Exterior wise this truck has a very premium look. The finish on the grill reminds me of the finish of those expensive appliances. Like the refrigerator and oven in the kitchen on the set of Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
The platinum is a nice truck but the Limited is better overall with the Raptor HO 3.5L TT with dual rear exhaust giving it the clear win. The Limited drive is that much better because of it and the new interior for the Limited is also a step above, Limited for the win.
I agree. I also have the limited. Only reason to go platinum is so you can have an engine choice or to have a different interior color than the limiteds brown. Otherwise your better off getting the limited for the raptor engine as well as sunroof and other extras.
I have a wife, a 17 year old kid and a 90lbs dog. I am looking to get a pickup truck sometime next year 2020. I have watched your videos to try to see which would fit our needs best. The trouble is most all reviews focus on towing. My situation is a little different. My primary purpose is to haul the family and commute to work daily ( about 60/40 city/freeway) nothing extreme, and only about 50 miles a day round trip). The truck aspect is for the occasional trash haul, or helping someone move, or getting plywood at Home Depot for some project. With all that being said, I want the most comfortable room, best fuel economy, reliability, safety and price. What is your recommendation? Thank you...
Hopefully Ford improved the leather on the steering wheel. I had my 2016 Platinum steering wheel replaced, under warranty, because it wore out at the 12 o clock position. Very disappointed for a 62k truck. Also not happy with glove box fit and finish. Doesn’t close flush. Over all the truck had been great.
Did they fix the manifold pressure problem? The manifold pressure was so high it caused blow by. I had to put 3 quarts of oil in my 2019 5.0. I only had 3000 miles when I discovered the problem. After this, found out there is a TSB regarding this. They hook your truck up and lower the manifold pressure. I wonder how this effects performance (lower compression), drivability, and lastly, is it too late for the motor? I'm hoping the don't dump metal shavings when the reformat the tuner and give me an oil change. I'm going to have them mark the dipstick for a leak down test. What about the oil that's running through my cats? I have a 100k warranty... but damn..I paid 52k for this truck.
Updates? How is your truck now? Anymore issues? Put a Whipple supercharger on that bastard and drive the piss out of it. Beat it like you are renting it for a few days.
I'll take the limited because of the engine (even tho I'm a V8 guy those HO 3.5 Raptor engines can tune up to almost 600hp) and the rims. Along with the dual outlet exhaust. I also like the seating better in the limited. Otherwise. The rest of the interior is the Ford Blahhhh on both models.
If you tune the 3.5 you will void the warranty! I bought the XLT with the 5.0 V8 more than enough power. No sense in racing from stop light to stop light!
The main problem with the new limited is the "limited" payload. A fully loaded limited now has as low as 1000 pounds of payload. Put a couple of big boys and some cargo in it and you dont even have enough payload left to tow a bass boat.
@@Nonya_Business44 true they are. But trailers put anywhere from 7-15 percent of their total weight on the tongue. That in addition to the weight of the hitch has to be subtracted from the payload. A decent size boat (6000-8000 pounds can have a 600 pound payload easily. You buy a truck and you could find out it technically can’t tow you and 3 of your friends to the lake with that 1100 pound payload many of the 1/2 tons have now.
I have a 2015 ford platinum with 51k miles on it .. it looks even better than this one . With some nice 20 inch all terrain tires and a 2 inch lift . Wouldn’t trade it in for a 2020 for sure .
Wash Machine yes it will have you ever tried the 6.2 from the 2011-2014 f150 generation? I heard it’s got a lot of power and torque even more than the 5.0. 5.0 still really good.
if you try the v6 3.5 and how power id It you will never go back to 5.0 v8 by the way there is 5.0 v8 it is option you can choose any engine it is same price
Spray in bedlinner should come automatically with all their trucks at the price their asking and because they went to Aluminum. Come on Ford!!!!!!! What the hell!!!!!
My dad has the limited and grandpa has the platinum. I prefer the platinum because it had more bells and whistles than the limited but I did love the red interior my dad has on his truck! I liked driving the platinum more however and it’s incredibly comfortable to drive and super smooth
What year are you talking about?? This review is for a 2020 and the 2020 Limited is the top of the line, not the Platinum. The Limited has massaging seats and features you cannot order on the Platinum F150. Red seats in a Limited? What year? Not anything recent, I can tell you that.
@@rrhistorian8828 Theirs are just a few years older than the 2020. My dad’s has red leather interior (Limited) and my grandpa’s Platinum definitely has massaging seats as well as the vented/heated feature. They aren’t brand new, but they’re newer trucks
@Brian Waller Why would manufacturers be forced to lower prices ? If you cant afford a new truck at these prices that's your problem . There are used cars lots with vehicles just for you at a price you can afford .
@@BenHardyCars it's very simple. The Limited's always gonna be on the top. Even the 2014 f150 limited I had in my senior year back in 2016 was still top of the line in it's generation. Hahaha, You've lost your damn mind saying it rides smoother than a Raptor. I was shopping a Raptor before buying this truck for the advanced technology package. The Raptor is one of the smoothest vehicles I've ever driven.
I have a 2013 F-150 and have been looking at new ones until I read forums and watched numerous videos here on UA-cam. Excessive Oil consumption, engine/timing chain rattle, 10 speed transmission issues and buckling dash boards to name the major problems. Ford is buying them back or replacing engines... Meanwhile they continue to sell like hotcakes. Shame on you Ford! You're selling us very expensive garbage and in some cases dealers are telling people that engine clatter is "NORMAL". My favorite pickup truck! Good video Ben.
I love the seats how they feel. Very comfortable.
thats a 2019
That silver would look nice with the Red Marsala leather interior
I have a limited now. Only read to go with a platinum is getting the 5.0 and adding a whipped and having 700+ hp. But I do love my limited interior

Raptors only
Can the remote start function be disabled?
Scott yes you can turn it back off
Ben Hardy
Awesome, thanks!
Why is it so hard to find a V-8 Ford Truck?
I rukandji it’s actually pretty rare to find a platinum or limited that is running a coyote engine.
