I stayed at the Iberostar Playa Pilar resort . Playa Pilar beach is fabulous and Media Luna island has some decent snorkeling. Take a boat ride across. When Off the resort take some dollars and Cuban pesos. There is lots to do in this area so enjoy. Nice video .

Hey @johndorian3685! Thrilled that you tuned in! My travel buddy and I explored two resorts in Cayo Coco. We kicked off at Memories Caribe Beach Resort, but it was geared more towards an older crowd-just didn't vibe with us. We opted for a change of scenery, hopped on a double-decker bus for a 30-40 minute ride to Gran Muthu Rainbow Hotel in Cayo Guillermo, and let me tell you, it was a total game-changer! more things to do and closer to better beaches Although, I've gotta be honest, the food at both resorts left a bit to be desired over.
For anyone planning tours in Cuba, my suggestion is to stick to the resort excursions-they're more reliable. I only highly recommend booking the glass-bottom boat tour that departs from Playa Pilar Beach to Cayo Media Luna; you can snag this tour outside the resort, and it's kinder on the wallet.

However, this advice is only specific to this particular tour; for all other tours, book at the hotel with the airline rep. I discovered paying directly at Playa Pilar Beach it's way cheaper. In my video, you'll spot a hut right around the 3:55 - 4:05 mark, that's the spot where you can make your payment. They accept both credit card and cash, so you have flexibility in your payment method. If the time schedule hasn't changed the boat ride leaves at 11:00 AM and the evening one leaves at 4:00PM. This is the only time I'd tell you to book off the resort not sure if the price is the same now but you can book the tour at Playa Pilar Beach

Is there a safe place to leave your things while you are snorkeling? I'm assuming you had brought some cash for tipping, etc. I'm just not sure how that works on the boats.

As for your question about keeping your belongings safe, while snorkeling you can leave them on the boat. Just a heads up, when you reach Cayo Media Luna, you'll need to take your belongings with you since the boat has to turn back to Playa Pilar before returning to you. Enjoy your time there! 🚢🏝️🤿

Imagine how much the fauna is disturbd whith these tourist jumping and screaming ! sound travels far in water....I do not encourage this type of trips 👎👎
Ah, yes, the underwater wildlife are probably hosting their own underwater protest with banners that read 'Marine Rights Matter!' and 'Down with Snorkelers!'
