Thank you for making this video. The knowledge you have given is going to be a great help for me continuing to build my business. I would love to connect with you...
I hate every person that disliked this video. This guy is spending his time to help other people who are trying to start a business, and for whatever reason people hits the unlike button. Majority of the people who are already very successfully won't even make a video like this because either they're too busy or just don't want to have any more competition and keep there knowledge from everyone else and just wants to tell people to believe in yourself, you can do it. Hard work pays. But people clearly can't appreciate it when someone actually spend there time to help others. The people in this world is dumb. I swear. And props to the people who didn't dislike this guys video.
As He should why not make money helping Ppl do what hes already labored thru...Listen some videos are hours long and are repetitive in words never really getting to the point and leave u feeling like your in way over your head like y even try. Hes sharing so much of the foot work that will at least get u motivated to get started in 20 mins! Thank God for u brother!
MY FRIEND, they those 115 haters are the ones that never want to see other people who can start a business and be successful like them. Those are call Jealousy, bro! No surprise.

John Santos hi! Thank you so much for your video!! It is so helpfup! ❤ I am actually just looking around and trying to get information because my 10 year old daughter wants to start her own line. However, I still lack information on how to even get a label on a shirt. What equipment she will need. Estimate on price. Etc. Do you have a video showing something like that? Thank you for your time. God bless you. ❤
Get an LLC and structure it as an S-Corp. Do NOT get a DBA. As soon as your business starts to take off, converting to a professional level entity from a DBA is a headache - easily avoided if done right from the get go. Work a week, get a paycheck and get an LLC. He also failed to mention setting up a professional business phone line (NOT a cell phone). The phone MUST be dedicated to the business only. List it with directories. Get listed with D&B... Get your Business credit up - Business credit can go from zero to over a hundred thousand available in a year or less - HUGE starting and growth capital advantage... Nice tips for a quick way to barely get by - if you're okay with that. If you want to grow and become something big. There's a bit more to it than this video teaches. Business credit is your lifeblood - not personal credit. Learn to build it, use it, and please do your research. Eventually, you could easily hit 300K, 500K 1M+ in available business credit. That is the kind of money that launches major brands and takes you from a local neighborhood clothing line to a full blown cross country /world wide brand. Your choice. Do what you want.
+Joseph Baker great info on building the credit side to the business. Unfortunately too many people run into roadblocks and reasons not to move forward with their idea. This video was to help propel them and get them started.
+Joseph Baker Good stuff man. I really need to sit down, and focus on the whole tax/legal side of things. I have a pretty good grasp on the whole structure/marketing of things aside from the legal shit. I have endless ideas, just no direction (it seems im good at figuring out the big picture/complex shit, but overlook the most simple/common sense shit).
+Monkey Gaming Yeah, I feel you... I've launched roughly 19 businesses in my lifetime. Each go at a new business venture taught me what to do next time. Things you can only learn from screwing up or, by learning from others. All that I've learned over the years, I can still say - "I don't know shit!" There is SO much to business. Hell, there is so much more to life - period. No one can ever learn it all but, the fact that you are "aware" that you "overlook the most simple/common sense shit" is a testament that you have the capacity to learn from your mistakes. Most people are afraid to start a business. Many that start a business don't succeed because they fail at some point and are scared to fail again. Problem with that is, failure is the only way to succeed. You must be willing to accept failure as a learning tool. Accept oversight as an eye-opener. Anyways, I could rant for hours, and end up going in hundreds of directions so... I'll leave it at that. No matter what you do, accept that nothing you do will ever be perfect and, you will most definitely fail - a lot! Then and only then, will you begin to see success through failure.
+Monkey Gaming One more thing. As far as tax/legal side of things. The reason I say go LLC and structure as an S-Corp... With an LLC, you will be able to avoid a lot of the headaches of operating at Corporate level. By "headaches," I mean corporate meetings, logging and keeping corporate minutes, etc... Now, with DBA's - you are taxed HEAVILY! You will get absolutely zero deductions that would be available to you with other entities (LLCs, Corps). Out of all the entities, S-corp is the only one that has the best of all worlds. You are only taxed once. Money that remains in the "Business" account is not taxed - with a few exceptions that have to do with overall business income, growth, etc - which can be properly managed by your accountant. Any extra money that exceeds your businesses allowed limit can be withdrawn as a "Profit Bonus," paid directly to you at a HUGE tax break. This is extra "Bonus" money at a heavily reduced tax break - above and beyond what you pay yourself as an employee of your business. The remaining money will remain in your business bank account - tax free. You only pay taxes when you pay out to/for something/someone. At one point, you had to first form a Corporation. Then, submit a form requesting to be taxed as an S-Corp. Effectively converting your C-Corp to an S-Corp. However, for some time now, we are able to form a LLC and do the exact same thing. Submit the request form for your LLC to be taxed as an S-Corp. Absolutely BRILLIANT! *** IMPORTANT *** NEVER - EVER - EVER - EVER - EVER - EVER: Use your business account to pay for ANYTHING personal - EVER! That will break the legal veil that protects your personal assets from the legal liabilities of your business entity. If someone sues you, you will be screwed. Keep personal and business finances completely separated - always! Which is another - of many - reasons to avoid DBA's. The only time a DBA is viable, in my opinion, is if the DBA is drawn up under your current LLC or Corp. For example, "Your LLC doing business as (DBA name)."
+Joseph Baker Can you use your existing EIN number that you received for your DBA, to file taxes for your LLC? The business names are the same but i'm not sure if filing form 2553 is all that is required or also a new EIN number?

