I FORGOT to add (because I have boys and I'm used to not having one) that you don't necessarily need a wheel, but if you have female rats I highly recommend it (Male rats tend to be less likely to use one but it's worth a try) but you need to make sure the wheel is big enough. 14 inches for females, and 16 inches for males, anything smaller for large adult rats could pose a risk to them. I have a video on my channel talking about wheels for mice and rats if you're interested in learning more but please just make sure they're the right size.
Emiology my boys are wayyyyyy too lazy to get out of their hammock I think it’s because they don’t have an active layout at the moment as we are hopefully getting rats from a breeder Aurora rattery (Lyn hopefully) it was so sad about her kittens 😭 but the boys haven’t gotten an active layout as I’m waiting for the babies to come they haven’t done much around the cage 😂👍❤️

My rats don't live in a cage, they live in a freaking kingdom. $850 floor to ceiling massive cage. With several hammocks to choose from, tons of chewing and foraging toys, a few pieces of fleece for burrowing, 8 water bottles scattered throughout, 6 floors to run up and down, more treats than they should probably be having, Tons of playtime outside the cage, and an almost broke owner who spent over $1500 on them. Please try find a respectable breeder or rescue. As some are just in for the cash or because the breeders can have 'accidental' litters and don't tell you so. Also it may take time to realize too.
This is a great video. Pear shaped hooks (like the ones used to hang the ropes) are not safe and can be deadly. Try zip ties, C shape shower hooks, short pieces of twine or plastic chain.
I got my rat cage today, and I got some paper based pellets for the bedding, but it's basically the same stuff that you use for your litter tray? is there anything you would recommend (preferably from Amazon) that I could use for the main bedding?

When I saw the bell at 8:24 I got flashbacks to when I gave my rats a bell sort of like it. Yeah, I had to take it out of the cage and put it in their playpen because the constant bell ringing was driving me crazy lol
i am getting rats tomorrow, they will be used for my science project at first, but i wanna give them the best life :D
I also wanted to have a pet that I can talk to and play to everytime Im feeling alone or sad and thinking of a white mice is unexpected for me but white mice is just so cute that I wanted it to be my pet. And Finally My sister told me she have white mice and its pregnant so she's going to give me its children and I am so excited about it... and Thanks Emi for your videos I love it so much!
Can't wait to set up my new cage. I love your rattos. They are so cute! Great cage ideas, thanks.
Can you use pine pellets for litter? (This is what I use for my cats so I was wondering)
No when they get wet they go down to dust which isn’t good
This video was super helpful! I am currently ordering my supplies and this gave me tons of ideas!
I'm getting some rats next week. I'm so excited. Two boys names welcome 😁
Can you give them a cloth bedding but then provide a dig box or should you just always use a bedding they can dig in?
I’m looking into getting some rats from a breeder near me! This video came at a great time, thanks 💖x
Hiiiii
Please try find a respectable breeder or rescue. As some are just in for the cash or because the breeders can have 'accidental' litters and don't tell you so. Also it may take time to realize too.
me too I'm so excited I can't stop talking about them. just trying to find a good breeder.
Imms&Olls I’m pretty sure 100% a reputable one, when I watched Emi’s video about breeders she had ticked all of the boxes x

How do you put the clear barrier together?
This is a great video. Pear shaped hooks (like the ones used to hang the ropes) are not safe and can be deadly. Try zip ties, C shape shower hooks, short pieces of twine or plastic chain.
Can or have you made a video on where you can buy these accessories? ❤️🐀🐁
I got my rat cage today, and I got some paper based pellets for the bedding, but it's basically the same stuff that you use for your litter tray? is there anything you would recommend (preferably from Amazon) that I could use for the main bedding?
Hey, does anyone know were to get the plastic liners for the critter nation that you put at the bottom so you can add more bedding so they can burrow?
What paint did you use for the wine rack?
Hehe I don’t have any rats but I have a hamster and he’s chilling next to me while I’m watching this and he just gave me the dirtiest look when he heard the word rat 😂😂
What did u use on the bottom of the cage to make the tub, what is that clear stuff called where can I get it.
I'm so happy I just thrifted a green ikea shelve and my rats love sleeping in it
Love it so much more without the shelf the CN comes with! Feels more open
