I'm looking at doing this but on a switch. I want to be able to have to ignition systems in case one fails. I have the mechanical fuel pump as well and have a switch to kick on an electric fuel pump as well. I believe in redundancy for my bug-out vehicle which is also my home. I've got a 1979 Dodge B300 van. Thank you for sharing videos on your conversion.
@@matthewgreen8335 Good ideas and you have me thinking. I have a new dizzy, new harness, new blue 7,500 brain box. I can't believe how long it took for Dodge to ditch the balast. It was only needed for points. My RC is my bugout.
in fact, you could be using the standard coil (even the ones provided for ignition with points) and the system would work as well. I've installed HEI modules with the stock coil with no claims at the date. greetings!
CH04 Dizzy Pertronix 60103 E-coil Pertronix Flame thrower 3 HEI Designed2drive adapter plate Wires of your choice Plugs to match your induction Other than the dizzy there are really no further upgrades needed. The Pertronix flame thrower 3 has a rev limiting feature you can program. There I did the leg work.

You're very welcome. The way i have mine setup is plug and play. If one system fails i can unplug and replug into the original harness.

So im assuming all that costs less than 100 dollars? Otherwise you just listed a fortune in parts...
Why is my ground wire from the module to the battery getting hot and melting wire ? Truck won’t start and wire gets hot.
Sounds like you have power going to it from to high an amp source. Either that or you have the wires crossed?

You could actually use the four pin Chrysler unit to replace the five pin unit.
True. But i was running into power issues with it and opted for a simpler approach lol.
So you dont need to change the distributor? you can still use the stock "lean burn" one?
Yes
Ok. Enough. Talk. ! Hook..it. Up..!!
