If you buy rings, make sure the straps have incremental lines marked on them so you can keep track of high to place the rings for different exercises.
or just mark them with a marker
But it doesn't matter too much since strap strech by the time so the marks will be usefull and inaccurate after sometime
🤓
@@Fossilized-cryptid or just bring them close and compare them with the palm of your hand
just use masking tape and adjust as needed
the best calisthenics gear is the rings for sure.
Alright there Musashi
Hell yeah 💪💪💪💪💪💪
@@youruncle7501 good ref
For sure they can be lowered to function as parallettes or raised to be a pullup bar or somewhere in the middle to be a dip station
legit rings and bands might be everything you ever need, take that my 200 quid a year gym memberships

Had me tense up with anxiety. Lol
Pro tip: Be smarter than me and buy a pair of rings with markers on the bands. Makes switching their height between exercises a lot quicker and easier. It's a pain in the ass if you have to judge whether they are at the same height or not by eye every damn time haha.
My Solution was to just draw a line to where the lengths should be
@@lored6811 I thought about doing this the other day, will probably do it soon
I got rings with caribiner straps. The rings themselves can be detached as they have their own individual small strap fastened to them with carabiners to attach to any numbered loop for even easier adjustments. Plus detachable rings makes it easier to switch from a rings to paralettes excercise and I can use these detachable rings with resistance bands for some good accessory excercises.
SharkxBait yo thanks, hadn’t thought about that
Any Amazon recommendations? I don’t know what to look for there.

Thanks!
I need to know where he got that specific pull-up bar from.
@@letshuman8985 The one that screws into the wall? That's from Pullup&Dip.
God bless!
I'd recommend adding jumping rope to the list. Best for indoor cardio or just a simple warmup.
I don't have 12 foot ceilings not even 10 foot ceilings. I'm poor.
@@blockaderunner You don't need a ceiling that high. You hold the rope at hip level which is roughly in the middle of your body so the rope goes about a foot above your head. As you're supposed to jump only about one or two inches from the ground, an 8 foot ceiling for a 6 foot person should be enough.
@@angelsjoker8190 well I don't wanna tear up my carpet, I suppose I could get a mat, but I need more square footage to justify that cause I want to do BJJ drills as well but no room
@@blockaderunner You can always do it outside. I do it in the hallway of my building. It also doesn't bother my downstairs neighbor.
I just added jump rope to my routine I just learned how to jump rope
I think i ll just take those pants, thank you

I bought this to replace a very similar item whose foam grips had worn after years of use. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxwyoGHi-cCLV1AqJYj7QeIWKSpdRMYPF1 This one is is even slightly better than the old one I had! (Sorry I don't remember the brand or model.) This bar sits a bit higher in the doorway, giving me more ground clearance for movement, and the foam grips and foam pads that protect the doorway are thicker. It was also very quick and easy to assemble. The only minor gripe I have is that the hand grips in the middle are really tight on the bar, and therefore hard to slide along the bar if you want a wider or narrower grip. You have to be patient and gradually work them into the position you want.
Always the most likeable calisthenics youtuber for me. I could listen to him muse about life in general.
I see a video from Dave, I press Like
You're very kind, thanks!
I couldn't agree you more. Keep up the good work! :)

Hybrid calisthenics is also up there

I agree with Reformat, your personality is so chill, and your videos are very informative, very easy to watch, and you seem like a very likable guy.
I appreciate your content! You're videos are some of what I watched and inspired me when I locked in my meal prepping and nutrition in April. Mainly the video you shared about how you finally got shredded. I used a similar approach and it happened for me too! Been going strong ever since!
Rings and Resistance Bands for sure! The most usefull for me! I like the lower resistance for the band, so I can use it for stretching also
Most underrated calisthenics channel on UA-cam IMO. I really like the way you find subjects that no-one else seems to have covered.
Dave back at it. Consistency is key. Love your vids. Keep em consistent.
Thanks for sharing this! My must have equipment: regular pull up bar, rings, weighted vest, resistance bands.
Thank you so much for putting this video together, I stumbled across it while I was searching for a power Tower. I'm so glad to know that there are so many different ways to do calisthenics without a giant heavy piece of equipment in my house. Thank you again, I look forward to watching your other videos and learning more about calisthenics! I have liked and subscribed!
Your spot on about the rings, bands and parallettes. By far the must haves, I've worked my way up to needing a weight belt now. Having my kids on my back while doing dips isn't as effective.
Beautiful and such a useful video, for so many people out there including me. It is very helpful to begin with everyone's home calisthenics journey. Thank you for providing the required information through your own experiences.
Well done. Your video inspire me a lot. Thank you😃
Thanks for giving me the idea to put the parallettes on four chairs to do dips... I would have never thought of that.
3:19 this had me crying hahahahah
Whahahahaha
It were funny cause his facial expression was still hyper still and cane out of nowhere!
You aussie as well? I laughed too lol
Amazing video, thank you for the advice!
Also with the rings you can perform posterior chain leg exercicies like leg curls or hip bridges so easily with quite a high intensity :D
Really helpful tip about the weighted vest and weighted belts. I was about to purchase a vest but hearing your explanation on how uncomfortable and hot it can be really saved me a lot of money to just get the belts as I already have plated weights already lying around the house.
I'm still thinking about getting or making a vest simply because i can wear it while running and i can't hang weights rom my hips before a run . . . other wise i absolutely agree that a belt would be better than the vest.
For weighted pushups I usually just put a plate into a backpack
Same!
Weigh belts are awesome, I got one a while ago for weighted pull-ups and dips and it’s so nice
It's not often, you come across a genuine calisthenics dude that is more knowledgeable and informative than he is in love with himself and how ripped he looks with his top off … Keep up the good work TrainingPal!
Just found your channel and think it’s awesome. I completely agree with and think tings are one of the best pieces of equipment you can have. Looking forward to watching through your library of videos
First vid I see on your channel and man you sound very friendly, honest and relaxing. Awsome vid and thanks for the info
Same here, already subscribed
3:19 that moment made me feel really uncomfy but the rest of the video was nice. Thank you
I thought it was funny, maybe because I'm british.

