Petrified wood has always been a fave of mine Brun. I have a large gorgeous piece and a few smaller pieces. Been a rock and gem lover since I was young. Happy Australia Weekend! You have a lot of tumbling projects happening. That’s awesome!
G'day Brun.. It's an amazing process.. But by golly it takes a bit.. I am soo impatient... the waiting of weeks would be soo exciting.. And then off it goes again.. Can't wait to see it done.. From just a rock to a 'marvel'.. Great stuff.. 🦘🌸🦘 Happy Australia Day..🌻
5:26 You didn't miss it. I had a similar sampel. I don't know how correct it is, but I thought it was a transformation error where the two plates were moving in opposite directions.🤔 It's really interesting. By the way, next week they will be even more shiny.😍
They are lovely rocks. I have a BIG piece of petrified wood (as opposed to slightly worried or scared!). I found it when I was about 8 years old. And it still has pride of place in my home
Matching your grit to your media I have not heard before, thank you for the suggestion. I must apologize I had no idea you tumbled rocks. Just subbed to you
@@mintycactus1152 hi, thank you. Yes I keep seperate ceramics for use with each grit type, it’s easier and when I get to burnishing stage it all gets cleaned up same. Just makes sense in my storage area. I have sections for each grit type and keep ceramics with each type. I don’t need grit sticking to ceramics etc if it’s not same. Especially for the polishing process. 😀when I polish I use ceramics specifically for polish.
@@mdmelbourne6076 I have a display room and it’s full of interesting things, we sit on the couch with a cuppa and admire it with visitors, I also sell rocks to jewellery craft people and I make ornament things. 🇦🇺
@@danielkarczewski2467 thank you. The tumblers are excellent. They are the Auscut Smooth 3, Double Barrel(3lb) Rotary Tumbler(AS-1.5-2) from the Aussie Sapphire Lapidary Warehouse. I’m on Australia and they have excellent products. Great bearings.
@@danielkarczewski2467 they do ship to USA and they are on the web site. Great company. I have 6 tumblers in total and I get all the grit etc from them. Always get double tumblers that way you can run 2 tumblers on same motor and do 2 different grits etc. I love rocks😀
They only have 230 volt at this time. In the USA we use 110 volt. They the company is working with a company in the USA to make them with 110 volts. Keep rocking LOL
@@MyAlaska12 after hundreds of years wood petrifies and turns rock hard. So it’s actually an organic rock😀it’s interesting to learn it. I’m glad you know some stuff now, it’s cool🙏thanks so much for watching.
