I am so glad I found these videos!
My best friend from Texas was from Brenham... name was Bobby Price. He was a disk jockey when we were in High School... I went down to Chappell Hill every summer until I was 18. In fact, Bobby was the one that introduced me to my first wife- but I've forgiven him.
My Papa & Nana had a chicken farm about 3 miles out of Chappell Hill. In fact A lot of my history comes from that area.
My Papa was Post Master in the 1950's. His nickname was 'Mr. Smiley' because he always had a smile for people.
They were members of the Methodist church shown in the video.
I love this area. It is a beautiful area of Texas. I was raised in Iowa, but always considered myself a misplaced Texan. My mother was raised in Galveston and my birth Father was from Victoria. But my Dad was from Iowa so that's where I was raised. He married my Mother after my Father was killed in Germany.
    Thanks for the memories.

So cool. I never get tired of seeing examples of the now rare but once ubiquitous Dog-trot!

Good job! And big kudos for saying the "Birth of American Texas." Accuracy matters, and that recognizes the 300 some years of Spanish and Mexican Texas plus the centuries of Texas Indians who came before.

Lots of wealthy city folks have moved in at Chappell Hill, helping revitalize downtown. My sister is one!!

Was eating Chapell Hill sausage way back in early 70s. Was fantastic small company then.

Idk what it is about your videos. They way you record is simple but it just WORKS. You go from shot to shot with quick facts in between, and it just works. Your videos never have any of those moments you see where it gets boring for a minute, I'm engaged the whole time, and we just flow from one place to another and it's great. I dont wanna sound weird because I rarely ever mention anyone's filming style but your videos are great. They never get dull and they flow. I always look forward to a new video from your channel, even if it's a place Ive already been and seen.

So sad some of the historic Independence bldgs are not open. Not much is done to attract the tourists who would come but my business owner friends in Brenham & Chappell Hill are working on that. PRETTY TREES

Have you ever thought of doing a second account, or even just a sub series focusing just on the state parks?