John Santos hello, John THANKS for this very informative video. It had a lot of nuggets and helpful informati on that I can use. HAPPY NEW Year and I look forwand to viewing the rest of your videos this years.
You can typically buy it from the platform that is hosting your website. Shopify includes a domain with their plan and you can start a FREE 14 day trial here: bit.ly/Get-Shopify
Very good information. This is probably the only video that gives you the exact information that you need without, withholding certain key components. Thanks for being selfless with your experience.
I do it to inspire and change the lives of people. Only thing I ask in return is for you to spread your talents to others. We all live in the same planet, let's make it a better place.
I'd like to thank you for your patient throughout your work for honesty throughout your failures/mistakes for the love you have for this industry and most importantly for your selfless minded. Because most of us won't realized how very helpful this video is and learn from it take notes follow the instructions and go out there make their dreams comes true but yet have enough time to be pointing out every little negatives instead. From the bottom of my heart i wanna thank you because i have started my clothing line business and before seeing this video it's seems like i was doing mostly everything backwards and spending way too much money and time for no reason what's so ever and since your video and your information things are seems to be a lot better and much easier. Thank very much my brother may God keep on blessing you and your positive circle you have around you.
Many people come with tips and while they may be good, this one is important to follow: Keep going. People try to start a bussines and give up after a month, because its "too hard". You just need to be patient, and give it all you've got, eventually it will become something.
Sole Proprietor us NOT the say to go. By doing so, you set yourself up for lawsuits can can cease your PERSONAL assets ( house, car, funds from Bank Account. Etc.) Save your self the time, learn the different business structures. Good things don' t come over night. LLC is the best choice for starting out with no liabilities.
thenewkrurecords Great point. Those are all things to consider and you should consult with an attorney if you got the $$$. For those that don't have a big budget, it's the quickest way to start.
Finally! someone that offers REAL information (and timeline) on how to start a tshirt business. These folks that say they "Help" only send you a link so you can PAY for more generic information. Thanks so much. ....
Omg, you just dropped so many gems on me that I was afraid to ask others without feeling like I'm trying to stalk or copy their style. I am about to re watch and work on each step piece by peice and get my t-shirt line up and running by the end of this month. Thanks again. Keep the knowledge coming. I appreciate it!
Very informative video JayCash. I have this idea in the back of my head and didn't know what the procedures of putting the ideas together. After watching your videos, I know now that I have to take the steps you outlined in the video. Thanks
excellent video! A big tip when brainstorming names for your business is make a checklist. Include all social media sites, web domains, search the dba/ secretary of state website. Make sure your name is available everywhere your going to have a presence before spending money. The more creative the name the less chance its already registered with your state or taken on a social media site
I absolutely loved your video! This has been the BEST video on starting a clothing business thus far. I have been doing my research since Ii was 15 years old and now I am at ease just by watching your video. Crazy! 8 freaking years lol...
Finally! I have been looking for a video to show me what steps are actually necessary to start my business and what can wait. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time out to help the rest of us who also aspire to have our own brand. This is by far the best video I have seen yet regarding this. My only other question is from the manufacturing side. At what point should you start investing in the products to make your brand and begin marketing it? Should you do all of the legal work before you buy any supplies? Thanks again!!
I have a EIN and closed out my Record Label LLC temporarily now I need to follow your Steps to start a clothing line as soon as I get back on my feet. I appreciate this video.
