Jordan had an invincibility about him you had to witness to understand! The last 45 seconds of game 6 - '98 NBA Finals illustrate he was the best player at both ends of the court who somehow always knew what to do next! Never before and likely never again will we see his equal!
I’m super excited 😆 for the LAST DANCE documentary. A lot of stuff behind the scenes will be brought to light 💡 or at least it seems that way after watching the trailer
Jordan could be a little more grateful to Krause. The guy put a team around Jordan that could win championships. If Jordan always got his way the Bulls would look like the teams Jordan put together as an exec and owner, struggling to make the playoffs. You would think Jordan being below average as an owner/exec would give him some insight into the value Krause brought.
Yaya exegetical it iwas made to miss ten years of it because they occupied the scenery..... Great job and I'm anyway to old and away not good enough to make it
Fantastic video and You are so spot on what happend that season and the ”load” MJ carried during the season and playoffs! An amazing way to close his career and the Bulls dominance!
Back then it always struck me as really preposterous that anyone could actually doubt MJ and the Bulls. If you watched their games and especially their playoff series through that era, it became increasingly obvious every season how utterly unstoppable Michael Jordan had become. There was simply no way that any team could stand up to Chicago and hope to take 4 out of 7 games. MJ was not gonna let that happen.
Yes I strongly believe that's absolutely true if the BULLS would have stayed together they would have most definitely have beaten the SAN ANTONIO SPURS,and possibly the HOUSTON ROCKETS and a few other teams!!! The SPURS and the ROCKETS are the two teams I always had wished they would have played in the NBA FINALS then of course KOBE'S and SHAQ'S LAKER'S as well!!! Those would have been the BULLS toughest challenges in the NBA FINALS!!! I still believe they would have beaten those teams going the distance to a game seven against the ROCKETS and the LAKERS and the SPURS to a game six Long live the CHICAGO BULLS and MICHAEL JORDAN!!! Great video!!!👌👌👌
I agree being Portland with an older Scottie pippen pushed Lakers to 7 games and should have won. On that alone there's no doubt Michael Jordan and his Chicago bulls would have beaten Lakers probably in 6..
It's funny to watch this video after The Last Dance documentary. Jonny: I'm barely scratching the surface, I don't want the video to be one hour long Netflix: hahaha how about 10h long
People said he's not the G.O.A.T. let's not talk about 1992 season. MVP of the league, MVP All Star game, MVP in the Finals,. Won a gold medal with the Dream Team. Slam dunk champion. Jordan was the best NBA Player the past, present and future. And he done that against Hall of Fame players. Thank about the people who he stopped from getting a championship.
I believe the Bulls could've broken the Celtics' record of eight in a row, and won nine in a row. If MJ hadn't left to go play Baseball, he would've been even better, instead of having to take time to shake the rust off. The 1999 season was only 50 games (lockout), and them boys could've easily gone 40-10, back to the Finals. The ONLY three people on all six championship squads were MJ, Pippen and Phil (along with his staff). They were the cornerstones of the dynasty, so I have no doubt they could've made history with nine in a row. Just my two cent...
While Pippen had been struggling with back issues for years, it was actually surgery on his foot (injury suffered in 97 playoffs) he put off until the fall of '97, forcing him to miss a big portion of the season
The NBA was 💩 during Jordan's title runs. Please Bird's Celtics, Magic's Lakers even Dr.J's Sixers would of Dominated. Chicago played the Nets who were weak, Charlotte another average team with a winning record. Then the Overrated Indiana Pacers like the weak ass Knicks who could never beat anybody when it mattered.. neither could Utah. 1998 Bulls team wasn't that impressive
@@melvynsngltn27 funny u said that. Magic had easily the easist paths to the finals EVER. Name one good 80s Western Conference team. Thats right u cant cuz it wasnt one. Houston was only good in 81 and 86,Mavericks never was a challenge,San Antonio and Golden State was garbage. Need I say more 🤷♂️
no comment nah older teams struggled that offseason MJ fucked his shooting hand up for life as well Pippen got back surgery Rodman never played 20 nba games in a season again.
At age 35 Mike played 82 games..averaged near 40mins a game...all d first team..scoring champ finals mvp.. and all star mvp...nowadays players cry about playing 70 games.
