaten effectively. but it's effectiveness is about that of chili bean and Boosted Hypno shroom with large crowds.
Not really correct but technically it is, since each individual pea is separate, each pea deals 12x damage but since there is five then it technically 60x
It’s funny how I don’t play penny’s pursuit often, but when Pokra was plant of the week, and I only needed about 90 more seed packets, I bothered doing it… And I didn’t realize how good Pokra was for months until finally, I witnessed gargantuar massacre.
I think the main problem is that the strongest Zombies as well as strongest Plants can oneshot or have masdive AoE now, so any other plant which doesn't feels utterly underpower.
Sundew Tangler is the worst plant period, because its the only plant that will consistently grief you. If you try to use it the amount of times it will accsidently save zombies from your insta kills/plant food effects/ anything you throw on your screen is honestly stunning. That plant is actually so grief that it's to the point i would consider it the only plant thats a negative to have on your board. If plants where rated with a score Sundew Tangler would be in the negatives! Not to mention its exceptionally bad in Arena.
i remember when i lost my account that had pokra i seriously started renting plants untill i found it to win a level with it just to buy seed packets over and over again that took hours but i got it back after hours of renting plants and watching ads
I haven't played pvz2 since 2022, but i think headbutter lettuce is a really strong plant, it does a lot of damage and can stun zombies with butter, and the most important thing.... That design is just sick
i think stickybomb rice is pretty good, great opening plant scince it can cover 3 lanes, it does area damage, and the plant food ability can absolutely wipe the map clean. only downside is that its kinda expensive
My three favourite plants in the entire game are shadow pea because he looks cool, ice snapdragon because he’s… *cool* and sapling because he’s adorable and just a lil guy
I got Mega Gatling Pea SO EASILY!!!! It’s now patched but all you had to do was do one of those event things, claim the piñata or whatever and quit the game. You still got the seed packets but you could open it over and over and over and over again! It also worked with the gem rewards from it so I got EVERY gemium plant!!!!!
I will say, this might be a hot take but I think Scaredy Shroom actually is pretty underrated for Arena and even some Penny Pursuit levels. He is actually very good with levels against Zomboss. As similar to Mega Gatling pea. His plant food can Melt his health bars. Making him a pretty nice sub for Gatling. Sometimes better even with his cheap cost. Tho unlike Gatling he is very Plant food hungry, so if the levels don't give much plant food then he's not good there. Overall, is Scaredy shroom a good plant?.. no not really. But, he is far from the worst plants in the game. Very least he'll probably be better off than Sea Shroom whenever he eventually comes to 2.
i think explode o vine is the best plant because for 50 sun less, you get a spammable cherry bomb that can be placed on top of other plants and even if it doesnt kill, you can use use blover as it knocks back zombies when you place it or when it gets destroyed
Forgot to mention that Pokara attack speed increases as long as it continues to attack that's why it's so strong top of everything else and tomb tanglers stall actually stacks on other types of slow effects dosent make it any better but it gives it that niche
in frostbite caves day 28 just plant a row of 3peaters in the back and then torchwoods in front of them, give the torchwoods plants food and watch them even shred the gargantuars
The worst part of seedium plants is that most aren't good, interesting, or actually new, usually just being an element combined with an old plant's mechanics and they don't get given larger damage stats because they expect you to level the plant to get those, and that's yet more arena and penny's pursuit mechanics
I'm surprised Olive Pit wasn't mentioned as one of the best. It's pretty much a chomper that can eat 3 zombies before needing to rest, but without the vulnerability. That as well as slowing down things around it for just 25 sun more than a chomper is insane to me
Next video will be a new challenge series, so stay tuned!!!
Also, minor correction: torchwood doesn't add splash in PvZ 2, only PvZ 1.
Looking back I may have been too harsh on Tomb Tangler, he's actually a pretty good plant in levels where you can use him. The pulling ability is actually kind of broken as you can see in the gameplay footage.
torchwood only adds splash in PvZ1
When you put his Heath seeker at five I laughed for like 20 minutes you put by far the best plant in this game at number five that is criminal man literally kills everything in a wave for 125 sun you need like a whole two rows of poker to do that and that’s like 4000 sun You’re gonna make me shit myself this is too funny

17:06 Goo peashooter was shown!!! I’m so glad one of my favorite plants appeared. Even if it was unintentional

