So happy it was helpful. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time in Italy. I hope the world is a calmer place when you arrive here to study. Good luck!
@Linda María Salinas there’s a group in fb called IMAT ENGLISH MEDICINE ITALY MEDSCHOOL.IT you should join it same I feel like Rome is more expensive compare to other places in Italy . But my first choice university is sapienza
Thank you, Kenya! My daughter is planning to start her full-time undergrad degree at John Cabot Uni, which means she will be in Rome for 4 years. Since apartments in Trastevere where JCU is located are quite pricey and the school residencies even more so, does it make sense to consider less expensive areas that have easy connection to Trastevere? What are those? Thanks!
Hey, thank GOD I just so happened to see this comment. I'm coming to Rome in January for graduate school. Please let me know if you guys find anything and just lmk cause Trastevere is my first choice and I'm having a difficult time-
Great video! I’m planning to study at John Cabot University beginning in August and I want to find an apartment to rent with my mom in the Trastevere area where my school is ( Via della lungara is the exact location I think). I don’t know where to look for and which sites to visit. Please help me!
Thanks for watching! Brief response because I’m responding from my phone, but you can start here and filter to your liking. It may be a bit early to look for August, though, and a lot of properties are offering only short term/monthly leases, hoping for a turn around during the Pandemic so they can start their usual B&B rentals. www.immobiliare.it/affitto-case/roma/trastevere/?criterio=rilevanza Also, if you want my 110% honest opinion....... if the restrictions are still as they are currently, please wait until next year. Socializing is limited to nonexistent these days. It would be a shame to not get the full Italian experience. Even the colosseo and the pantheon are closed right now! Haha! Although I do think it’s a great idea you are bringing your mom! 😉 Just being honest. If you need anything else, let me know!
I am starting my research for moving to Rome in Jan 2022! Your channel seems to be the only one on UA-cam with organised and helpful content regarding information about a move and life in Rome. Kudos to the great effort! A couple of questions: 1. How long ago before moving to Rome should one start looking for an apartment? 2. Since I'd be looking for an apartment, while not being in Italy, and am reluctant to pay before having a look at the apartment(s); should I book an airbnb or a hostel for the immediate stay upon arrival? Any other suggestions? Please advice :) Thanks in advance
A bit late to your comment; but the earlier you can look for a place, the better! I’d suggest renting a B&B or hotel if you can while you are performing your apartment search in person.
Yes, many rules must be followed right now in Italy, and they are always changing. Today, you can't travel between regions or municipalities except for work, health, or other urgent reasons. There is a curfew from 10 pm - 5 am, masks have to be worn at all times (inside and outside), and restaurants can be open 5 am-6 pm Mon-Fri. Still, after 6 pm, you can only takeaway food and not consume it in public. On weekends, restaurants have to be closed. So, if anyone inquires about moving to Italy anytime soon, I suggest that they wait. 😂 It's not worth it with all the restrictions if you haven't been here pre-pandemic. Your social life will be very limited to non-existent.
But I need to have a rented apartment already when I’m applying for study visa and I can’t fly to see and pay. How do I avoid scams? 🥺 or do they make contracts without the payment?
Book an Airbnb apartment short term! Then, when you arrive in Rome, you can do the proper search or choose to stay if you like the apartment! That’s your best bet, so you can see the property in person!
@@NaturallyKenya thank you so so so much for the advice! ❤️ So I suppose in order to actually rent a place I must make all the payments right away? No way to make the payment when I arrive in Rome?
@@susanna.g Well, when you book an Airbnb, the payment will be requested already, but it is a more reliable option until you can see the apartments in Rome with your own eyes! Keep all communication on the website to have the Airbnb Customer Service's support if any issues arise. They never hesitate to issue a refund if an apartment is not as publicized on the website. Make sure to choose an apartment that already has ratings, and I would encourage with a superhost too for the first month. Good luck!
My first apartment in Rome I found through a friend of my Italian friend. I always meant to document the best sites to find an apartment though, so this video is long overdue!
I never comment on videos but my gosh ur content is insane !!! Thank you for all the helpful tips/tricks/information you gem !!!
