I used to think only rich people could have a home theater. Glad I decided to challenge that misconception. I did a video called My Theater Room Has Issues. It certainly is not perfect, but like you said, it’s incredible to come in and watch a movie in your own dedicated space. Appreciate the shout out. You’ve got my contact info when you’re ready

Pro tip: GET MORE CABLE THAN YOU NEED! I made the dumb mistake of measuring from the AV receiver to the speaker placement like the wires were transparent. Now I always double the length I measure I think I am going to need, and this has saved me several times when I decide to move the speaker for cleaning or better placement.

I am just patiently waiting for the finished Krix setup, and I hope you include an installation video too.

Very nice video and thanks for ur honesty on the positives and negatives. I for one went with upgrading and prepping my living room system, i knew that my lil kids would like it a dedicated TH room but the wife would never spend time in there, so to me it seemed like a better option to install a full system in the living room. I have 4 klipsch in ceiling atmos and 5 surrounds and dual monolith subwoofers up front all hooked up to a pioneer elite, along with a 75 inch Vizio tv that has blown me away since upgrading last yr, i also upgraded all the seating so every one gets a comfy spot and the wife seems to love it too because every weekend nights we watch something and shes the one that asks me "so what are we going to watch tonight?". When i have friends and family over we usually end up watching something too, so its perfect for me. Instead i turned my extra room into a gym which was also something i always wanted.

Good stuff, we started with what the builder recommended, then did a classic Best Buy setup, and just this year added built ins, theater chairs, a snack ledge, projector, screen and new wall to close off the space. I’d like to move our in ceiling speakers, move the components into a rack, add some acoustic paneling, maybe paint and do some cool lighting but need to save up for awhile

Good video my friend 👍 I fully agree with you, a home theater is a journey and is continuously improved, sometimes, even a small change like adding a light strip makes a big difference. Keep us updated with your journey! 🖖

I'm approaching my new theater from a different perspective, I'm not building a new house with a dedicated home theater, I'm building a theater with a 3 bedroom dedicated living space;-)

People can save a lot more money in the long run by buying more than their minimum requurements.

Another excellent video Tony. And I definitely agree in the end that if you have the proper space and budget it’s the way to go. I’m a huge music lover and designed mine to be dual purpose theater and music listening space. 90% of the time I’m alone in the room but I’m fine with that

Another suggestion, before changing your speakers, you need to change the heart of your system. You have to go separates, a nice pre-amp with XLR output and a power amplifier. Only changing to Krix speakers without changing your AV receiver won’t make any sound difference. I did that mistake and had to go separate.its just like driving a BMW M3 and using E10 fuel. Lol

One more thing to think of. If you're putting an HDMI in the ceiling for a projector during the build, make sure that it is channeled so that it can be easily replaced. Use a pipe, for example, to easily remove the old HDMI cable and fish a new one through.

Thanks for this video, it was very informative. I plan on building a dedicated home theatre room when my wife and I build our next house. For now I’ve only just finished an upgrade to my lounge room set up. I bought a 65” LG GX OLED along with 3 Monitor Audio CP-CT380IW and 4 Monitor Audio CP-CT380IC and a Yamaha RX-V685 amp, I also upgraded my sub to the REL Acoustic HT/1508 Predator. The amp is only temporary as I want one of the new 8K AVENTAGE coming out later in the year for the PS5. The Krix speakers sound like they might be an avenue I might look at for my home theatre. I only hear good things about them.

I put together my first home theater in 1988. After making upgrades since, I would say a dedicated home theater is well worth it. I’ve blown a crazy amount of money over the years but I don’t regret it at all.