No they don’t, load management is determined by the organization not the players. Many players play over 70 games, and the talent has increased in todays lead and is more advanced
Did everyone forget about Derrick Rose, Noah and Butler run. The Bulls were good enough to make it to the finals again after the 98 season but as we all know the Heat got in our way too many times. There will never be a better player than Jordan ever again. (At least in my lifetime)
I think 2015 was their best chance - even though injuries piled up for Joakim Noah and especially Derrick Rose (he was no longer the same after the ACL injury), they had the best chance to be the East's top dog. And mind you, this was the East in which LeBron James decided to come back to Cleveland and he pretty much carried a wounded Cavs squad on his own (Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were injured early on) to the ECF and beat the Bulls to face the Warriors. Now, we may only specualte what could've been if Carmelo Anthony choosed the Bulls offer and would that have been the key piece, but by 2017 it was all blown up - Noah and Rose were dumped to the Knicks after the 2016 season, Jimmy Butler was traded to the Timberwolves and guys like Pau Gasol, Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade (yes, Wade played for his home town) were also let go. And since then the Bulls are in rebuild mode.
MJ in 1998 carried the second worst supporting cast in the finals of all time. They averaged less than 55 points. The only person who saw worst than MJ was Allen Iverson in 2001.
Theng Yang oh yeah especially 97 and 98, but he was the only player the whole tenure. But to lead two different teams (rosters) to two 3peat in 8 years is crazy.
thats my point for a while now..30 over 90 is way more than 30 over 120..also offensive rebounds are way more than uncontested defensive rebounds picked in empty paint from failed 3 point shot that come by the hundreds..and passes to 3 point shooters hanging around the perifery ARE NOT assists..
It goes like this jits: MJ > a big gap > (Magic, Bird, Kareem in any order for 2-4) > The Big Fundamental > Black Mamba > The Dream > (Here is where the debate starts, if you ask me, Shaqs 8, Wilt 9, Russell 10, leflop 11)
No way in hell Kobrick, Duncan or Olajuwon is over Chamberlain or Russell. I say Wilt, Kareem, Jordan any order followed by Bill Russell, Magic, Bird, after that Shaq, Duncan, followed by anyone else. Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Moses Malone, Dr.J, Kobe, whoever
the big fundamental and kobe are top players but nowhere near the top of the line , the names who made the NBA into what it is..dr j is definately one of the top 5 players and the first nba planetary superstar, the man that mj replaced on the throne according to sports illustrated, voted top 40 athelete of 20th century next to names like ali carl louis nadja comanetsi etc, and the reason of a league merger and many other stuff FIRST in bb history..kobe and duncan didnt carve their game in stone neither did they advance it to a different level period..after wilt and russell there was dr j the most insatiable artist of the game and the biggest fan magnet ever(only comparable to mj), then came the lakers and the celticks super team rivalry lead by magic , kareem and larry and then mj..since then nba still looks for a figure to advance its statue which is in steady and steep decline by now..the mvp cant dominate on a personal level teams like poland and a bunch of " superstars " including lebron wade bosh howard paul and carmello gets crushed by greece hands down..look at the 1994 usa team of grand, price, miller, shaq , kemp, larry johnson, dumars etc polverising the russians with 55 on a fast break tempo as if there ware no opponents in the game older than 15 year old..
Melvyn Singleton wilt shot same FG % as MJ when paint was 12 feet and he was 7 feet tall vs 16 feet for MJ a 6’6 guard if he really that tall! Example: Wilt 46% FG/ MJ 46% FG age 35, Wilt 2nd season .509%, MJ .515% FG as a rookie, Wilt 4th season .528%, MJ 4th .535%, Wilt never beat that until his 7th NBA season paint was 12 feet all those years that’s NCAA, except 1, then he finally beat it at .540% FG, MJ best is .539% FG his 7th season. When they stopped Wilt from shooting he finally became as efficient as a Shaq or more so.
Btw... Mj was playing with injuries. Also worth noting was MJ's 'rebounding' that season. There were many games in which MJ had to get more rebounds due to Rodman's limited numbers and Pip's absence.
