More Home Free please. Their one of the best Acapella groups around. I know your a pentaholic, but if you give Home Free a chance you'll be amazed. They've been together almost 20 years now, so when you listen to them you can tell their harmonies and arrangement of music is so crisp. Please do more. They aren't restricted to jus country. They can sing anything even the phone book...lol. You won't go wrong chosing any song in their catalog.
Welcome to the Home Fries... Chance (the guy you didn't know) was a recent replacement for one of the groups originals. While Tim is THE BASS of the group, Chance was picked up to add Baritone, additional bass, and even more to the group. Chance is like the Gravy on your order of Home Fries. Tim's voice can shake the floor and more, but (as you heard) Chance can take us there too. I like how you mention Tim's range, and as a fun little "experiment" you need to watch (and maybe react to) a live recording of Home Free (Tim Foust) performing Your Man by Josh Turner... It showcases the groups fun attitude while at a show, and TRULY shows the AMAZING range of Tim in a laugh-out-loud way. Trust me, it'll blow your mind.
So there is actually a bit of a story here. The man who did the low note in this video was a new member at the time of this video. One of their founding members wanted to go solo and did so with their blessing after helping choose his replacement, the aforementioned new guy, Adam Chance. Now Tim _does_ go high in a few songs, but in acapella, the bass line is crazy important and, basically he _can't_ go high very often, they need him on the bass line. Chance is a baritone with a wide range and he served as the bass for his previous group. After joining Home Free, Tim taught him how to go lower, which would allow Tim to show off his range more often since there was now someone else to pick up the bass line. This video was a demonstration of Chance's new and improved range and Tim's higher register.
Adam Chance is the "new" member of the band. He is technically a baritone, but his range appears to be almost as extensive as Tim's. He is now frequently doing the really low "hum" on a lot of the songs when Tim is singing another part. Chance replaced Chris Rupp when he moved on to solo work. You should also check out the collaborations between these guys & Peter Hollens. Superb!
I'm so glad you reacted to Home Free, they are my favorite group! Their song Timeless is amazing and the video is incredible. I also recommend their covers of Love Train by the O'Jays and End of the Road by Boyz 2 men. In their cover of Blue Ain't Your Color by Keith Urban, they do choreographed dance moves that are a nod to the Spinners. They took a country song and put a bit of a Motown twist and they did an incredible job with their moves for 5 whites guys with no dance experience....lol

What a fun reaction! They don't always sing country songs, but put their own twist to the songs they sing. Try Can't Stop the Feeling, Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get it On, and Try Everything. I really like their originals Anyway the Wind Blows, Everything Will Be Okay, Timeless and Catch Me if You Can. There are a bunch of seasonal songs also, they brought Timeless out near Valentine's day. But if you want to go with the one's we just had Do You Hear What I Hear, Full of Cheer and Auld Lang Syne. Of course, I really haven't heard them sing anything I don't like. Thanks for giving the guys a try and I can't wait to see what you try next! ^_^

Chance was a great addition to the group in 2016, and sings lead sometimes, as well as taking the bass line when Tim is singing lead. If you're looking for something fun with both Tim and Chance getting to sing bass, try Hillbilly Bone. If you'd like to hear more of Rob singing lead, their End of the Road cover is great, and he's featured in several of the songs from their latest album, Dive Bar Saints. My favourite Austin leads, today at least, it may change tomorrow, are Love Train and their latest normal release - Love Me Like That, which is an original song he helped write.
The guy who sounds him and his brother formed Homefree. They are brothers. The one brother left to do some solos and also formed another group. he has sung with Homefree since on another song but can not remember which. But yes you are right. The newest guy is now permanent and he has quite the range. Check out the song Some Girls Do. By Homefree. You will see what I mean.

