Don't feel too bad about ranting about the hobby. Zeeree's videos lately are 25% him opening cards, 25% telling you about the product & 50% of him expecting/whining/tantruming when there isn't a Bedard in every pack not just every box. I think someone got a little spoiled a long the way. ;) Anh then again look @ the bright side of the Bedard hype - pretty sure next years products will be a lot cheaper than this years.
I have a feeling there will be a bounty on Michael Misa, Macklin Celebrini, and all other top picks to come....I've heard Bedard has a cousin who's pretty good too.

I bought two boxes $ 700 cad pulled 2 bedards paid for the box
They tested the market and it was a complete success…2024-25 product will come down in price next year but let’s not be fooled if there are some really good prospects in next years boxes, we can say good bye to 150$ hobby boxes for good. The new norm will be 200$ a box and that’s thanks to all of us chasing after bedard cards 😂 paying stupid prices…I bought 2 blaster and a tin just so I can say I tried…I tried and thank goodness I can add a really good young gun to my PC
The price was set before the bounty though, but yeah I guess it could be planned out. Not a fan personally. Priced it out of my budget for this round, same for SPA I guess. Glad I get to enjoy it through you though, so thank you! Great video! Nice hearing your take.
I'm not likely to get too involved with SPA if the price is inflated as much as people are saying....as much as I'd love to get a case, I may only get a box (or two).
Walmart price ($89 thin, $39 blasters in CAD) are showing how it should be priced and when it will hit epack, we will see who is milking this product as much. (I don't think it's UD as much as we think...)
And in any other year, we would be happy to get a Leo Carlsson in a regular priced box!

The reason theyre offering the million dollar bounty is simple...people will want to open their boxes instead of keeping them for re sale in 5 years at $1000+. I myself invested in 19 boxes of "live" Bedard products...and I keep thinking "Do I have the million dollar card?"...and then I tell myself.... it's going to end up on a live box break for a giant Upper Deck seller, or itll be found by an insider....we'll see...

Why would they. Everyone is making money off of the large group breakers while the actual hobby enthusiast take the brunt of the pain financially

I could see UD upping their prices as they watch the price hikes. You don't think they are gonna want a cut of that extra money...... And then when the players are Bedard caliber we'll be paying that extra cost for nothing.
i don't think it was the bounty that upped the price, it was the greed. funny thing is the only place i've seen sell this series at a fair price was walmart. lol walmart is more honest than every hobby shop there is. except zephir epic, they're not crooks either.
The bounty certainly doesn't help.. upper deck is a business.. so is the shop offering the bounty..a business will look to add value to any of their products. That's literally the bottom line... If someone has a chance of winning a million dollars that seriously increases the value while keeping the cost the same for upper deck. Increase value = increased price. Upper deck can now set whatever elevated price they want. And the bounty shop has to set their price accordingly to profit. The shop likely bought a million dollars worth of product/profit, or more and then set the bounty to drive sales quickly... I'm not saying the 2 companies planned it... If they did well played, if not both companies will profit loads. And still... Well played...
@@VincentTrioreau it was that price before the bounty tho. Its not upper deck upping costs either. Maybe a little. But not to the 3 4 hundy mark. Lol Walmarts selling blasters for 40 and tins for 100 in Canada. That's all you really need to figure out where the gouging started lol

I dnt think the million dollar bounty has nothing to with it cause boxes pre sale was 169$ then 199$ then it was 240$ I just think once the Easter egg of Connor was going for 1000s 1 sold for 13 grand on eBay n once companies seen that they raised prices Again

I don't like the high price, I've just accepted it is what it is....and yes, it's a lot easier to do after hittiing the money card(s).
Compared to the other 4 sports ( including soccer cards), hockey cards are dirt cheap...even series 2.
True, my son is into basketball cards, decent but lower end hobby boxes go for more than 500$ a box…BUT they are also way more popular and have a much bigger market than hockey. But yeah I know what your saying.
@@phils6733 that $500 NBA is probably equivalent to the $96 canadian I spent on 2023-24 O Pee Chee hockey on preorder last fall...let's go Wembanyama! If only Wemby was next year...I couldn't afford to invest in him AND Bedard.

I kind of looked at it as I am taking a trip soon (small one) but one of those boxes is pretty much the price of the trip. I won't be going to into this series just because right now, it seems like too much and every one I have seen has been pulling one. It seemed a lot harder to get a Caufield for example. For their basic product and for the amount and variants of Bedard I am seeing also the fact that there is no Fantili in this one. I will get a couple blasters and buy a couple single packs but the the price has got me out of this set.

After watching several breaks and seeing multiple Bedards do we feel they might have over printed the YG and that will dictate the resell price under 1k in a few months? I wonder how many of these packs will end up MJ Mystery Cubes in a few years🙂
They made more than they made of McD...time will tell how many collectors are out there down the road but by the looks of things there's no slowing down anytime soon. I see MJH being around for awhile too, they are the retail giants.
1 bedard per case on average…this kid mind you deserved all the hype he got but I’m sure UD made 3-4 times more product than years before, if that’s the case than bedard will fall under the same 3-4 times the amount printed of bedard…still not an easy pull, I was lucky but unfortunetly some won’t be

Nobody asked for this stupid bounty. It was the only way they could justify pricing a hockey product the way it is and convincing everyone to 'gamble' & to mass open hockey. I don't like it b/c it affects what I can ultimately open so now I'm stuck with inflated retail instead. So what are the choices? Buy nothing & hit the secondary singles market or just boycott altogether. This is going to be really interesting to see where Series 2 (hobby and retail) is a year down the road. At what price point are hobby shops & the distributor not moving product? At some point saturation & discontent occurs and then things go on sale. Will it happen? No idea but it will be interesting to see how it unfolds given time.

The price is everyone's fault. The people who set the price the way it is and the people who buy it anyway at said price.
Look at all of the 2023-24 products minus Series 1, every product is more expensive than the 2022-23 version of that product but It'll still be bought up anyway. A precedent is being set for 24-25 and beyond and it's not a good one.
I'm buying past products at a discount, It's all I can do really. I don't want to stop ripping but I can't support the 2023-24 prices, not just series 2 either.
Agreed, I've always liked Synergy but the rest of the hobby world doesn't seem to share the same opinion....as the price drops continue on it I will likely rip into more Syn. 🤔🤫🙏(pray for me) ...perhaps one day the world might love Synergy like they do now with Bedard and I'll be able to buy my Ferrari 🤣😂 🏎
@@standing0 Trust me I was in the same boat for a long time about Synergy. But I think the current state of affairs might actually do wonders for something like Synergy. I actually picked up a box of 22-23 Synergy myself and I'm going to be giving it a try in the future. While Synergy is a bit of a weird product I think the biggest issue was that it was priced too high for a product that didn't guarantee an auto.
Products like that (that don't guarantee an auto) in my opinion should be priced lower than the flagship products. But what do I know I'm just a guy in the youtube comment section lol.
