The Kansas City Chiefs & Philadelphia Eagles are finally set to square off in Super Bowl LVII, as it seems to be the match we’ve all been anticipating for quite some time now. But, with KC rolling into this game with a Patrick Mahomes ankle injury, while even though he has made amazing progress, is still making a lot of people question Andy Reid & the Chiefs ability to win this game. So with this, we might see something from Kansas City vs the Eagles that we’ve rarely seen all year.
So far through the 2023 NFL Playoffs, while Patrick Mahomes has been dealing with this injury essentially the entire time, we’ve seen him take on almost a new identity as a ‘strictly pocket passer quarterback’. And with this, he’s looked almost better than ever focusing in the pocket. And with the Chiefs passing game shifting to a ton of quick routes, targets like Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster, MVS, & Mecole Hardman are still thriving and moving the ball at an amazing rate. But even in the run game, with Isiah Pacheco & Jerick McKinnon, their efficiency has been crazy & will likely continue into Super Bowl LVII vs the Eagles.
And even when considering the Chiefs Defense, while they will have their hands full with one of the best offenses in the NFL this year, with guys like Chris Jones, Frank Clark, Carlos Dunlap, Justin Reid & L’Jarius Snead holding down the secondary, Kansas City might just come as Super Bowl champions if they continue at the pace they’ve played this postseason so far.

I am a Giants fan... honest prediction 19-20 PHI People think it's g0ing to be high scoring in my opinion it's gonna be dominated by D. Philly gonna run it at least 45+ times and pass 20 times. Kansas city will look good at first but mahomes will constantly be pressured and stop moving the ball after the 3rd Quarter they will have a saftey and a field goal aswell.
You see so many holds uncalled anymore what if the D line would just stand straight up don't ingage be mobile ready for the run game if your less engaged the other team cannot hold you would still send your safetys to blitz I see a player held on every play need to try something new

Honestly, I feel good about this game. I know the Eagles have a good defense, but I trust Reid and Mahomes to find ways to score on anyone. I think our defense has their most compete game of the year and the Chiefs are Super Bowl Champs. Let’s go baby!!!!
I’ve been looking into it and eagles have had it pretty easy this year. Like obviously the d is as good as it is but the best qb they have played has been dak. Best offense in general really has been cowboys and I don’t think they are anywhere near the chiefs. Eagles clearly had it easy in the playoffs when chiefs have been playing great teams alllll year long so I think eagles will be surprised while chiefs know what’s coming.

The people who are convinced the Eagles are going to blow out the Chiefs because their pass defense will shut down the Chiefs obviously haven't been paying attention. While the Eagles defense has been dominant against teams with QB's that are average at best, the few really good QB's that the Eagles have played have had no problem moving the ball and scoring on them. While that obviously is no guarantee the Chiefs will hang 40 on them, it IS likely that the #1 passing and overall offense WILL be able to move the ball and score some points against the the Eagles. While the Eagles do have a historically great pass rush, the Chiefs have arguably the best pass blocking line in the league. Mahomes is exceptional at avoiding/neutralizing the pass rush as well. The Eagles WILL get pressure on Mahomes and the WILL sack him, but they aren't going to break and Superbowl records for sacks. 31-27 Chiefs.
Rest my case - Mahomes is the difference maker

