Would love to see some videos on those small towns off of 290 between Austin and Houston! I love passing though Manor, Elgin, and Carmine (frozen in time) but I never have time to get out and explore !

😎👍 Will have to visit the Round Top area next year on my Texas trip.
This town is near-completely centered around its periodic giant antique fairs--when the area literally squirms with people in cars. On those weekends it's (literally) bumper-to-bumper on the country roads. A woman in town told us it took her an hour-and-a-half last time to get to work. If you wish to duck the mobs on off weeks it's hit-or-miss what's open. Some places have red-white-and-blue "open" flags waving in the wind but you discover "closed" signs on their doors after you park. We went into Popi Burger in the square for lunch and the waitress and staff ignored us--in fact, from their expressions we were a nuisance for being there. So, we drove to another town to eat. Beware watching this very nice video and thinking that's actually how it is. There must be some nice places to visit and eat in Roundtop but not all visits are good. Apparently you either go with the mob or take a chance on a lot of stuff being closed.

My wife and I set up during the Antique Festival in Warrenton. It was a lot of fun. Met many amazing people.
