  • In this video I experiment by using all of the tiny scraps of collage paper left over from my previous mixed media abstract art and use it to make two new collages. My creative process is explained from start to finish. Materials used: small bits of scrap paper and gloss medium.

Lovely as always Jackie & laughed out loud @ the cough drop wrapper :) Me too though for me it's usually saving things I can use for texture on the gel plate (now boxes of them) -- if more people made collage the world would be a happier, safer, saner place -- we do our little part :)

I've collaged my gum wrappers, foil candy wrappers, grocery and library receipts among other things. It's all fair game, and we keep it out of a landfill.

Dear Jackie, I always enjoy watching you make art. For a long time I was looking for an artist on You Tube who mainly works with collages. I finally got to you.
Thank you for this great video. I can't throw away scraps either, and I'm always looking for ways to use this artistically. By the way, I love the music you chose. It puts you in a good mood and goes perfectly with your video. KInd regards Conny

oh my god i understand your issues with throwing out any kind of interesting paper. it's such a problem. i think my partner also thinks i'm crazy half the time, but mine also has begun offering me things like onion bags or junk mail. it feels like love when they get it hahah. like maybe they don't fully know what we're doing in the lab but they offer us little pebbles for our masterpieces and it's so sweet.

Ha! You’re so right - when my husband asks me about grocery packaging before he recycles it, I feel seen 😂❤️

Hi, this is the first of your videos I've watched. As I'm currently busy purging all the junk journal material I have collected this is how I handle a cough drop wrapper. Use it right away (because I have a current project that it fits) otherwise remember that there are more where this came from (if 3 days after I threw it away I get an inspiration on how to use it). When I have too much stuff I spend too much time organizing and not enough creating. I decided to subscribe. I really enjoyed your video and would love to help you reach your 10,000 subscriber goal. I'm sure I will be watching some of your older videos as well.

Hi! Thanks so much for watching! lol I love your cough drop wrapper logic - totally rational. I'm not sure my collage hoarding is quite as rational - sometimes everything feels like potential. 😂❤️❤️❤️

I think the best treatment for the creative illness is a prescription for art supplies 😆😆😆

Thank you so much for sharing - I don’t know why I love collage, it found me whilst I was art journaling, I hate mess and yet I find myself hoarding collage fodder, and even though I have plenty, I actively look for more. There is something so satisfying in weaving our treasures into art. I love watching your process

There is just something wonderful about it, isn’t there? ☺️ My studio would be so much tidier if I tossed out all my scraps, but the odds of that actually happening are slim to none 😂😂😂

Little jewel. How long does it take to get quicker than a whole day to chose the piece?