This is the easy part. The hard part is knowing where to getting clothes manufactured and I don't mean just iron and press your designs/patterns on a T with a hanes or gildan label/tag. I'm talking YOUR designs/patterns with YOUR label/tag. I don't feel it's official until you do because then it's just for people who just wanna rock it and not profit.
+QuadrantBottomHalf finding the manufacturer is easy, you wanna earn profit essentially thats the hard part,,, (use 'linkedin' to find factories if your struggling its what I used)
you can join groups on linked in and make posts asking that ''your looking for an outerwear manufacturer in turkey'' for example. companies need your services don't forget, if your willing to make orders there start chasing you for them
I wish you all the best. You have demonstrated so much kindness by sharing all this information to spread the wealth. This kind of actions will always bring you blessings. Thanks a million for sharing. You have saved thousands of people time of going around in circle.
toke notes throughout the whole video , then spent ten minutes trying to remember my password so that I may sign in and say thank you as well as subscribe ! Thank you for the help, you gave me more confidence by laying out the right steps to take. God bless brother and I wish you and your business the most success. By the way , I loved your bags at your online site. When I get up and running I will purchase one of your bags as a thank you. God bless man and best of luck ! Thankyou !!
Great video! I've been following these steps without noticing. I've noticed I'm on a good track . But I'm getting nervous . I don't want my brand to blow too much too fast and run out of style. I know I'll Have to adapt and expand that's the plan. I have number of huge rappers and athletes who want to promote my brand
Thank you for making a great video. I've seen quite a few and you have you Sh!t together man. Great presentation, easy to understand, good background music (last girls video i saw had Spaceballs playing in the background and it was loud and distracting...I couldn't focus at all.) All around you hit a lot of points that a lot of people missed or didn't even think about. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Keep up the good work and I'd love to see more vids.
This was SO helpful to me. Thank you for making this video. I'm also 18 and learning everything from scratch with very little startup money. I really appreciate the help!
Aside from consuming as much content as you can that I have on my channel, my biggest piece of advice for you is to start sooner than later! You’re at a prime age right now, and unless you have kids to feed and a household to maintain, there’s little risk for you. The older you get, the more obligations and debt you pile up. Nonetheless take it at your pace 🙌🏽
Very helpful man , thanks for taking the time to make this video. Simple, straight, and to the point. I am starting my own clothing brand and needed to hear this.
Great vid man. Also that is 1 strong point I haven't heard for going to college. School isn't something I would suggest for everybody, but that is a good point.
first off I love to say you have done an amazing job with providing not only the information but also giving us the understanding of it. If you don't mind could you make a video about how to get in contact with shoe, bags, & hat production teams? or a understanding of how to have quality items in those categories that you can then brand as yours? please let me know if the question don't make since.
For the purpose of the video "start a line with less than 50" it was a great video. But yes, it is advisable to get an LLC or other legal entity since changing later can be more work. Also, starting a business as a legal entity can be save you from SOMEONE taking your personal property , such as home, car, assets, if you are ever in a legal dispute, since it would be considered a "SEPARATE ENTITY" or a BUSINESS ENTITY in this case. Yes, save a paycheck and start with a LEGAL ENTITY and not SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP (I AM NOT A LAWYER) THanks Jonathan wonderful video.
+Pablo Perez I agree man. Just like the guy up above. There are better ways to start. But if someone is hitting a wall because of the low funds, there are better options available until you get it up and running.
