  • The engine newbie wants to share a little information about how an amazing tool on board is produced.. Compressed air!
    Let's check out how these Tanabe air compressors work in my way of imagining things!
    Sorry about the bad drawings! My talents are sadly not in graphical design!😅😅
    If you notice any Information that seems strange or if you would like to add anything, this shrimp of the engine room will be happy to read all comments!
    Success and nothing else seafarers,

    Atlas Copco BT & KT are the best (from the '80), .... cast iron piston compressor or slow speed screw compressor with large and solid oil cooler are still the best and most reliable investment. I don't like 'VSD' because a compressor has to run at a minimum speed to get a good return. - GA 808 and now ??? Best buy is the lowest kw. of a series! (E.g., a type with a 37kw. - 45kw. - 75kw. / best is 'the 37kw') with the 45kw. & 75kw. only the gearing is changed and the compressor element runs at high speed. IPV VSD buy 3 compressors and install in cascade !

    How are we supposed to test LO pressure in air compressor..to make sure high pressure alarm is working

    • @ShrimptoShark
      @ShrimptoShark  3 роки тому +1

      Hey dude, high pressure alarm isn't tested and where I have worked this alarm doesn't exist... THERE IS a low pressure ALARM AND TRIP to protect the compressor from running without lube oil flow and overheating... This is tested by closing the valve to the presostat and verifying the compressor stop.. It will run with oil but the presostat won't sense the pressure anymore and cause the trip.

    Brother me ukrainian 3rd eng now on bulk carrier,thanks you for video now we are workung with this type if compressor. Can you tell me please for what control air to unloader valve? How its working

    • @ShrimptoShark
      @ShrimptoShark  3 роки тому

      Explaining it with words is pretty hard other, I've disassembled many becuase they get dirty and stuck causing loss of compression.. There an underlying problem usually oil in the compressed air that dirties the valve.

    Same type of air compressor ,when hp pressure is around 27bars,it suddenly reduces to 14 and after 10 seconds it increases to 27 again.Pressure drop occurs two times.Does anyone have an idea about this problem?

    • @ShrimptoShark
      @ShrimptoShark  2 роки тому

      If you solved the problem could you update? I would imagine it's the unloder valve activation.

    How about the purpose of relief valve in compressor

    • @ShrimptoShark
      @ShrimptoShark  2 роки тому

      Yeah, in cause for some reason the flow of air gets stuck and pressure rises above the working purpose these valves will open and allow excess pressure to escape to the atmosphere (with very loud noise hahaha). If they don't work you risk damaging gaskets or the line itself!

    Cuantos caballos tiene aprox. y a cuantas rpm funciona?

    • @ShrimptoShark
      @ShrimptoShark  9 місяців тому

      Bueno en referencia a ese compresor lo mediamos a la presión que podía levantar y su caudal posible. (la presión por su tamaño de cilindro lo cual para el aire de arranque de la máquina principal podía levantar hasta 30bar/420psi). Y su caudal variaba dependiendo de cuantos cilindros se instala en paralelo.
