Love your fish room and all of the updates. Great breeding techniques. All of your aquariums are very clean and everything looks so organized. Can’t wait for your next update.
And finally I got some fry a couple of days ago. The single male survived. They are cool fish. I will also have them soon in one of the aquascapes so there will be much better shots of them.
Thanks for the update. Things are looking good, and ofcourse I was particularly interested in the Pygmy Corydoras. I did a bit of maintenance of my UNS 45U yesterday, and released the single juvenile (and previously sick) Pygmy into the wild. He/she bumbled about for a bit, but soon found his/her parents. I was slightly concerned about the number of adult Pygmys, because I only ever saw 4 or 5. Luckily, because I trimmed a lot of plants, all 8 of them (I knew I had lost 2 beforehand) soon started hovering like helicopters, together with the young one. I mentioned a 2nd juvenile earlier, but I guess that one didn't make it. This video gave me an idea to do a breeding attempt with them before I move them to a new home, later this year. Thanks again!
You should definitely try breading them. They are so tiny and they just love being kept together in big numbers. I sold 20 of them yesterday and 10 will be sold next week.
This is so interesting! I genuinely had no idea that all of this was going on behind the scenes of my local fish store 😂 I’m so happy that things are going well for you!
Yes I would assume all of that is going behind the scene at LFS but I am not sure if they are doing the breeding part. Unfortunately I don't have a LFS near me so I don't have a clue what happens there haha
@@IMaqua Looking forward to it. I almost thought this was going to be it when I saw the thumbnail. Funnily, Fish Room Tour videos seem to get a lot of views on UA-cam so I think you will do well. Maybe a master Breeder fish room tour title?
wooow I'm inspired by this.... been wanting to do this breeding for profit for a while... it can help pay some of the tank hobby expenses lol... so I finally did it and I got three 10 gallon tanks but I'm limited to 3 tanks for now. currently i'm trying to decide what i should breed and sell since I have to be very selective because I only have 3 tanks to work with
Not much you can do with that aquarium size, maybe shrimps. Neocaridina. Every fish species I have changes 3 to 4 aquariums (containers) before I add it to the final adult aquarium (sellable size). You need to a lot of space, aquariums and most of all time for it to be profitable. If you wanna do it just as a hobby then it is fine; because you are in no rush to breed or sell. I will do a full fish room tour soon where I will show and talk about all the tanks.
@IMaqua yeah neocaridina shrimp is one of the ideas I thought of... thought of doing blue dream, bloody mary and a cull tank I saw some of your videos seeing some tanks that are less than 10gals doing breeding. So I assumed those less than 10gals are just temporary growing out tanks until you move them to a bigger tank?... what is the final adult size aquarium ?
I have different breeding aquariums. Ranging from 10, 7 and all the way down to 4 gallon tanks. They are only breeding tanks and I usually pull out the eggs and leave the parents in the breeding aquarium. After that I have small grow out containers plus Fluval hang on breeder boxes. When the fry is big enough I move them to a small fry grow out aquarium (7 gallon). I will explain everything in my fish room tour video where I will talk about all these things.

I just started filming clips for a full fish room tour. It's gonna be a long long video maybe 45min or even an hour.

Unfortunately I don't have that title yet but I will definitely need to think of a catchy title.
Your doing amazing job with breeding and raising your fry. Thanks for sharing