Great honest advice. You have a new subscriber. Cheers from Australia :)
Great video Pal! Very useful! Thank you
Well made video, informative, straight to the point, backed up with fair reasons.
an easy alternative for weight vest that I personally use as a beginner, is for example backpack full of books or other stuff. Just make sure it's tight and it works for all sorts of things.
Overall great video and you explain the pros and cons well!
im not a beginner and i still use this ,fill plastic bottles with water for easy measure of weight
great tip honestly
Great video man!!! Love your aptitude for teaching us :-) You look so chill and down to earth ;-)
Man this video helps a lot!!! No bs content straight to the point and very clear explanation. High quality video and very fucking helpful. Thanks !!!
I needed this video, thanks a ton!
You seem like a genuinely nice guy. Thanks for the info.
So many good advices! I've tried se of the "wasted money" toys but the door bar, rings and elastic bands, for me, are the holy Trinity 🔥🔥
Excellent material in your channel, keep up! 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Great video! Thanks for the info
Excellent information - thank you.
I have just started calisthenics and have a very simple goal at the moment of achieving pull up's. I have invested in some resistance bands but was unsure anything else would really help. I have achieve 2 pull-ups! (just!) and now feel more really is possible. Your video was/ is gold! I really don't want to waste money on anything that truly does not help and your guide has focused on what I need, thanks!
1 year in! How’s ur pull up journey?
@@kd1854 Hi I am still working on it, I am now on three (good) pull ups! I won't bore you with all the things that get in my way. But ultimately I am improving and stronger for sure. I Look/feel better and have lost some weight. I am mixing in some other exercises. I know I need to be more disciplined. Bottom line, I am moving forward. Thanks for getting touch.
@@Simon-kh2ddwhat about now? Its been 2 years
Pull up bar tip: Short of building your own pull up bar, or drilling into your ceiling, a squat rack is generally a better choice than most commercial standalone pull up bars. Even a half rack can do the trick and will be comparatively cheap (~US$100). They're usually sufficiently stable and can be weighed down even further by either storing a couple of weight plates (they usually have integrated plate storage) or by placing a couple of sandbags on it.
Thank you for the video. I never thought about how many things you could do with the rings. That was helpful.
duuuude thank you so much for this video! saved me a lot of time.
You have to make a part 2 !!!
3:17 love your cockney accent. Brilliant video sir. Very helpful.
Great video man! Very informative, thanks for sharing :D
This video was sooo great! Thanks!
The taller parallette bars are actually very versatile. You can do a lot of the same exercises with them that you can do with rings, pull up bars, and smaller parallettes: dips, body weight rows, curls and tricep extensions, as well as push up variations, levers, knee tucks and L sits.
The one he recommended or very high ones about which he said no other use than dips?
Ya. Using the small parellettes in the video can be very difficult to beginners
let alone the movement in 6:30 6:54
ua-cam.com/video/0mvAgIY2l-M/v-deo.html
different from this video , calimove suggested the pushup handles and high parallettes
just bought my first wooden rings! in my opinion it also the best investment ever! though some basic exercises like dips require some practice...but once you get comfortable, you can basically train your whole body as said in the video
It is extremely portable as well..not super heavy...and all you need is a ledge to hand them and you can alr do a full workout.
Great video and very informative. Thank you!
Thank you for the video!
TRX doesn't have to be expensive. I bought generic ones (IRibit) for like $20 and just hung them on my ring cables. They are excellent for niche exercises (like ring curl, TRX crossovers, etc.). They might also increase difficulty of dips (you have one less dimension of stability than the rings: your wrists can roll)
I don't know why I got this recommended to me but since I'm gonna be physically training within the next year this is actually a convenient recommendation
At last a good equipment for calisthenics video. Thanks a lot ❤
Do you have a link for the iron cross trainers?
Awesome video. Thanks for making it.
i'm so freaking lazy somehow i made the rings i have at home pretty much unused, after all the trouble drilling holes in the wall with anchor bolts. gonna start using them again, rings are the best.
Nice one, did you make a video for the building of your homemade garden pullup structure ?
Incredibly useful video thanks
No bs advice, big thanks mate 🔥🔥🔥
wow. clear and short advice. thanks you.
could you recommend hooks?
Really cool video. I do have a question for you. How do you determine the correct width of the hooks for the rings?
Excellent video! Thank you.
That was very useful. Thanks man.❤
My ring just arrived an hour ago and it's hard but FUN!
As for rings, people usually recommend the 28mm thickness, the official olympic measures.
yes, doing a false grip on them is easier.
But gymnasts use some kind of glove that is 2 mm so the total thickness is 32mm
If the glove is 2mm and the ring is 28mm that would be 30mm idk where u got 32mm lol
@@gbmJRHendrix sorry for my English but there is 2mm in the fingers and 2mm on the hand and you grab the ring with fingers and hand so it's 28 + 2 + 2
@Rubén González Damn... You literally just blew my mind. No need for apologies bro I'm negligent on the matter anyways
Thank you for this video 👍
I love how chill this guy is!
As for Weighted vest it's the best option when training skills such as handstand Pushups and planch...
I have a 0-30kg weight vest, it works well for calisthenics and walking.
gracefool i Don’t think wearing a weighted vest when walking is good for your joints
7:51 - naah, i'll pass on that one...
Aleksandar Ivano I learned that the hard way 😭😂
100% skipping it too 😂 I just do those self inflicted resistance patterns with a towel like Bruce Lee did. Feels really good.
Up the butt (the resistance band)
Great video showing the worthwhile equipments for training calisthenics! 👍🏼
Such a kind and generous guy
You have a serious inventory, dude.

