@@ethanennis8 The only reason the GOAT doesn't have an gold medal under his resume was by choice- he stood his ground & boycotted the 1968 Olympics in protest of the ongoing racism against Black Americans in his home country.
Kareem is arguably the best big man to ever grace the sport. He def may be the best player of all time as well. He changed the game and made such an impact. His skyhook shot will be the most iconic in the game. He was so great and good at this sport it's no wonder why he was accomplished as he was and made records and accolades in mvps, championships, all star appearances, and lead the league to this day in scoring. THE BEST CENTER OF ALL TIME!!! Of course there have been other good centers, but noone is like the Master of the "SKYHOOK"! Love you Kareem, you are such a great person in many ways and you will always be The Best! For ever LakersNation with my favourite Center of all time!!!!!!!

My second reason for being a lakers fan beside magic and big game James and to this day no player of today's times can never do the legendary skyhook like he can.
When you check all of his stats from high school, college, and the NBA; he is the G.O.A.T. Of all of the points that he scored in the NBA, he only made two 3pointers.

A reminder to the younger fans out there: Kareem was responsible for the NCAA banning dunking. That sounds unbelievable, but look it up. That's how dominant he was.
Absolutely! When the GOAT came to UCLA from the east coast, the NCAA decided that this thing we've been doing of allowing dunking- well, we don't do that anymore. All they was doing was allowing him to do what he'd started doing already at Power Memorial - work on other aspects of his game. Since freshman were not allowed to play on the varsity squad, the Bruins became known that year as the Best team in the nation- who couldn't beat their team's freshman squad.
@@hayh6161 There are quite a lot of arguments pro Kareem! Continued Excellence over time! Kareems professional career spanned the same time frame as Jordans, without missing five years due to 'rest'. In his next to last season, he was still the go-to guy in the final minutes of the NBA finals! For Michael to be successful his team had to be assembeld in a very specific way around him (starting with a certain Scottie! No one talks about what a true jerk he was never liked him he had a nasty attitude. I do not deny his talent but Wilt was a man with class Kareem was a kid that never grew up and liked to elbow people in the face and was a racist big time.
I thought There will never be class act centers like Russell, Kareem and Wilt..until i seen Wemby. He's continuing the lineage... Kareem is severely underrated and disrespected..which is crazy. Him and Russell are the greatest winners in basketball history
Wilt said Jabbar was weak. Didn't want to work on defense and rebounding. All he had was that hook shot. Which Wilt as an old man, swatted numerous times. A 7'3" man that couldn't rebound or play solid defense. His teammates did all the work so Jabbar could shoot. I'd take Wilt over Jabbar any day.
@@ct81 I watched Wilt swat Kareem multiple times. So you're calling me a liar, I guess. I saw them play head to head on several occasions. So I can honestly say, you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
@@ct81 How old are you? I watched both the 70- 71 season when Milwaukee won the title over the Bullets. I watched the next season when the Lakers set the 33 game win streak and beat the Knicks in the finals in 5. I saw Wilt in 68 when the Sixers won the title. I wonder, did you see any of that?
@@ct81 By the way, I also watched the finals, I believe in 74 when a 6'8" Dave Cowens wore Jabbar out and Boston beat Milwaukee. A 6'8" post player wore Jabbar like a new pair of shoes. Also saw a 6'10" Moses Malone use Jabbar like a child in 83. A Sixers sweep of the Lakers.
@@ct81 Alcinder, Jabbar, whichever, I've noticed you have all kinds of excuses for him. He was God wasn't he. Not in my book. I thought he was weak. And what about Malone using him up in 83, I think I overlooked your excuses for that one.
@@ct81 I don't like Jabbar because he didn't do as much as he should have as a 7'3" player. Two full inches taller than Wilt but 1/3 the rebounder and 1/6 the defender. He could score but that's about it. You mentioned Wilt needed help to guard him, you neglected to mention Wilt was at the end of his career at the time. In his prime Jabbar would have been seriously embarrassed. I also think that all Jabbar could really do is shoot and it took him 20yrs. to break a record Wilt basically set in 7. The all time scoring mark. In 68 up untill the end of his career, Wilt finally had good players around him so he did other things besides score. Like play defense and rebound, and became the only center ever to lead the league in total assists in a season. Something the 7'3" shooter couldn't dream of. In my opinion Jabbar was an underachiever. He was weak and lazy. There you have it.
