i love hearing your experiences with psychosis and especially being a young adult or teenager with psychosis. Mine was creeping up on me as a kid but broke out my freshman year and started peaking about senior year and got diagnosed with schizoaffective on my 18th this year and i just graduated and actually am in the hospital for mania (its manifested into some sort of psychosis) typing this right now 😭.It helps to know that i wasnt alone in having the worst highschool experience known to man because it really was chalked up to the best years of my life as a kid and i felt like i was missing something. I hope it gets better because im really struggling rn :(
@@xxhollowheartsxx_ptv1351 I really hope it gets better too! And honestly it got hyped up to me as the best years of my life too but I think if high school was the best that would suck. There’s so much more to life & if high school wasn’t the best for you then when the best comes it’s gonna be better than anything you can imagine.
I cannot imagine going through psychosis in high school. It was hard enough dealing with it in college. I'm sorry you had to experience it. Glad you came out the other side. You're right high school is hard enough without complex mental illness. Great video as always 👍
@@NavigatingthePeriphery aw thanks! I think no matter what school it is, it’s hard. I struggled a little in college too and dropped out during the prodromal phase of an episode.
@@raydon6643 I don’t blame you! I peed on the floor cuz I didn’t know what a toilet was. There’s no shame in these things. In that kinda mental state, anything goes.
thank you so much for making this video! i’m a high school student also living in seattle, i don’t experience psychosis, but this is very helpful to me in understanding people i know who do 💗
Always love your videos Carolynn! This one especially, as a person who has now been dealing with psychosis for just a whole year now, onset at 18, I am now 19. After one hospitalization and still having awareness around my psychosis has made for an interesting and very long process in terms of finding a potential diagnosis. I wouldn’t wish it upon anybody. I am still finding ways and working with my supports to navigate it. Thank you for bringing awareness to this specific topic!:)
@@Kammo.222 oh wow I’m so sorry to hear it’s been so long! You’re definitely a fighter that’s for sure. I hope your journey leads you towards more peace and stability. It takes guts to go through what you’re going through!
Thank you for making this, I could seriously listen to you all day.
@@gerberdaisies aw thanks! I’m glad you like it.

@@raydon6643 no problem, it helps me feel less alone to hear you say that, too.