I have the same parallettes from pull up & dip and wooden rings from pull up & dip as well. Definitely worth the money can only recommend
How wide apart should I mount the rings?
3:18 I died💀💀💀💀

Dear god, how I thankful to you and yt algorithm! Wanted to go shopping tomorrow, now I know what to buy exactly!
so helpful, thanks a lot!!
Who came back to this video after the Covid-19 outbreak to get some tips on working out at home?
I wish you all the best, stay safe and healthy, people. :)
I already bought a pull-up bar for this time.. xD
Stary safe, healthy and at home :)
@@naay72 Yeah, me too. :D And some gymnastic rings!
Get out lol
Forget the rings! Where did you get those straps man ?! I need those!
Great information. Thank you.
Very informative.
Nice outdoor setup.
👍
The Australian accent 'mate' killed me xD
For me its:
1) RINGS
2) AbWheel
3) Hanging bar
What makes you recommend the ab wheel when you can do the same thing on the rings?
@@joshuahafoka5028 hahah i was just thinking that too
@@joshuahafoka5028, not exactly the same but similar enough to warrant a 3rd movement that provides an entirely different stimulus. I would argue for dumbbells being an appropriate addition because I'm not a calisthenics purist.
Subscribed bro, for the great info you provided
Thank you for making this video.
I would add a notebook to that list.
WOW! That *was* cheap, $150. but at 3:50 you say "I do live in a very cheap country".... I'm new here (as of today) and was looking through your instagram for a clue but couldn't find one... what country? Everything looks so beautiful. 💙
@JJ 99 Awesome! Thank you! 👍

PLEASE COME BACK BRO !
Do you know where he went, I wonder what happened to him since he left
@@ic8537 Ya man
I just love his videos
don't know where he is
I add these to my favorite gears:
1. Thick rope to climb
2. Sandbag
Both promise much fun!
Above all the sandbag has a high potential for a full body workout. Imagine you squat with a 30kg bag and when you squat up you lift that bag over your head... 20 reps will kill you!!!
Yeah! I gain my weight from sandbag. Ironny.
Helpfull. Thank u. Rings were my first thaught and I will stick to them.
You have very beautiful eyes my brother
Bluuuuuue spanish eyessssss
3:19 wtf lol
🤣
thanks for sharing, pal !
I bought a ceiling-mounted pull-up bar and I am now happy that I seem to have made an okay choice. I will be able to mount rings on it as well and train with resistance bands.
I guess I really only need to invest in some medium height parallel bars now.
Thank you for the video!
Do that accent again😂😂😂😂😂
