My father in law has one 2004 he has used as a work truck in Louisiana, 297,000 I just did waterpump and a tune up. Hes got 33 also but with 4.10. Pulls a trailer like no tomorrow. The older Lm7 are one of or the best truck engines ever. I have dogged the ever loving s$it out of the truck I love it . This is from a die hard mustang Owner
They are very reliable engines, especially the non AFM / cylinder deactivation years 99-2005. I think they started using AFM in half ton truck and suv 2006+ maybe 2005+
Ha the instant economy is fun to watch. I’ve averaged 18 - 20mpg if you drive 60- 65 on 2 lane flat roads. But as soon as you hit a hill or go faster than 70 mpg drops.
@monkeywrench3046 Traditional tune where you send in your ECM. Supposedly you can get a hotter tune and it’s customized to your vehicle with the auto cal scan cable tune but that’s a lot more $$$. I’m happy with the traditional tune

@@doctube2020 AFM started in 2007 on the 5.3 engine. It started in 2010 on the 4.8 engine.
Haha you did 8 miles to the gallon 😂😅
And Dayum at 2k rpm you average about 30mpg that’s kinda good for a heavy truck

Was this the traditional tune? Or did you send in data?