just so everyone knows it is impossible to start any kind of business for less than $50. I have a bachlors in business management and 2 current business's. for legal work alone its about $250 for the corporation, llc, etc, than you have to pay for the business license in your state which is around $250-$325 depending on the state of course, than you will need vendor licenses, etc. Not to mention you need product....
+Kim “Chynna” Hardy Have you found one yet? I work at one, inbox me if you are interested. We can get you a finished product(screen printed, bagged and tagged T shirts) for less than $5 a piece.
Congratulations! Let's connect. checkout the latest videos on my channel and if you need more 1-1 help, checkout the academy I created to help creative entrepreneurs: bit.ly/GroundUp-Academy
First and foremost much respect for the vid and great info on starting a business on a budget. You have knocked off a large amount on my estimates to start my line of clothing.
Im glad i came on his page..i have my own logos already i have two domains already.. now im looking for clothing designer.... I think im gonna love this field...thank you
Thanks so much for this video! I'm a designer/artist and am looking to launch my website soon for my products. You answered so many questions that I had! This was super helpful and you explained things really clearly! Thanks again!
Thank you 🙏🏽 I am happy I found you. I’ve been wanting to start a T-shirt line for 30 years and allowed fear to sabotage me. Now I know fear is an illusion
Thanks for the vid! Definitely learned the basics and where to start at least, but I feel like the websites people use (customink, printful, etc.) are so limited when it comes to design and testing, and it's not very personal if you know what I mean. I have very specific ideas in mind that I feel just can't be executed very well through a site like customink. Any suggestions for someone in my position?
hi i’m 17 y/o from philippines, my friends and I are planning to have our own clothing line & we are still planning on how to do it & how we will budget our money or how will we use it. this is a big help for us!! when we will officialy start our clothing line, i’ll remember u! hopefully we can start our business on november❤️❤️❤️ we need to save money first
awesome video my brutha... my son is a freshman in high school and always talk about starting a clothing line... I wanna take the time to do some research and see what the industry gots to offer and put something together for my son to get into.. thanks for this video. very encouraging.
that's awesome you're encouraging your son in his entrepreneurial pursuits so early! I would recommend taking this free production 101 email course to get familiar with starting an apparel line: makersrow.com/academy
been seeing this video in my recommendations list for a while now and decided to look at it. extremely informative...thank you so much for taking the time out to share your knowledge. i'm in the process of launching my clothing line, and to learn that i can get the paperwork part rolling for less than $50 (being i live in NYC, it might be a little more) is HUGE. do you have any videos about manufacturing, sourcing materials, etc.?
tlw11217 I started working on them. There is one out for clothing labels. I even talked to the company I mentioned so you can get your reference materials free of charge. Just mention Jaycash when you send them an email. info@clothinglabels4u.com I'll be out at Agenda next week, so I will make sure to create another video for that trip.
Great info , So how do you find factory to supply you , i mean you can't just go buy a big bag of 100 white tees from costco and branded. those white tees are already branded "Fruit of looms"ect.
I would like to know this as well. This is basically one of the main questions I have because I currently just want to focus on tees. If you could, please hmu! +JayCashOfficial / @JayCashOfficial
Great information and you have good communication skills. Although my business will not be clothing this video has clarified a lot of things which other you tube videos don't. You could actually do this in a classroom setting and charge money for real. Keep up the good work.
Looks like I’m going down the right route. I just started my clothing brand Aspex Clothing and it’s going at a great first start. Thanks for the advice man! Very helpful.
go to your local secretary of state website and register 2 things: your trademark and your doing business as name. those will run you anywhere between 15 and 25$ each. thats what i did and my logo and name are protected in my state. if you want to go national then you go through the United states patent and trademark office and register for 450$. so start small and work your way up.