Enjoyed the reaction. As others have mentioned, the members have changed over time. The only remaining original member is Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. Their other original member was Chris Rupp who usually wore a cowboy hat. You saw him in the Ring of Fire video. He was replaced by Chance in mid 2016. Looking forward to more Home Free. So when you watched Ring of Fire, Chris Rupp was with the group then. He wore the cowboy hat. He and Adam, the beatboxer or aka human drum kit, were the founders of Home Free back in 2000 when they attended college. Avi Kaplan, PTX's bass singer was featured in that video. Chris left the band in 2017 and Chance replaced Chris. Chance does tenor, baritone, and bass. Tim is the deep bass singer, but he can go up to soprano. Austin is their soprano and high tenor, and Rob with the big beard is their tenor.
Great reaction, although PTX did Jolene with Dolly, Home Free is more country. So a little info, this video is usually one to watch later as Tim, the lead here, is the ground shaking bass with a 5+ octave range. The guy in the back right is Adam Chance (known as Chance) and replaces Chris Rupp who, along with Adam Rupp, cofounded Home Free. Chris left and Chance replace him. Chance was the bass in his previous group, but Tim helped him refine his lower register so he covers bass when Tim takes the lead. A great addition to HF and in the beginning was not featured much, but lately has a lot of features. The Home Free rabbit hole is deep you really can't compare PTX to HF...they compliment each other and are equally amazing, but I tend to appreciate HF more...just personal choice. The trifecta is to now give VoicePlay a listen if you have not already...their bass is equally amazing and has a lot of solo projects, as does Tim and Austin and Chance.

And yes, Tim is the groups bass, but he has a greater than 5 octave range. I usually suggest folks listen to songs where Tim goes really low before they listen to this so they can see the amazing difference. Tim not only helped Chance reach lower notes, he also is friends with Avi from PTX and helped him to get a little lower in range as well :) If you haven't seen it yet, you may want to check Home Free's Ring of Fire with Avi guesting in.
Though I'm impressed he can do the higher layers so well, I'd still rather hear him rattle the speakers with the super low bass. Mmm-mm it does something to the tummy.

Thanks to CraCra for a decent explanation of the group, however a little more inside, Tim Foust has helped Chance explore ways to get to some lower notes and make HIS Bass tones much more awesome. This was due to several covers they were doing that Tim sang lead on and Chance needed to be real "bassy" on. Less than a week and Chance had it down, sometimes WAY DOWN !!! BTW need to increase your audio volume some both on the replay and your own mic.
Adam Rupp is the only original member from when he and his brother Chris founded the group. Rob Lundquist (the beard) has been with the group longer than everyone else besides Adam. Tim has been with the group for a long time too. Austin was added to the group later. Adam Chance (just Chance to avoid confusion) joined the group a couple of years ago replacing Chris. Chris decided to go solo so he could spend more time with family, but has done a couple collabs with the boys. I think Chance gives the group a little more versatility by being able to sing the bass lines when Tim takes lead, although he certainly doesn't have the super low stuff that Tim has. I've seen some of their live stuff on UA-cam, and it seems like he doesn't quite have the deep end down right. In recordings, he has multiple takes to get it right, plus they could also be using his lowest notes from early morning recording. I know that's when I sound like Tim sometimes.

Adam Rupp is the only original member from when he and his brother Chris founded the group. Rob Lundquist (the beard) has been with the group longer than everyone else besides Adam. Tim has been with the group for a long time too. Austin was added to the group later. Adam Chance (just Chance to avoid confusion) joined the group a couple of years ago replacing Chris. Chris decided to go solo so he could spend more time with family, but has done a couple collabs with the boys. I think Chance gives the group a little more versatility by being able to sing the bass lines when Tim takes lead, although he certainly doesn't have the super low stuff that Tim has. I've seen some of their live stuff on UA-cam, and it seems like he doesn't quite have the deep end down right. In recordings, he has multiple takes to get it right, plus they could also be using his lowest notes from early morning recording. I know that's when I sound like Tim sometimes.

Up front from left to right Rob is the big guy with the beard he sings second tinner and falsetto, in the middle is Tim he's singing falsetto right now and he's the Bass, Austin sings first tenor, and also sings falsetto! Now the two in the back starting on the left, the beatboxer is Adam, he's magical.
