Corbin was proud to elevate talent. He wanted to be a legend as an enhancement guy. You don't get a lot of guys with his level of skill who want that role. Bad decision letting him go
I really think this is going to be another example of letting someone go for them to have an even better return later. Corbin is still really young. He will be back. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he showed up in TNA and totally destroys it there
Drew deserves the time off, he had the best feud of 2024 and got his head split open. It is sad to hear he is dealing with some personal family issues, but this is a new WWE that cares. He'll be back when he's ready and continues to be a highlight. Right now best wishes to him and his family. If Netflix wants Roman, Cody, and Punk on RAW there is going to have to be a massive roster change. Awesome Kong is one of the greatest women's wrestlers of all time, and she never once held a title in the WWE or AEW. Had events been different both times, that could be a different story. Still, she is a one-of-a-kind talent, helped put TNA Knockout's Division on the map, and deserved to be praised.
and while it may be a bit unfortunate, and ifeel the same way about any unfortuate injury or time off, it benefits other people in the interm who then NEED to step up and fill the gaps

@@lukemcdonnell1503 I actually see the OP point. Its the same end result, but one is like being fired, and the other is like a company not picking up their contract workers contract because the project they are working on is ending.
@@TreegAmsta I actually feel sorry for Corbin if he was released he'd probably get a bit of pay out, but because his contract has ended he won't get anything. Hopefully AEW picks him up. I don't think he will ever be a main event star but he's pretty decent
Drew and Punk made Hell in The Cell mean something again, they turned it from just another gimmick match into a dangerous and career-threatening match. Now we just have to hope the WWE keeps it that way.
Sorry but most of the Jey Uso stuff at Crown Jewel made no sense after what happened on SmackDown , they'd already had Roman yeeting and the 3 of them posing holding the 1's up as a unit and walking out together , then during Crown Jewel they made it come across like Jey and Roman hated each other still , was like they'd completely forgot what they'd prerecorded the week before
I think Saudi wanted Roman and this was the best way they could manage. They could have drawn out the tension between Jay and Roman much longer. Feels rushed now.
@QAZ-OMEN they're rushing things together for Survivor series cuz I guarantee you it's going to be war games OG bloodline vs bloodline 2.0 Roman Reigns the Usos and Sami Zayn vs Solo Skoa the Tongans and Jacob Fatu
I genuinely loved Baron Corbin. No matter what they threw at him he made the most of it. He strikes me as someone who will do really well in a place like TNA. Future TNA world champion maybe?
Saying someone in boring to you doesn’t mean you don’t understand it lol. Just because he’s doing his job, doesn’t mean everyone has to think he’s enjoyable while doing it. Using the ball comparison, it’s like saying “if you find role players boring, you aren’t a real fan” which is equally laughable lol.
I don't think I've heard anyone say a bad thing about Kong in the almost 20 years I've followed her. Hell yeah I'd pay her longer. Consider it restitution for Hogan not seeing the value in her over Bubba the Love Sponge.
Drew is out like Punk, they want to make the Hell in a Cell a serious thing so it wouldnt have made sense to have Drew the next Monday to start a new feud like nothing happened
I'm not a huge Corbin fan, but I have enjoyed his work. I haven't seen all his work, I wasn't watching for a few years, but I think he's good enough to be in the upper midcard if not the lower Uppercard.
I really enjoyed GLOW and Awesome Kong was a big part of it looking so authentic. It seemed like everyone involved wanted to do a good job of the history of the subject. Shame it got axed, definitely too early!
Tony thinks this guy is getting *cheered* at Full Gear? I don't think they'll cheer QT, who got "go away" heat the last time he was there; I think they'll utterly SHIT on the match. Costco AJ wasn't a great worker by any means, and he hasn't wrestled in years...
I would love when Drew returns to cut a promo where he says Drew Mcintyre is dead and rose from the ashes is Drew F**king Galloway (drops the mic and his old icw music wish it away plays)
Say what you want about a e w but one thing for sure they always take care of their wrestlers no matter what which is something you don't really hear about WWE doing even when they let their wrestlers go AEW still take care of them if they're not wrestling and even if they're not on a contract
Corbin is boring. He once had an aura and a look...but too many years of making him a comedy heel has ruined. that. Yeah he's good at helping people get over, but a guy THAT big and strong being jobbed out so much makes him look like someone's dad being beat up in the ring. And no, his finisher ISN'T that interesting. I can see why the WC people like him because they enjoy the silliness and comedy and when the show isn't serious...but that's Corbin's problem too. We can't take him seriously anymore, so why should we care? Wrestling IS a show, which means to make it work the people IN the show have to act as though it is a serious business. Corbin is no longer that. Let him go and reinvent himself, get away from the Baron Corbin character and change, so he can be interesting again.
It would be insanely cool if the whole Baron Corbin thing is a work to return him at the Netflix debut with some major momentum, maybe feud with Bron in a friend vs friend match. After all, you can't fool Marks unless there is some realism these days - and releasing him then secretly resigning him back would be crazy. Or he could be AEW bound, as most WWE guys end up doing after being released.
I disagree about Tegan Knox, you said it yourself come back injury. Come back injury. Come back injury. At some point, you run out of chances to come back! How many chances does she need… A million? Should they resign her and give her a million more afterwards? The treatment of Baron Corbin has been horrendous since Mc Mahon administration. Indi Hartwell’s release does not make any sense to me. As she’s being used regularly. She’s also very attractive, which should make for pleasant viewing when watching her wrestle. The only thing I could think of, maybe she hasn’t excelled enough to stick around. Releases happen, go to AEW and get way overpaid, and get lost in the shuffle there… and then the IWC to go crazy over that, but more than likely ignore it… they only seem to go after the WWE when they make moves!
Corbin was proud to elevate talent. He wanted to be a legend as an enhancement guy. You don't get a lot of guys with his level of skill who want that role. Bad decision letting him go
WWE dropped the ball and whoever picks him up will only improve thier younger stars with him guiding them and pushing them higher up

WWE not resigning Corbin could be because they are trying to work out trainer's deal or backstage roll. Thats what he wants

Wait until he returns and dethrones Cody 😂
Honestly im down for that last person to pin Cody 1 on 1and his character is top tier
I agree. Drew would be the perfect heel to do that, so long as its not a vehicle to put the belt back on Roman two months later.