The fee in my state is $200, the EIN form however is free. And I cannot trademark my logo through the secretary of state website. I have to go through the USPTO site & that's more than $200. I guess, it's different for every state. I live in New York...
Thank you I appreciate your sharing what you know, I found valuable points I wasn't aware of. I need to know how things work from the ground up, relying solely on Etsy feels like I am giving a certain amount of personal power away and requires less energy. Energy keeps things moving, the more of my energy I put into my endeavor the better. I wish you SUCCESS in your business and again appreciate you sharing what you know. PEACE
Etsy is good to prove your products to a niche market. Mainly being woman (who are strong online buyers) I would suggest building your own platform asap. As anyone can "report" you and then etsy will investigate/ shut you down until you can prove what you sell. It happens more than people think, so it's always good to be established on your own.
1. 1:25Plan (Free Tool Lean Stack) Business Name (Write down every name idea + how your business name will tie into your marketing) 2. 1:53 Trademark/Reserve your clothing line. You don't need this immediately to start your clothing line. Be sure to double check your business name isn't already taken so your on't get sued. 3. 3:03 Legal Structure Sole proprietor is FREE VS an LLC which does NOT $400 its actually only $100 now. The sole proprietor is $20 for fictitious name. 4. 5:19 File EIN # (employer identification #. Its basically like a social security # for your business) 5. 6:06 Whole sale/ Sale Tax Permit (this is an optional front thats NOT recommended to do up front. In the future you can buy items while given a whole sale price that you don't have to pay tax on) Cost is $15. Bank Account needed. If you followed the other steps up to this point this allows you to open up a business account thru your bank. 6. 7:08 Accepting payments. (Use square/paypal) 7. 8:15 Create website. Most important part is just reserve your clothing line name. Then create a 1 page website to get started. Domain name cost $10. (You could use store envy or big cartel to save money upfront.) 8. 10:31 Shipping. (Offer flat rate shipping thru USPS and get free shipping supplies shipped directly to you for using their services.) 9. 11:05 Social Media. (Put some kind of finger print of your clothing line out there to bring brand awareness to your clothing line.) 10. 11:50 (TIPS) PHOTOGRPHY/NETWORKING PLEASE give this comment a thumbs up if it helped you in any way. Have a blessed day. 🙏
It takes more than $50 the business name alone is $120. Trade marking is hundreds of dallors. Then you gotta buy business domain online. Not to mention advertising inventory. Oh and not to mention every town or city requires a business license In a town its $20 in a city or out of town between 100-400 $ all in Canadian dallors
How did you go about creating a prototype for your brand? Did you create by hand yourself or have someone make it and send it to you? Or did you create a virtual prototype?
Made them by hand. Taught ourselves the entire process. If you are in it for the long run I suggest you do the same. If you just want to try it out, you can have someone else make it for you. Saves you a hell of a lot of time and headaches!! lol
Download a list and steps from the site here: startupsenseprogram.com I've also been working on a project behind the scenes for quite some time. I'll announce more details shortly.
Every state is different in the fees they charge up front. But google your city and sellers permit or resale permit and make sure you click on your states official website for more details. To verify its an official site and not a third party it usually ends in .gov
Great video man! Straight to the point. I wish I watched this video a couple of months ago, before spending hours of reading tones of articles and books. This just summarized what I have been trying to educate myself on for months for months. look out for your new favorite subscriber's success ): Thank you.
The main thing I have to say is consult an attorney about your legal structure. Setting up a sole proprietorship is easy, but it leaves you personally liable if someone ever sues you. You need an LLC or a S-corp in order to protect your personal assets for any litigation.

