Unfortunately devs decided to completely remove Refund Skill Points (Respec) option which is unbelievably bad decision. It needed changing but not removing. Only way to build character as you would want it is to hire new adventurers with tokens.
Xbox player here in 2020 and I can say that YES you CAN REFUND SKILL POINTS with a MERCENARY TOKEN. Go to the Adventures guild and talk to the "hoods" who let you advance to the next skill set.
Good intro video, but I do have one minor thing to mention: You refer to the combat as Hex based and talk about hexes. Those aren't hexes, with "hex" being a shortened form of "hexagonal". While many tactics/strategy games do use hexagonal fields, this game clearly does not...
I think what he means by "hex-based" is that it is loosely based off a hex system, differentiating itself with squares(or rectangles) limiting attack angles to a certain degree.
Good video I am wondering are you going to continue your divinity original sin 2 definitive edition builds I am really interested in your updated builds
I've got mercenary tokens, but can't figure out how to hire/add a new person to the group and have 1 slot left, is it anything like Diablo 2 where you just go to to an NPC and hire a mercenary for example? Edit: Nevermind, as soon as I finished this comment I found a mercenary captain in the first tavern.
allow me another question, I found a elven weapon but I need bluebell seeds for it. The two merchants stand besides each other in skara brae are out of stock. Any tipp where you can buy blue bell seeds in the game?
At the moment the game poorly optimized and not that fun to play. Not much freedom, meaning pretty much one path to follow. If you are thinking this follows the original Bards Tale gameplay then you better think again because its all different. I don't care myself, but alot of backers were told otherwise.
@Fextralife, How do you refund your skill points? I know you could do it during beta but I think they removed that feature, there is no skill refund button in the skill tree, I've check each time I gain points, after I save, after I visit the review board, it looks like it was removed. If I'm missing something please let me know.
It is supposed to be done by visiting review board. I wrote this guide while playing beta and so far did not see that option at all but it should be made available at the review board. Think it might be connected to Story Progression.
Hopefully, I already made it to the second tier skills by going through the review board but never saw any dialogue options or anything else that made it possible. Maybe after a certain quest is complete.
No way to refund. Devs confirmed that they removed that option completely which I dont understand at all. I agree that having refund available all the time with no cost is not the way to go but no refund at all is just stupid. Only way to get build you want is to hire mercenaries with tokens and hope that you dont make a mistake.
This game had SO much potential, graphically stunning - well developed RPG elements, etc. Only massive drawback is the combat/movement in this weird fps/3rd person "hex". Lost my attention. Devs should have gone with a more traditional take.
This is based on the beta, and the video is from the beta not the actual release. There are a lot of changes especially around skill point allocation. We can tell these shots came from the beta because you only could select 3 active skills there and that is what shows up in your videos. In the real release you get 4. The same issue is there on fextralife. Please delete this inaccurate video.
What??!! There was a part two and three of this game? I thought there's only the one were it's like a funny parody of fantasy games? So is this the serious version of the series? There was a 2 and 3 of this game??!! Wow...that's the battle system? A turn based thing? Now it's not looking good...

You can also trade a mercenary token to the Review Board downstairs to respec a character (re-pick all their skills), if you need to.

Huh, kinda looks like a "modernized" Darkest Dungeon, might have to check picking this up at some point.

He keeps talking about DPS and I don't know what DPS is.

It actually gave the game more depth and less limitations. It is a great Game Design decision. The game isn't really good overall though.

Please, God, try to sound more interesting than a door knob. The monotonous cadence made this unwatchable.