In his book Eleven Rings, Phil Jackson said Rodman was the guy that picked it up that season and played "MVP basketball on both ends of the court". Also, in the 98 playoffs Rodman went up against an All-Star in every round. That was a tough year because the Bulls had no post defenders in the playoffs, besides Rodman and Longley. Phil was a maestro in those playoffs trying to keep Rodman and Longley out of foul trouble because they were going up against some monsters (Jayson Williams, Divac, Mason, The Davis's, Smits, Malone) with no depth. It was also their best playoff run in my opinion. They never lost a game by more than 3 points and put that epic beatdown on the Jazz in game three of the finals.
This why fools be fighting over his damn shoes to this damn day including fools that weren't even born yet when the Bulls were winning all those Finals... JORDAN = G.O.A.T
@@TheTariqibnziyad you mean MJ. For the first five chips Pippen and Rodman wet producing really well. Ok I know Rodman joined in 96 but you get my point.
Yeah Krause was trying to tank all of Jordan's young years...and JORDAN would still get them in the playoffs...Oakley a top 6/7 PF with Buck Williams,Karl Malone,Barkley, Rodman, etc, should of never been traded...1999 Bulls would of defeated the 1999 Spurs for a last 7th ring cuz JORDAN only wanted 1 more season...also Krause wanted to trade PIPPEN for TMAC but Jordan said no.
Long post warning. Apologies in advance if you decide to tap ‘read more’. Really impressive video, Jonny. Don’t get me wrong, I’m far from an expert (in _anything_ really), but this has definitely opened my eyes to what was going on behind closed doors during this golden period for the Bulls and the nba (and for basketball in general, and to be fair; for sport and sports marketing). Fascinating insights about an era in basketball that I’m not sure will ever be repeated with such perfection. It’s hard to believe that there was anyone involved with the organisation _not_ cheering every step of the way. But Jerry strikes me as someone who simply wanted his financial returns to continue beyond what was right (and fair for everyone). Greed. And while I’m here, I’m going to say that I believe MJ’s comment about Curry not being a hall of famer yet has been completely blown out of proportion. He’s right. He’s not in the hall of fame yet. Of course he will be. I can’t wait to read/watch the next interview MJ does where he gets to address that. Anyway, that’ll do from me. Sorry to go on so much. I’ve been on a huge MJ streak lately (also, re-living my teenage years as I watched the videos about the first three-peat). And this video of yours has just made all that even better in my opinion. Thank you for all the energy you’ve put into this. Best of wishes and continued success for the rest of your journey Jonny. Casey Ps. And I didn’t know about the espn/Netflix doco either. Thanking you _very_ kindly indeed for that smile deep in my soul ((: PPS. Feel free to delete this comment if you want to, Jonny. I’ll understand entirely.

Jonny Arnett -NBA UA-camr and you’re a gentleman, too, it seems. Thank you for your kindness. Looking very forward to following your path wherever it takes you now.
The Jerry’s and Daryl Morey’s of the world can be found at mostly every large corporation. These are the type of managers that actually believe they are the soul reason for the companies success.
I side with Krause and Management on their opinion of MJs injury. I’d try and do the same if I had their job. So many athletes have come back too early from injury and completely ruined their career
Got robbed of an interesting or competitive series in '99 had they retained Phil Jackson and the squad going up against the spurs with Duncan, Robinson, Popovich... 🤔🤔🤔
I may be lacking in context of the situation. But why on earth would the Bulls choose Jerry Krause over Phil & MJ? Those Bulls had at least one more run in them. Why not fire Krause? And many guys around the league came back from the lockout that next 98-99 season out of shape. That would’ve made it that much easier for them. No question MJ would’ve stayed in shape
The owner of the Bulls then and still to this day is Jerry Reinsdorf. Reinsdorf hired Krause in the first place. Jerry Krause was the Basketball mind, while Jerry Reinsdorf wasn't the most knowledgeable basketball person. Even Reinsdorf admitted that. He had a very hands off approach. He believed his job was simply to put the right people in place who knew what they were doing. Reinsdorf was extremely grateful for the contributions Krause made. After all, Krause orchestrated a team that won 6 championships in 8 years. I think the last thing on Reinsdorf's mind was firing Krause. Reinsdorf might have even believed that Krause could rebuild a contender... Krause certainly thought he could.