One more thing.
*** IMPORTANT ***
NEVER - EVER - EVER - EVER - EVER - EVER: Use your business account to pay for ANYTHING personal - EVER!
God bless you sir for this. May your business flourish in Jesus Name
Thank you for this! 🙏🙏
Amen

John Santos hello, John THANKS for this very informative video. It had a lot of nuggets and helpful informati on that I can use. HAPPY NEW Year and I look forwand to viewing the rest of your videos this years.
Thank you for the kind words Keshia. I look forward to hearing your updates :)
John Santos where can I go to purchase my domain? Is there a specific website?
John Santos thank you
You can typically buy it from the platform that is hosting your website.
John Santos hi do you have a coaching program? Thanks
John Santos i plan on going forward and doing something in the clothing industry... thx
+Fritz Simon you just took words out of my mouth...well said.
+Fritz Simon Glad I can help! Your words push me to create new content. Keep me updated on your progress.
Many people come with tips and while they may be good, this one is important to follow: Keep going. People try to start a bussines and give up after a month, because its "too hard". You just need to be patient, and give it all you've got, eventually it will become something.
+Jo R. EXACTLY!
No doubt!
Can you start out as a sole proprietor then switch to a llc once your business takes off?
+derektheproducer Yes.

OMG, your recommendation for Lean Canvas alone was so valuable!! I really appreciate you putting this info together, John.
Thanks
Glad I could help!
excellent video! A big tip when brainstorming names for your business is make a checklist. Include all social media sites, web domains, search the dba/ secretary of state website. Make sure your name is available everywhere your going to have a presence before spending money. The more creative the name the less chance its already registered with your state or taken on a social media site
Probably the best video on UA-cam on this type of stuff ..
I absolutely loved your video! This has been the BEST video on starting a clothing business thus far. I have been doing my research since Ii was 15 years old and now I am at ease just by watching your video. Crazy! 8 freaking years lol...
+Ni Ni Jenks Your welcome!!
I am truly grateful for this video i am now following all the steps. I have this video bookmarked so I will never loose it. Thank you!!
Hands down, the BEST video I’ve seen if you want to start a clothing line; or any business for that matter. Well done! Thanks!
+QuadrantBottomHalf finding the manufacturer is easy, you wanna earn profit essentially thats the hard part,,, (use 'linkedin' to find factories if your struggling its what I used)
123456789ten
Aight
+123456789ten how do I use linkedin to find a manufacturer if you don't mind me asking?
you can join groups on linked in and make posts asking that ''your looking for an outerwear manufacturer in turkey'' for example. companies need your services don't forget, if your willing to make orders there start chasing you for them
123456789ten
Alrighty.
Fantastic video. The whole process is so confusing not to mention intimidating. Thank you for explaining this in an easy to follow format!
You’re welcome. Checkout the rest of my channel and look forward to hearing your updates!