I wondered why Blover wasn’t allowed in Arena.
True I use scaredy shroom in placement of gatling pea when its nerfed its good on arena and penny pursuits

Idk
I think the reason why is because they had splash back in PvZ1, and other fire based plants in PvZ2 Vanilla have splash, like Pepper-pult
it had splash in pvz1, probably mixed memory from that more than anything
Doesn't Snow Pea now have splash damage? It can hit more then 1 zombie at a time
@@deathpie24 no, snow pea now have SPLASH frost effect, the frost effect spread for nearby zombies when shot
@samloredescarregado1755 slow effect but no damage, still better than one target being affected
He mentioned that though
Personal placements (from plants used, worst to best. 10 being worst)
10) Seaflora. Only "good" in one world, and that's IF you put it in the front of your lawn
9) Vamporcini. Only thing going for it is it's design when full.
8) Electrici-Tea. Decent "insta" though it needs to be eaten to kill, like Chili Bean
7) Heath Seeker. Hybrid of Homing Thistle's plant food and Grapeshot
6) Tomb Tangler.
(I use the strat constantlyin arena, especially with Nightcap)
2) Pea Vine & Gatling Pea. Expensive, but Unstoppable Duo
1) Pokra. Literally OP as is.
Boosted Imp-Pair + Shrinking violet = Chef's kiss. That is a genuinely fun combo.
@@lordmarshmal_0643 bro, how can you mistake roblox for minecraft?
I'd argue headbutter lettuce is even better than pokra. It does even more damage, it can attack behind itself, and of course it has the butter. However it can't attack multiple zombies, it has less reach, and it doesn't have the stallia effect. Running both of them though is almost unstoppable since pokra has 1 more tile of reach so it can just be places behind the headbutter
@@Valley66 in my defense, only used plants from the video
I am just wondering if saying that tomb tangled is better than heath seeker is some sort of typo or something because Beth seeker is leagues over tomb tangler.
I'm a little late but just to add some more details with more context of Penny's Pursuit and Arena as someone who actively plays in these gamemodes:
Heath Seeker overall a very solid plant like you described, but has the flaw that if there are zombies that push "objects" onto the lawn, like ice blocks, arcade machines etc, then the darts from Heath Seeker will try to target and break these objects but just fly around the objects, so don't bring it in levels where these exist or else it won't be too effective.

1) Headbutter Lettuce & Pokra
These plant deal very high DPS even at lvl 1. Headbutter lettuce has the highest DPS in the game while Pokra having the fastest attack combinedd with high damage also, plus the 'stalling' and 'stunning' gimmick those plant have make it the most effective plants

Nightcap is what if invincibility was translated into a plant, her attack is powerful and fast like Pokra, and at the same time poison zombies while go into stealth mode. I mean, How OP can it be?
3) Imp pear
Every plant is OP upon boosted, if this was used with First Strike boost, he's OP, but regularly he's just like chilli bean, yeah but again, his ability see no difference. Even gargantuars.
4) Turkey pult
It's like Cauliflower of Hypnoshroom, she's the most effective zomboids summoner, other than Zoybean pod. Speed summoning rates, and the turkey dmg is also good.
5) Shadowpea
By himself, he's weak, but when powered, he's radically OP, just like if Pokra was a piercer. And it can swallow normal zombies too
Shadow pea might be as good as pokra tbh,he can 1 shot most kind of buff zombies with his drag
Not to mention, the Turkeypult can make the Gargantuars busy. Put her together with Draftodil, and it gets better
Turkey pult its kinda bad and so overrated same as Electric pea both of them are overated just because the design of them its cool

I feel like electric tea is underrated
Like i use it in arena and when it gets eaten it clears a 5×2 area
Idk people just don't understand the main purpose of him
Like why would you use him as a melee plant use him as an insta kill and don't plant food him.
Such a shame when Popcap buffed Tomb Tangler they could've just make him plantable on more grid items or normal tiles but no they just buffed almost everything except his main weakness.
He is kinda decent now with buffs but as you said Boingsetta completely outclasses him.
True. They could've just buffed his sun cost and make him plantable on more grid items and call it a day.
12:13 POOPCRAP IS CRAZY 😭😭😭
So thats why every time i used that thing there was a puddle when it died
While I agree with most picks, I do want to bring attention to a few plants:
Sea Flora is my personal worst plant, she attacks way too slow and is way too expensive for what she does, not to mention how niche water is even with the upcoming puddle mechanic.

