Thanks for hammering out this chaotic rant into something that actually makes sense to listen to, hah. I really did go into that with a plan on what I wanted to talk about, but I really started meandering fast.
I thought for a while if I wanted to leave a comment or not, but honestly, in this world you will get screwed if you stick your neck out or not. I'd rather just make some kind of difference before my luck runs out, and audacity has always been a good way to extend my luck.

Its really tough, kids would go to school off whatever they could, xaxs, molly, oxy, you name it. Some of those kids died and its sad, most of them got the help they needed. Please, never do any sort of pill in your life, not even prescription pills like Adderall. in fact either stay away from drugs or just stick to pot.

This reminds me of my classmate.
He'd get a hold of vapes just to sell them. I saw that he was vaping in the middle of our highschool personal finance class and ignored it other than telling him to put it away before he gets caught.
The teacher was right in the back of the classroom while I was in the front near him. (I was the one blocking the teacher's view of him vaping just because of where I sat)
On his last year of highschool he missed 4 months of school because his parents kicked him out of the house making him homeless in those 4 months.
He packed some things and lived under a bridge for a bit.
He wasn't able to get to school and when his parents finally accepted him back into their home he was stopping his vaping he did constantly.
He was selling all the vapes to people who were too young to buy one themselves but he sold all of his personal ones that he used.
He basically was quiting everything he did with vapes.
When he came back to school I offered to help him in the class we had together. I gave him my papers that we're already graded so he could cheat and get those 4 months of work done at the last week of school.
He did get mad and took his anger out on the nicest student in our school just because she was nearby.
He basically shoved her into a locker and called her a b**ch.
She ended up telling the principal what he did to her, the camera footage was checked, and he was arrested.
He was so much into vaping and selling vapes that he wasn't really himself anymore. He was so addicted to this and I'm just glad he was able stop it when he was 18 after 4 years of this.
I just hope he can at least turn his life around for the better.
(Btw he did tell me that he sold a brand new vape to a 8 year old once. The kid immediately opened it and used it right Infront of him. The kid's older brother bought it with his little brother for his little brother to use. That's one of the reasons why he wanted to stop all of his ties to vapes and vaping all together.)

My fiance is a heroin addict, one year clean. The stories she has told me, the dark depths she reached. The friends she lost, and the "friends" who took advantage of her. It's definitely a horrific path. She was only on it two months but it drastically changed her whole life. She's doing great now, finished college and is now working as a vet (and pregnant) so if anyone is out there struggling, there is hope.

What gets me is the fact that he admitted to causing people to die from an overdose by selling to them, watched them do it and did nothing and has never had to pay for his crimes... and that's fucking disgusting

What's extremely scary shit is kids get prescribed this same thing for like, sports injuries. In high school, my friend injured his shoulder, got a couple weeks worth prescribed. Got hooked, eventually couldn't get more. 10 months later almost died of heroin overdose.

I started on pills when I was 16 then became a heroine addict. I used to buy Vicodin for 3 a pill then it went up to 5 and 6 bucks - heroine was cheaper- (I’m in Texas) praise to god been clean 2 years completely.

Nope. Opioids do not "destroy" you when they are dosed properly. I had a painful operation on my jaw last June and was prescribed opioids. I only took them when I needed them, and they helped immensely. Gave them back to the pharmacist to dispose of them when I was done. Not addicted.

I'm glad you didn't fall down that hole. For a lot of people who struggle to find joy in their lives, an easy burst of happiness from a pill can quickly turn into an addiction, but it's never guaranteed.