By the way , I loved your bags at your online site. When I get up and running I will purchase one of your bags as a thank you. God bless man and best of luck ! Thankyou !!
Patrick Pereira comments and support like yours is the reason I will continue to make more videos. :)
Great video! I've been following these steps without noticing. I've noticed I'm on a good track . But I'm getting nervous . I don't want my brand to blow too much too fast and run out of style. I know I'll
Have to adapt and expand that's the plan.

Thank you so much! Glade you learned from it!
This was SO helpful to me. Thank you for making this video. I'm also 18 and learning everything from scratch with very little startup money. I really appreciate the help!
You're welcome! :)
I’m 18 and my bro and I want to start a clothing brand and don’t know how to get started I took notes thanks man
Aside from consuming as much content as you can that I have on my channel, my biggest piece of advice for you is to start sooner than later! You’re at a prime age right now, and unless you have kids to feed and a household to maintain, there’s little risk for you. The older you get, the more obligations and debt you pile up. Nonetheless take it at your pace 🙌🏽
John Santos I have a son 10 months which is why I’m up at this time trying to learn as much as I can . Some stuff my dad would say . Good stuff
Keven Manzanares proud of you bro. An even bigger reason to progress in life. 🙏🏽 Lmk how things go. Connect with me on IG @johnxsantos

No problem man. It's way easier than people make it seem.
I really like your video! thanks brother for taking the time for this.
+JC Ayala glad I can help man. Now time to get it started!
Very helpful man , thanks for taking the time to make this video. Simple, straight, and to the point. I am starting my own clothing brand and needed to hear this.
This video really helped me out a lot I always wanted to start a clothing line but I don't know where or how to get my clothes manufactured.

Thanks to you I found out about Storenvy and can keep my startup costs down even more! Great information and extremely helpful.
Great vid man. Also that is 1 strong point I haven't heard for going to college. School isn't something I would suggest for everybody, but that is a good point.
Jake Smith college is not for everyone. But if you go, take advantage of everything it has to offer.
What program was used to create those illustrations of the products on your board in the back?
Started our brand after watching this video in 2016! Thanks John!
-Honaqui
first off I love to say you have done an amazing job with providing not only the information but also giving us the understanding of it.
Obviously didn't watch the video.
You obviously didn't watch the video.
+desenutz2012 you obviously went to college
In Sc the business license is $50, so I think that it depends on where you live.
Naaahhhhhhh trust me, my uncle gave me $40 and I bought stuff and 3 months later turned it $3,600. Think beyond the box.
I genuinely appreciate this video, I've been struggling to find a video like this for a while, everything I needed to know.
How can you find a good manufacturer and how much does it usually cost to have them manufacture your clothing?
+Kim “Chynna” Hardy I Kim, check out the website www.ageeapparelgroup.org for options.
+Kim “Chynna” Hardy Have you found one yet? I work at one, inbox me if you are interested. We can get you a finished product(screen printed, bagged and tagged T shirts) for less than $5 a piece.
+Sergio Cortes Im listening
Well I would have to see what design or designs you would like printer, what type of t shirts( colors, etc) and how many.
+Soul Cry Can you email me instead? I live in Mexico that is why i can get the prices so low. My email is sergiocortes07@yahoo.com

Thank you 🙏🏽 I am happy I found you. I’ve been wanting to start a T-shirt line for 30 years and allowed fear to sabotage me. Now I know fear is an illusion
Sincerely- thank you taking the time out to make and post this. Appreciation and respect... Ty...
Hey thank you for taking the time to watch and write this comment. I appreciate you! 🙏
Thanks John! You said the KEY WORD - Keep it simple ! I overthink it too much . Awesome video and Great Information!

I was just talking to my brother about this!!! AND YOU HAVE GIVEN ME MUCH MUCH MORE KNOWLEDGE THANKS SOOOO MUCH FOR SHARING😊
I thought it was as easy as gluing a logo on a blank brand tee and just shipping it :/
lol if only
If it was that easy then everybody would be doing it haha
If it was that easy everyone would do it man
You are looking at souvenir tees.
noffke people are doing that?
awesome video my brutha... my son is a freshman in high school and always talk about starting a clothing line...
Wow great info. Simplicity is key and you totally explained it clearly and in a very organized manner. Look forward to other videos Thanks
Maria Ganal Thank you. Am working on another one which should release soon.
Great info ,
So how do you find factory to supply you , i mean you can't just go buy a big bag of 100 white tees from costco and branded. those white tees are already branded "Fruit of looms"ect.