Jonny Arnett -NBA UA-camr / Gotcha. Thank you for the intel. That was much needed. In hindsight, considering that Krause went on to retire in ‘03 anyway, Reinsdorf still would’ve been better off letting him go. Imagine the toxicity with Krause having an issue with Scottie, MJ, & Phil. Let alone other players. But I suppose I understand the decision from the owner’s perspective
They may not have won without Bill Cartwright. They had Horace Grant, they wanted to develop him otherwise he would have left. But they had NO defensive center.

its why i said when The Last Dance came out, most of that shit was known by most hardcore hoop fans and u coulda googled most of that and read articles.
swear man u the best basketball youtuber and it aint even close. i got tired of most of em and usubbed, cuz its the same surface level type shit. love ur work keep goin
This guy is the goat and look at his numbers when he play with the wizards at age 40
As a die hard Bulls fan i appreciate this video, and it also made me more bitter at our front office at the same time.
At MJs Hall of Fame speech he said he didn't know who invited Krause. If you know anything about MJ, you know he'll take that grudge to his grave. Lol
Lol he said that?!
Krause was the worst thing that ever happened to the build..Plus he traded Oakley to the NY...and was totally the cause of the Team breaking up..
Good video. I never realized how much MJ carried that season
35 yrs old, played all 82 reg season games and led the league in scoring. So much for "load management" 😁
And played all play-off games
Greatest Player of All-Time 🔥🔥🔥
Letz go a 🐐 UPLOADED
Yaya exegetical it iwas made to miss ten years of it because they occupied the scenery..... Great job and I'm anyway to old and away not good enough to make it
No question no doubt Jordan will always be GOAT
he wasn't quite as elite as oscar robertson kareem abdul-jabbar wilt chamberlain and bill russell
@jocriss why don't you since you're clueless so tell me do you feel like you're an idiot or moron i like you either way
@jocriss how are you gonna prove me wrong at all tell me i still like you and appreciate your honesty seriously
@jocriss why did the 1992 and 1998 bulls have so much playoff trouble
@jocriss michael jordan had wilt chamberlain tell him the rules were changed in the more recent years to make things easier
0:08 That is the greatest post fade i've ever seen
This was great bro. Thank you
I wish this video was a hour long. I love this story. Please make longer videos my brother
Fantastic video and You are so spot on what happend that season and the ”load” MJ carried during the season and playoffs! An amazing way to close his career and the Bulls dominance!
DA GOAT!!!!
Just coming back to this video and appreciating that Jonny made this video 6 months before #TheLastDance got released.
Jonny: I'm barely scratching the surface, I don't want the video to be one hour long
Netflix: hahaha how about 10h long
Shout out those watching after the documentary!
Awesome tell! All true and then some
People said he's not the G.O.A.T. let's not talk about 1992 season.
And he didn't win ASG MVP neither Magic did
I believe the Bulls could've broken the Celtics' record of eight in a row, and won nine in a row.
After 4-5 wins they would’ve lost motivation no doubt, and probably would not threepeat the second time
Love your content. That definitely was jordan's greatest season and the greatest season by any NBA player. No question about it.
Not to mention that the N.B.A. was way more physical back then, as well.
This is the Last Dance before the Last Dance
While Pippen had been struggling with back issues for years, it was actually surgery on his foot (injury suffered in 97 playoffs) he put off until the fall of '97, forcing him to miss a big portion of the season
This video is so much truth. Man great job.
6:50 Rodman in the paint working on his brazilian jiu jitsu🤣🤣
The bulls could've won in 99 due to the short season and the rest they would get.
A longer offseason but they would have to play a crammed 50 game schedule plus playoffs with rare off days.So don't be so sure.
Need I say more 🤷♂️
@@elbowgang9715 take him to school. Lol he has no idea what he is talking about
no comment nah older teams struggled that offseason MJ fucked his shooting hand up for life as well Pippen got back surgery Rodman never played 20 nba games in a season again.
MJ = Undisputed GOAT
At age 35 Mike played 82 games..averaged near 40mins a game...all d first team..scoring champ finals mvp.. and all star mvp...nowadays players cry about playing 70 games.
Load managment and not playing defense smh
@@hakeemolajuwonBESTROCKET the organization chooses load management not the players
That team lebron dragged in 07 wasnt good either lol.
Comn to america..u must b out yo got damn mind
j Aust lebron teammates averaged over 60+ points in that series. LeBron had no excuse.
