IFRA advocacy achievements in Europe

In 2024, IFRA focused on revising the Detergent Regulation, advocating for proportionate provisions for fragrance ingredients, particularly on biodegradability, already regulated under REACH. Looking to 2025, the regulation is expected to be finalized alongside major EU legislative developments, including a revised REACH and a new Circular Economy Package with updates on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulations. IFRA will continue engaging with European institutions, partners, and national associations to ensure a comprehensive regulatory framework supporting the fragrance industry’s growth.
