    i bought the zeiss 35mm distagon 2.0 zf.2 (uesd in mint cond) based on your recommendation to accompany my d750, also from your recommendation. as a novice, i only know this level of lens and fear am gonna get a lil spoiled from such exceptional quality producing amazing lenses.
    cheers!

    Loving the improved audio production value in all the recent vids, Ken. Don't listen to the people who think that the echo chamber was better. And thanks for re-mentioning the f/2. That's my next one of your recommendations after I get the 80-200.

    This ZF 35mm f2 is the best lens I have ever used. Much sharper than the 35mm f1.4. I’m getting the entire distagon set now.

    Hello sir, I m considering between the zf/ze version and the old contax distagon 35/1.4. May you give some advice?

    Sounds like a good lens and I would be curious to try it.

    i bought the f1.4 because the store didn't have anymore f2 versions. Very very happy with it (I got it based on your recommendation) and not to brag I paid right at $1k for it. I got really lucky and couldn't believe I was getting it at that price. LOL I was so skeptical that I took a pic of the receipt and sent it to you Ken just for confirmation. Thanks again for your invaluable advice STAY ANGRY!!!

      @@KenTheoriaApophasis PTS? Sadness? Я как раз этот вопрос всю жизнь решаю с помощью коллекционирования винила, high-end sound system, own concert recordings in DSD format и, конечно, женской компании... Но в 66 стало с женщинами сложнее, зато с сознанием, мотивацией и просто lust for life стало обстоять лучше!
      С удовольствием готов поддержать твой тонус если надо. Могу поделиться музыкальной коллекцией - native DSD128 recordings if you like music and have a decent DAC and high-end headphones... Like Sennheiser HD 600 или даже Stax... Я сидел два года за попытку перехода границы в 70 году - Isle of Wight festival had to be attended - и музыка меня всю жизнь поддерживала... А сейчас тем более... У меня над монитором на рабочем столе висят Quad ESL 57s... Сказка если есть желание на Linn LP12 пластинку поставить...

    What about Zeiss Milvus 35mm f/2 ZF.2 ? Does it have simillar optical design as the discontinued distagon f/2 ?

Asahi SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4...
    Так что пока буду наслаждаться Zeiss оптикой... Сделаю скоро тест Distagon'а с Takumar и с Helios 58mm f2 - очень качественные объективы оба.

    No, Zeiss lenses have not increased in price. They’re half what they were new. I own 8.

    Hello, Ken and also the other fellas, I am Fuji enthusiast and I am carefully planning my gear. I am more into artistic and B & W minimalistic photography and I would like to add to my arsenal for that an around 50mm effective FL prime lens with superb micro contrast and amazing rendering such as the Zeiss 35mm Distagon 2.0 zf.2. Unfortunately I am not sure if it is adaptable to the Fuji x mount, I was considering also the bigger brother with 35mm F1.4 with M-mount Leica, since Leica design is most similar to Fuji. What is your take on that, should I go for some other third party option or the 35mm 1.4 Fuji? I am not bokke freak and the autofocus is not a bonus for me, since it is electronics and tends to break and I prefer to have better control on the focusing and for that particular focal length I want to invest in some everlasting beauty which I can use lifelong with enjoyment. Best, Kamen

    Ken, how about the distagon 1.4 ZM version to be adapted for fuji ? The zm version is small, a little bigger than the VM 35 1.7. Any thoughts?

    random question: what do you think of old pentax 35mm glass? I think they're pretty much up there with nikons glass at the time. Would be interesting to know what you think about a lot of legacy glass, say from olympus too. Cheers for the videos

    I love your video posts. Thanks for doing them. I investigated 35 mm lenses and I'm curious why you prefer the Zeiss Dista. Over the sigma art....the DXO Marks are higher for the Sigma. What are your thoughts on DXO

    How does this Zeiss compare to the Leica 35mm F1.4 Aspherical?

    • @whitebuffalo4904
      @whitebuffalo4904 5 років тому

      The Zeiss, despite being significantly cheaper, outperforms the Leica Summilux 35mm f/1.4 FLE in every way. The only area that's a tossup is the bokeh, which is highly subjective anyways. I was set on the Leica, but after viewing all the reviews and images of the Zeiss, I'm absolutely sold and will be purchasing the ZM 35 1.4 soon. That particular Leica by the way is plagued with various issues (just read up on it on the L-forum), which surprised me considering the price. General consensus is the build is not up to par with other M-lenses for some reason.

    I scooped a 35/f2 zf-i for 500$ yesterday. did some research, it has the screws and is more weatherproof. lucky relic lens find.prolly for life. :)thank you for your vids. My kit consists of that, a 50mm 1.4 non ai i got from an old friend of mine from the flea market and extra of his favorite. sweet for portraits and art studio captures. Got a 35, f2 non ai too for cheap. was originally thinking of making an old ai mf set all adapted for my sony( have speed booster and dummy). Then I have rokinon 12mm f2 mf which I love. night time exploration , grime, graff, buildings, street, lens. Was thinking of a fast ,sharp wide around 20 to complete my set, maybe unnecessary, maybe if i could find a good deal on either the distagon for f or an ai. been interesting and addictiong exploring old lens culture. way more an analog fan from mirrorless. Timeless gem armaments for life. Rant. Don't mean to go to deep in the materialism of it all, photography is not my trade, But these are still my tools. thanks again.

    hi Ken. You have never mentioned how this lens (35 f 2) performs on your XT2 with a Metabones REDUCER, bringing it back closer to its 35mm field of view. Pleass comment. Thanks

    The Zeiss 35mm f/2 is *very* nice. I would like to know how you think the Tamron 35mm SP f/1.8 compares to it in IQ terms. I'm wondering what one gives up in the Zeiss to gain AF.
    I already own the Zeiss and I really do like it a lot. It would be welded to my camera if it had AF....

    • @KenTheoriaApophasis
      @KenTheoriaApophasis  8 років тому

      +LEVLHED forgetting AF, nothing touches the Zeiss, its in orbit. :)
      qualifying the tamron 35mm against it takes time i dont have tonight in my sickened state, its softer and dreamier and has better bokeh and other attributes
      i have the 45mm tamron, same beast , but 45.