35 to 27 Chiefs. Pacheco and Toney are serious X factors that will make the difference with Mahomes and Reid the masterminds on how to utilize them. The Eagles have seen Toney before on the Giants but not in a role with Kelce and the other talented receivers. Pacheco also made some huge yardage runs against the Bengals in addition to setting up the pass. At least one or two breakthroughs to score could be on his list. If Chris Jones dominates the line like he did with the Bengals, it could be a long night for the Eagles. I think Mahomes has been chomping at the bit for his big breakout Superbowl game and this could be it. On the other hand, if he re-aggravates his ankle badly which could be the case with Eagles' pass rush and the game is close at the end, Eagles have the advantage and most likely win but only by a few points.
So basically you're saying that if the opposing team's QB goes down, Philly has the upper hand? That's very astute.
But seriously, it's got to be to KC's advantage to be in a 1-score shootout with Philly in the 4th quarter. If it comes down to JUST passing, Hurts won't have the play fake, and KC's deadly with its ears pinned back. They'll be run-blitzing a fair amount of the time, with their LBs playing downhill most of the day, but late, with 5 or 6 DBs, thinking pass, it's a whole different ballgame, and one the Chiefs are built to win, with their biggest plays on offense and defense, when it's root, hog, or die.
If Philly's the dominant team everybody says, it'll be over in the 3rd quarter, and they'll win pulling away, just grinding KC to dust. I think it's going to come down to how well Hurts can execute the throw against the blitz. KC's played against a lot of QBs who run and throw, like Jackson, Herbert, Allen, Tannehill, and Murray.
The problem with QBs who run a lot is they get beat up. Hurts hasn't thrown as well since hurting his shoulder, but he hasn't had to. 2 more weeks away from the injury may help him. Adrenalin will help. That OLine will help. But if KC dares him to throw to the perimeter, can he? Consistently? Those are low-percentage, and if he gets rushed, one of those rookies might win a few snaps.
KC's gonna take some chances down the field, and try to defeat run and pass in the offensive backfield, by pinning their ears back. They'd rather give up a quick score than let Philly just run over them. And giving Hurts the bum's rush is their best shot at ending drives. And they don't have to end all that many to win, so they're playing pretty loose.
One thing they can't do is line up vanilla and give that OLine choice. That line has to be more worried about what KC's going to do to it than what they're fixing to do to the Chiefs.
Chiefs are really good in the interior OLine. Philly might not be used to that, but they've got DTs to burn in this last game. Still, KC's better inside than they're used to facing.
Chiefs have barely seen Toney in the Chiefs offense 😂😂. Toney been with the Chiefs for 3 months and only have 170 recieving yards
There’s absolutely no reason to believe Chris Jones is going to dominate the Eagles O-Line like he did against the Bengals O Line which was partially composed of back-ups.

With all the backfield pre-snap motion that the Chiefs run hopefully it will confuse the overly aggressive Eagle defense. The Chiefs have been battle tested more, especially the young Chief secondary. Andy Reid & Spags have a lot of Big Game experience.

Nobody has seen Mahomes’s behind the back pass yet. I’m an old timer and remember back in the early 60’s Sonny Jurgensen’s amazing 25 yard pass that he threw behind his back nobody on the D line saw it. Keep your eye on maybe one from Mahomes.
These two team are so evenly matched on paper however the Eagles haven't played a team like the Chiefs all year. I know the Chiefs has played many top teams this year. Does it mean anything I don't know but it makes me question are the Eagles as good as they show out on paper?

I’m going to be a realist and say we don’t have much of a chance. The Eagles are just too good. Every part of their team, besides quarterback, is better. It would take a perfect game by the Chiefs to win. Unfortunately I see a repeat of the Buccaneers game.
Refereeing aside, I see a much more all-around-good Chiefs team. They're more fundamentally sound than the team that won it all 3 years ago. They're a lot bigger and faster at corner. They had to defeat Cincinnati to get to the Big Dance, and Cincy's got a 3-headed beast at WR. KC picked them off, twice, and got to Burrow 5 times, with relentless pressure and coverages that had Burrow confused all game.
People said the same thing before the AFCCG about KC. We'll see. I know they've got some WRs there isn't a lot of film on, in Moore and Toney. I watched some Toney when he signed with KC and if they had better QBs in the Meadowlands, dude was open almost all the time. It's not gonna be the #1 vs the #1. It's gonna be KC's #3s and 4s against their #3s and 4s. It's gonna be misdirection. Both teams are masters of it.