Had the leading rebounder, best 2nd player, best sixth man, best 3pt shooter & best coach
Jordan had two hall of famers, a great 6th man and the most accurate three point shooter of all time.
Lot of people don't know that MJ played with a broken finger in his shooting hand this season.
He the best period
How can someone dislike this video?
Besides pippen my man lead two different bulls teams to two 3peats. The GOAT.
Pippen was out most of regular n playoffs..Jordan The GOAT
Theng Yang oh yeah especially 97 and 98, but he was the only player the whole tenure. But to lead two different teams (rosters) to two 3peat in 8 years is crazy.
Kenneth Erickson that’s why i said he took two different teams to a 3 peat.
Great job 👍🏼
1998 was jordan's greatest season but I feel 1989 season was his best season. There is a difference beteween greatest and the best season.
in my opinion your best season cant be a season where you didnt win the chip
@Nick Kabeya what?
@@emrahzehic634 so 2016 isnt Steph Curry's greatest season individually according to your logic🤦♂️
@@elbowgang9715 it is not because he didnt win a chip even tho his team was favorite
If 89 was his 32 8 and 8 year then i agree.
Once again can someone remind me who da phuck is *Lebron* ....🤔
It's very possible to appreciate both without bringing down another. You're no better than his hardcore fans.
2nd greatest player of all-time
2:02. MJ looking like he rolling up a blunt lol
Simply the GOAT, offense and defense...
thats my point for a while now..30 over 90 is way more than 30 over 120..also offensive rebounds are way more than uncontested defensive rebounds picked in empty paint from failed 3 point shot that come by the hundreds..and passes to 3 point shooters hanging around the perifery ARE NOT assists..
Melvyn Singleton 22 point playoff Wilt a 12 foot paint dominant scorer 16 feet paint scoring dropped!
Melvyn Singleton MJ in way less minutes played than Wilt or anyone else accomplished way more
China to NBA: "Shut up and dribble"
I love you Lain
@@Adyman182 Love you too

@@legendarywiimaster yea
It's all Krause's fault.
I think it’s safe to say Krause was an idiot and had no business being a GM.
Krause had a huge ego too
@@JoseJimenez-tl4tc bruhh whaaaaaat
@Gene Bone EXACTLY
I'm hoping to see more of these in bulls documentary next year.
Without MJ retiring we win 8 straight. 98 was by far the hardest we started to show our age
Casey
Ps. And I didn’t know about the espn/Netflix doco either. Thanking you _very_ kindly indeed for that smile deep in my soul ((:
PPS. Feel free to delete this comment if you want to, Jonny. I’ll understand entirely.
You kidding me?! I aint deleting this! I love comments and insights like this! The MJ thing was blown waaay out of proportion. MJ even had a goofy smile on his face as he said it. Media just loves comments like that, because it grabs attention.
Appreciate you supporting! This is definitely channel for you if you like MJ vids. haha. Most of my subs came from MJ videos, so I feel I owe it to them to keep producing them :)
Jonny Arnett -NBA UA-camr and you’re a gentleman, too, it seems. Thank you for your kindness. Looking very forward to following your path wherever it takes you now.
Jordan #1 no else come close
This is why MJ is the undisputed goat. No one else comes close. There's no debate.
The Jerry’s and Daryl Morey’s of the world can be found at mostly every large corporation. These are the type of managers that actually believe they are the soul reason for the companies success.
if MJ did not retired perphaps they could have a 10 championships :)
"If" should never be in the dictionary because you never see the flip side of that...
- Michael Jordan
I side with Krause and Management on their opinion of MJs injury. I’d try and do the same if I had their job. So many athletes have come back too early from injury and completely ruined their career
Got robbed of an interesting or competitive series in '99 had they retained Phil Jackson and the squad going up against the spurs with Duncan, Robinson, Popovich... 🤔🤔🤔
Would bodied Tim and David like usual
This makes Michael Jordan the Greatest of All Time.
Jordan is the man
I may be lacking in context of the situation.
Michael Jordan's career was biblical.
Krause destroyed my side one man messed up a whole season trading Oakley was the biggest ops in NBA history
They may not have won without Bill Cartwright. They had Horace Grant, they wanted to develop him otherwise he would have left. But they had NO defensive center.