I saw scaredy shroom, primal potato mines, and imp pears get like 3 million in arena (lots of plant food and they used power radish)
If you pair Scaredy-Shroom with Tile Turnip, it can always clear an entire board (If not, the zombies are pushed back!)
Yeah, It's weird to see so much hate on scaredy shroom even though 3 rows of him and 2 power tiles will completely wipe the board ( minus excavators and jesters).
13:26 pea vine doesn't boost pea plant

Heath seeker is actually really good against high health but low density zombie hoards, since the projectiles pierce less zombies but do heavy damage. At level 1 I’m pretty sure it can kill like 2 gargs by itself, since 1 garg is definitely no problem
Yeah health seeker is so underrated
Scardey shroom is actually a one of the best (top 5) strats for defeating Zomboss in arena and penny's Pursuit. I have gotten scores in the 40M+ with scaredy shroom. And it can shred 3 pepper zomboss.
Seriously, Scaredy Shroom plant food is extremely broken because of the chain reaction
This on PP will make Zomboss cry in knees

Scardy shroom would be good if when he hid he could not be damaged and was unlocked in dark ages
There are 2 different scenarios I will consider:
{1- Normal level plants}
1) Headbutter Lettuce & Pokra
No surprise here, just the "infinityly kills a buch of actually everything" plants.
2) Ice shroom
This plant is actually insane, deals insane damage, has a okay range, has an insane stun effect, pretty much everything needed to be OP
3) Imp pear
Not that much to say about this, it shines even on low level because of the life ignoring factor and the relativily low coldown, killing everything on 2 hits.
4) heatseeker/tele-potatomine
Probably the 2 greatest insta after pear, one does really high damage and easily breaks most obstacles in the field, other just get's the Thyme Warp concept and get it like 20 times better.
5) Pea vine and Mega Gatling Pea
Same reasons on the video, insane combo, only downside is the really high cost.
{2- Max level plants}
1) Headbutter Lettuce
I have to put this plant here alone for 3 main reasons: 1º: it's DPS is just... not normal, it deals absolute insane damage, being the highest DPS in the entire game.
2) Imp Pear
The way this plant gets almost exponentially better as it levels up is crazy, featuing one of the lowest coldowns in the entire game, and also instantly killing the majority of the game enemies, this plant pairing with power lily and Tile turnip makes the strongest combo in the game by far.
3) Pokra
It wouldn't fall that much, it's just that it doesn't benefit as much as the 1º and 2º from levelups, I mean it's pokra with more damage and lower recharge, but one cool thing is that it's price drastically lowers, and just like headbutter it become 100 sun.
4) Ice Shroom
Same Situation as pokra, also get's greatly cheaper, get's hella stronger, and it's damage boost increases, it's a shame that it's family doesn't have a solid dps to really benefit from this buff (I know ice pea is good, but there plenty better option to the DPS role).
5) heatseeker/tele-potatomine
Gotta respect the instants man, solid, cheap, insane recharge speed, all a good plant needs.
On the worst plants otherwise, I personally wouldn't make any changes on the things stipulated in the video, solid opinions that aplly for both of the situations analized on this comment.
Shadow pea
i recently unlocked pokra after grinding the rent a plant. (if you enter the almanac or garden. the rent-a-plant resets giving you new options)
But it doesn’t have infinite pierce
Yeah its usefull agsinst zomboss , to prevent him from destroying my entire army
Learned more from this video than I did in all my college years
Not sure if anyone has mentioned yet, but another point for Imp Pear is that despite being free it can be picked and used in all last stand levels
Context for Electricitea: A pea does 20 damage. A kernel does 10. This thing does a QUARTER of the damage of a plant that's already lacking in it.
It’s not supposed to be used like phat beet or gloom shroom, it’s a chili bean with aoe but no stun.
Nobody cares about how much damage it does. It’s supposed to be consumed.
my top 5 best (more correct) : 5:health seaker 4:imp pear 3:exploding rice 2:peavine 1:solar sage
13:34 You can also plant pea vine in torchwood and it will multiply the fire peas damage it creates on top of everything else, completely broken
You know what'd be interesting? If you went back and tried to beat some of the impossible levels on your peashooter only challenge by leveling up your plants, just as a sort of experiment to see the difference levels make.
