Gods Reclamation bro just one advice, and not to say anything bad about these other smaller companies cause what they are doing is awesome but I used to have a 3 piece Sjc kit and a 3 piece Pork pie kit which is another smaller good reputation company but I used those kits for awhile. Both those kits cost around 2,500 and 2,800 for basic ass hardware and Keller shells which all these smaller companies use the same shells and don't build their own shells. The only difference comes from the bearing edge and aesthetic finishes and all use similar basic mounting systems and hardware on the kits with just some differences in the lugs, but then decided to buy a 5 piece Tama starclassic BB kit and was shocked at how much cheaper they were. It cost me 1,960 shipped for a 5 piece shipped straight from the Tama factory in the exact hardware and sizes I wanted. The Tama 5 piece cause 1,960 compared to these smaller drum companies that charge so much for just a 3 piece basic hardware kit. When I got the Tama I was a different level of a drum kit from the feel to the sound to the quality and build in general. And the hardware on the Tama starclassic kit is just A MILLION times better and easier and more durable and stronger. The quick lock tom mounts and quick lock floor tom legs are the best invention ever and the swivel wing mounting system is so comfortable and versatile and the air cushioned floor toms make playing them soo inspiring and feels so good. The Tama kit just kills those other two kits in every single way and I sold those two kits right away cause I knew I would never look at them ever again. There is just a big difference between a big innovating company like Tama compared to these smaller companies which are more expensive in some cases. The Tama starclassic is one of the most popular and most respected drum lines ever and they are cheaper than a basic Keller shell kit from a smaller company unless you wanna buy the top top top tier tama star kit which is just ridiculous in price. But the starclassic BB is the most popular Tama kit cause of the affordability and what you get for the price. and Most Sjc artists are all from that punk/screamo/post hardcore scene from warped tour. But recently a lot of the Sjc artists are switching to Tama, Pearl, DW and it's no coincidence why. I know these smaller companies have to charge more to keep the business going but for the consumer perspective, My best advice would be to go with Tama all day everyday if u want better hardware, better quality, better durability, better feeling, better sounding and just a better kit in every single way.
Andy Ham damn, thanks for the reply, I've always been stuck on Mapex and Tama from Tama BB and Mapex Saturn. I wish Tama had more finishes other then what I see on the internet. The Tama starclasssic bubinga is monster. Mapex is good also. Good to hear from a Tama perspective tho as I always hear a lot of Tama and what they offer.
So excited for more SJC!!!!
Thank you!
Soon, I hope that Nick and Sweetwater will take a tour of the new SJC Factory
I'm so excited that Sweetwater carries SJC now, and I can't wait to try more of their stuff out! Thank you Sweetwater!