Thanks for the advice!!
My wife and I we're about to start a brand
Hope your business keeps growing
Do you know any great wholesale companies next to Aliexpress?
We appreciate you taking the time to do this video! It's been real helpful and simple.
acctually an LLC is the best. liability protection. different states maybe different. but is only $50 to register with the secretary of state
+Michelle Borden yes all states vary in price, and an LLC is the best of both worlds. I'll be releasing an updated video shortly.
California has an $800 annual business tax. That starts with getting an LLC.
LLc doesn't add the protection you thinking your owner operator.... just saying.
Great information and you have good communication skills. Although my business will not be clothing this video has clarified a lot of things which other you tube videos don't. You could actually do this in a classroom setting and charge money for real. Keep up the good work.
Watching in 2019 here in Africa

@@johnxsantos you are welcome. Great content.
Looks like I’m going down the right route. I just started my clothing brand Aspex Clothing and it’s going at a great first start. Thanks for the advice man! Very helpful.
NIce to hear!!
Congrats 🎉🍾
How is this all $50? The trademark form alone is over $200...
you don't need to trademark anything. just create the business and put it online.
yea and then someone can steal your business name or logo..
go to your local secretary of state website and register 2 things: your trademark and your doing business as name. those will run you anywhere between 15 and 25$ each. thats what i did and my logo and name are protected in my state. if you want to go national then you go through the United states patent and trademark office and register for 450$. so start small and work your way up.
Eetevan Martinez Okay, I will look this up right now, thank you so much. & You also received an EIN # by doing this?
It happens more than people think, so it's always good to be established on your own.
thank you so much sir I shall start my journey!!!
dont stop!
1. 1:25Plan (Free Tool Lean Stack)
Business Name (Write down every name idea + how your business name will tie into your marketing)
2. 1:53 Trademark/Reserve your clothing line.
Its basically like a social security # for your business)
5. 6:06 Whole sale/ Sale Tax Permit (this is an optional front thats NOT recommended to do up front. In the future you can buy items while given a whole sale price that you don't have to pay tax on)
Cost is $15. Bank Account needed. If you followed the other steps up to this point this allows you to open up a business account thru your bank.
6. 7:08 Accepting payments. (Use square/paypal)
7. 8:15 Create website. Most important part is just reserve your clothing line name. Then create a 1 page website to get started.
Domain name cost $10. (You could use store envy or big cartel to save money upfront.)
8. 10:31 Shipping. (Offer flat rate shipping thru USPS and get free shipping supplies shipped directly to you for using their services.)
9. 11:05 Social Media. (Put some kind of finger print of your clothing line out there to bring brand awareness to your clothing line.)
10. 11:50 (TIPS)
PHOTOGRPHY/NETWORKING
PLEASE give this comment a thumbs up if it helped you in any way. Have a blessed day. 🙏
Great informative video!
👌😀👍
It takes more than $50 the business name alone is $120. Trade marking is hundreds of dallors. Then you gotta buy business domain online. Not to mention advertising inventory. Oh and not to mention every town or city requires a business license In a town its $20 in a city or out of town between 100-400 $ all in Canadian dallors
I so want to start my own brand. Who else is awkwardly located around the world though?🌎

Saves you a hell of a lot of time and headaches!! lol
Hey John, how about a list of the steps please!

Hi Jay, where do we get the tax's permit for $15? Is there an website?
+J Marie Nowhere..
+J Marie Google is your friend
Every state is different in the fees they charge up front. But google your city and sellers permit or resale permit and make sure you click on your states official website for more details. To verify its an official site and not a third party it usually ends in .gov
+JayCashOfficial Thanks Jay! I got it taking care of and opening up a shop in about 2 weeks!

The main thing I have to say is consult an attorney about your legal structure. Setting up a sole proprietorship is easy, but it leaves you personally liable if someone ever sues you. You need an LLC or a S-corp in order to protect your personal assets for any litigation.
I better be seeing 1 million new clothing brand damn
