Hii im interested in figure scating but i dont have ice rinks anywhere near me in summer, so would it be enough to practice in roller skates and of ice in summer?

I play inline hockey, and all i can say is, wow! Some of the stuff she does i can't even do!
I can relate, sitting with the 2nd broken wrist in a month but seeing how much more courage i got since i started rollerblading and how much better i am now 😊

🥺Your video showed me why my dad kept buying me in line skates when I was younger. I asked why and told him I didn't like them so many times before he stopped. I did amazing ice skating and maybe he was trying to give me another option or he didnt know I could ice skate so well yet as he wasn't at the rink with me. Can't quite remember as it was so long ago but I broke every pair of in line skates within a few tries and would give up after that. Wish I had truly learned because this looks so elegant and therapeutic. You're gracefully skating on a rough surface and that's art and incredible balance.

i’ve always wanted to figure (ice) skate and this seems like a much more affordable and versatile alternative, now i just have to scrape up the motivation to give it a try lol! you’re amazing though, i can’t imagine how much strength and training this takes
Oh Lily! I grew up on ice skates! I grew up in Michigan, so we learned how to skate at birth basically, and I learned how to rollerskate shortly there after! Girl, I feel every single one of those hits you took!! Your skating is impressive, but I remember taking so many of those tumbles. Oh my gosh I’m surprised I have teeth in my head.

How long did this progress take?
Right
I believe about 3-4 years. She started in around 2020 during covid (as a hobby because everything was on lock down except outdoor activity). Also, she was a trained figure skater before trying rollerblading.
So the average person would take probably double that, to reach her level, basically would take you 6-7 years. Plus, average person teaching themselves to skate is not ever going to be able to do the axels and spins you are seeing her do here. That’s learnt from her trained ice skating background.

hi! those are inline figure skates! they're made up of a regular figure skating boot and an inline figure skating frame. good boot manufacturers are edea, risport, riedell and jackson ultima (there are more, but these are the most well known). there are also different options for frames: pic skate, snow white, golden horse (gh skates) and jackson ultima's mirage frame, to name a few. do a lot of research before you buy, and get your boots fitted at a figure skating store if you can! best of luck with this beautiful sport:)
Im a big fan of blades over skates. They seem easier to guide and balance on! Also you can do tricks or jumps. Great speed aswell,❤

btw y’all this is roller blading, u can tell by the difference in shoes, roller skating has the rolls on the four sides, roller blading is the four rolls in the middle !

I was in my cousins rollerskates and i fell backwards not watching a tutor before knowing how too hold urself well i fell 2 times and my buttocks hurts and i told my mum and she wont let me play rollerskates ever again😭

Do you have to know how to dance already to learn tricks? I want to get into this recreationally to get fresh air and right now I’m trying to figure out whether I want skates or blades. The towns I’m around have rough roads, lots of slight hills/inclines on a path, and no roller rinks.
