I think you are good as long as you don't sell it. When there are many shares "selling" for a price, that is different than what your home may be estimated to be worth, and your particular house is actually worth, and what you could sell it for. Even among houses in the same neighborhood that are the same model, some are immaculate, and some are torn up, and still yet others have been remodeled, added onto, etc. Even after selling, the rule on real estate is different than stock exchange equities. Also, your primary residence isn't considered the same as property that you rent when it comes to taxes. When you sell your primary home, under the current rule for capital gains, you and your spouse are able to have so much that is tax exempt. Having said all of this, they could change the rules, which would be a travesty.