you have stuff like mega Gatling pea then you have sleep deprived scaredy shroom for the same price…
Good thing pokra was the first seedium i unlocked🙏
I just feel like electrici-tea needs a few buffs before it becomes useful (I actually use it)
Yes, so many plants destroy it without eating it and it ends up being a waste of sun. If it activated upon destruction it would be better immediately.
It's still an underwhelming plant, but I was able to find some uses for it because of how AltVerz designed their levels.
very small correction: (unless this was changed recently, past my knowledge) torchwood doesnt grant splash to peas that go through it anymore, its just increased damage
in my opinion, torchwood shouldn't be on here (i like lobbing plants more and don't really know how to use it effectivly) and give 4th to heath seeker, then give 5 to teleportato mine (ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS LEVELED UP)
I've used Scaredy-Shroom to dog on penny's pursuit and arena ever since it came out. With either tile turnip or ail-mint, it becomes a MONSTER...
I feel like solar sage should've made it to the top list, but i'm not sure where it'd be put.
electricitea and especially noctarine are ok plants that get murdered by the overpowered instas already in place (not even seediums)
Guys scaredy shroom is op its plant food is op i use it in arena
5 * 1.5 * 2 * 4 = 60
Extra pea per shot up to 4 times, pea vine multiplier, torchwood, and appeasement
60 times the damage of a normal pea.
I think the main problem is that the strongest Zombies as well as strongest Plants can oneshot or have masdive AoE now, so any other plant which doesn't feels utterly underpower.
my top 5:
1. nightcap
2. puffball
3. boom balloon flower
4. cran jelly
5. sticky rice bomb
honorable mention: ice-shroom, imp pear, turkey-pult, pokra, headbutter lettuce
my worst 5:
1. vamporcini
2. hocus crocus
3. boingsetta
4. buttercup
5. aloe
‘honorable’ mention: tiger grass, dandelion, blooming heart, tumbleweed, inferno
The only Pokra downside is that jesters can deflect its projectiles. But yeah, Pokra is too busted lol
Not to mention its exceptionally bad in Arena.
i remember when i lost my account that had pokra
i seriously started renting plants untill i found it to win a level with it just to buy seed packets over and over again
that took hours but i got it back after hours of renting plants and watching ads
spring bean beats them all easy
Bro spring bean is trash💀
Yea its not at top only bc its not a seeduim
@@Friendlyplushyadventuresbro missed the joke
@@Friendlyplushyadventures r/woooosh
spring bean isn’t a seedium plant
Heath seeker is my favourite plant. It carried me through neon mixtape tour and so on.
Oh boy you haven't seen iceshroom yet..
Pokra is like the Metal Blades from Mega Man 2 to be honest. Great video 👍
Love your videos man❤️
i think explode o vine is the best plant because for 50 sun less, you get a spammable cherry bomb that can be placed on top of other plants and even if it doesnt kill, you can use use blover as it knocks back zombies when you place it or when it gets destroyed
This guy is underrated assuming he literally beat over half of PvZ 2 with ONLY peashooters
Scardey shroom's abillity is op in arena due to you always getting plant food when you use it once, it is especially op in arena bosses
Forgot to mention that Pokara attack speed increases as long as it continues to attack that's why it's so strong top of everything else and tomb tanglers stall actually stacks on other types of slow effects dosent make it any better but it gives it that niche
popcap after being called poopcrap:🪦
in frostbite caves day 28 just plant a row of 3peaters in the back and then torchwoods in front of them, give the torchwoods plants food and watch them even shred the gargantuars
I only have 1 problem with pokra:her scoliosis typa posture 💀💀💀
Hey Koala what do you use to edit your videos
Adobe Premiere Pro 👍
The worst part of seedium plants is that most aren't good, interesting, or actually new, usually just being an element combined with an old plant's mechanics and they don't get given larger damage stats because they expect you to level the plant to get those, and that's yet more arena and penny's pursuit mechanics
I'm surprised Olive Pit wasn't mentioned as one of the best. It's pretty much a chomper that can eat 3 zombies before needing to rest, but without the vulnerability. That as well as slowing down things around it for just 25 sun more than a chomper is insane to me
The fact that imp pear and goo peashooter are the best to deal with strong zombies ex: fossil heads and knights
