At first I was unsure about dismantling the corridor. I, too, loved the traditional Japanese aspects of it. But it's so incredibly beautiful open like that. Ichi called it right. Well done. Many God's blessings to you both.
I found your channel through Tokyo llama, and now I’ve binged all your videos. It’s so calming to watch and I love seeing your little interactions and progress with the project. Can’t wait for future episodes!
Having forward thinking vision is a gift I don't possess. Clearly it was the correct decision to remove those green panels to open up the space. And Laura, I don't suppose you have a hi res photo of the painting? It's fantastic and truly a unique piece of art work. I'd love to print it off and mount it in my workshop. See you in EP 15. Ichiさんのドラゴンアートブックは素晴らしいですね。
I can see it was a huge challenge for you, Laura! Well done for facing it! You're so brave! You guys are hard worker! Congrats for every step you've done! Wishing you all the best! xx
Good progress! Just reconfirm that you are supposed to leave on the plastic covering on your insulation that you added to your roof. There is heating/cooling + condensation considerations in other parts of the world (if you look up vapor barrier you will find more info)
The Internal roof is so beautiful with those exposed timber beam why not open all of ceiling at Kitchen, dining & living so that you can get a high ceiling & not Claustrophobia
I would love to see it from everywhere but it's so cold in winter that it would be like sitting outside. It can get down to in the minus degrees c. We need the insulation. And if we built a new ceiling above some of the beams, which would look great, it would be a little bit too much work for us right now.
@@KonnichiwaChannel1 Sure you much have insulation but you can install it just below the batten but if it's too much work at present & over your budget then do it the next time keep up the good works.

When I saw how amazing it looked after I felt a bit silly for pushing back against it so much for so long!
Kudos to you Laura for overcoming your fear through necessity. Well done.
Thanks Brendan. I'm never going up again though! 😅
I'm like you, I would also miss that lovely corridor! But the openness is definitely nice.

Paul I don't have a good picture of it but next time someone (not me) goes up onto the roof I'll ask them to take one.
Very kind of you but please don't go to any trouble 🐢
Good job! You are braver than me. I am also scared of heights.
It was height and then the fact that every time I moved I heard a cracking sound! I thought I was going to fall through. Never again!
It's really fun to hear your voices sped up
😂 yes that made me laugh too Taylor!
Awesome job guys! Hope all still going well
Thanks Jan. It's going well but a bit slow. We will get there eventually.
